Get a second opinion before having Dr. Thompson do a procedure. Proceed with caution otherwise.

My first appointment today. I was unexpectedly running late, so I called to let them know. A rather rude person told me I had a 15 minute grace period. I inquired what that meant and she was vague, but it sounded like if I was more than 15 minutes late they wouldn't be able to see me. I arrived 10 minutes late. 40 minutes later I was still sitting in the waiting room, I had not seen any nurse or doctor. I left. Why did I only get a 15 minute grace period. But they evidently have an unlimited amount of time that patients must wait before seeing a doctor. Will not return. read more

Excellent care. I go for my diabetic eye exam every year and thank goodness they send me a reminder. Everyone is very polite and nice and treat you with respect and kindness. read more

Run don't walk from this place . First gave me the wrong prescription for my left eye and told me to wear readers .Why would I wear readers when I wear contacts? Second, didn't have trials and said that there was a backlog and would be a few weeks before I got my contracts . I literally went out to my truck and ordered them from 1800 contacts and had them the next day. NEXT DAY!!! For cheaper than this place. Then of course the prescription for my left eye wasn't right so I had to go back. I was then pretty much told you silly boy these won't work, but we'll order them for you if you insist. When they finally come in, they don't know where they're at and had to have them tracked down, and have ME drive to the other location to get them . Here's where it gets exciting. I ask to speak with the manager Sherry, who argues with me that she has to wait on her contacts too. WTH . Good news is she couldn't do anything and I got to pay FULL PRICE for they're complete mess up . BTW I told her she should order from 1800contacts too Please spent my couple hundreds dollars well, because that's the last of my money you're going to get. ENJOY read more

Please don't waste your time there. I found them to be very unorganized and inattentive to my needs as a patient. The staff was 1/2 hour late for our appointment and that caused us not to be able to be seen as we had another appointment with another facility. read more

I've gone here for 15 years and I have never once had a problem. The staff and doctors are nice and the prices are exceptional. After reading the other reviews I felt like I had to add my own take because of how different mine was. With insurance, my contacts were only like $10, without insurance they would have been $100. Stay away from this place. Expecting to pay a couple hundred bucks for a contact/eye exam, the total has come to almost $500! I went here several years ago and forgot why I never went back. Now I know why. read more

I love that eye dr.s office they were so nice they really cared that my glasses was broken and looked like crap i was there for a exam for contacts and i walked out with a trial pair so i dont have to wear my crap glasses all the time soon i will go back for my follow up and order my contacts their so good to me :) read more

Dr. Thompson and the staff at Eye Care & Surgery are the best in the Roanoke Valley as far as I am concerned. My husband and I both have gone to these folks for years and would never think of going anywhere else for our exams. We (as I would think most people do) want a very comprehensive/complete eye exam and with Eye Care & Surgery that's exactly what you get. read more
