Now retired and a bit more budget conscious, I figured, "Why not check out WalMart?" (turns out arrangement is the eye doctor has an independent practice under the same roof). Glad I did. Nice office, thorough exam, good communication. My wife and I are both MDs, and he saw us together, which was cool. He neither omitted info, assuming we knew, or dumbed it down. He seems skilled at matching his style to the person. Again, his exam was meticulous, and his explainations were exactly what we needed. Finally, outome. Best damn glasses ever, beating my all time favorite from seven years ago. Over to the optical shop, where prices reminded me that it was Walmart. Frame selection was good, service excellent, and the glasses were ready a day earlier than promised. About as good as it gets.

They claimed an email was sent but neither one of us received it (we checked our junk email too). What irritates me the most is how the person in the store reacted by saying they have to do this because of no shows. Ok, I get that but other businesses deal with this but sending you a text to confirm or they take a credit card to hold the appointment. It's just a pretty poor way of doing business. Don't give this place your business. Find other providers. By the way, we called Stanton Optical after this fiasco and they scheduled us right away. And no need to confirm through email.

They said they couldn't do that and that I'd needed to make an appointment to see an optometrist, so that's what I did. Since it was their mistake, I asked if the optometrist could fit me in, and they still refused to do anything. Needless to say, they have lost a customer as I will be doing my business elsewhere.

1 star (and that's generous)…read more AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Dr. Johnson's practice is the epitome of everything wrong with modern healthcare. My 3:00 PM appointment turned into a 90-minute nightmare of incompetence and disrespect. Here's what you can expect: - Forced through an assembly line of untrained technicians who can't operate basic equipment - Multiple failed attempts at simple tests, with broken machines - Endless waiting in hallways between each botched procedure - Redundant tests because staff don't communicate - A pompous doctor who arrives 90 minutes late and has the audacity to blame YOU for not asking how long it would take When I dared to question the ridiculous wait time, Dr. Johnson responded with contempt and arrogance that would make a dictator blush. Instead of apologizing, he lectured me about how I should have known better. Pro tip: Save your time and dignity. Go literally anywhere else. This place operates like a DMV run by monkeys, except with your eyesight at stake. Bottom line: Unless you enjoy wasting your afternoon being treated like cattle by incompetent staff and an arrogant doctor, STAY AWAY.

They have great equipment. Doctor Johnson is not a man of many words but he is GREAT at what he does. Gave me an exam, requested I have more pictures taken then he came back and gave me the results. I got my prescription for new glasses and my medical insurance covered the visit. I paid my $40.00 deductible. All of the staff is super friendly and they seemed well trained.
