My mother got new glasses last year with a spring bow. Because of how she takes them off the spring was broken. I called Eyeland to see if they could repair it and he asked me to stop in. When he saw it he realized the frame would need to be replaced. He suggested I order the same frame online and he took all the info from the frame for me. He said he would then pop in her lenses free of charge. As a stop gap he glued the bow for the time being, again no charge though I offered! I called the place we got them last year, they said they were not under any warranty and the new frame would be about $130. With the info the Eyeland optician gave me I ordered the exact frame for $65. The shop itself is filled with fabulous eyewear. I saw quite a few that caught my eye and I don't wear glasses. There was a really fun looking kids glasses display. I remember getting glasses as a kid and there was npthing fun about it. The friendliness of the optician, the service and selection made this a 5 star visit for me. Hope when I return with the lenses and new frame I have the same experience. Their latest appointment is 4pm. My family has been going here for years. However, my husband and I are both teachers and it's difficult to get time off during the day. They literally cannot accommodate us after 4pm so we have to find a new eye doctor. read more

I was very impressed by the service I had today from eye exam by Dr. Miranda Maney! She was very kind and professional. She answered all my questions. Also Mary the manager helped me picking out my new frames and with options I didn't have before in my old glasses. Price was good also. They will be my go to from now on! Went there so far for my son and wife and both had great experiences and the two workers knew their stuff and took the time to find the right pie of glasses to make my wife happy. I have had great customer service and the staff is friendly and helpful. I have referred many friends over the years because of their top notch care with patients. This will be my final review of this business. I am reviewing it in reference to eyeglasses that we purchase there. I had previously posted about them not fitting the glasses properly. We took the glasses to an eyeglass provider in Elizabethtown, Pa. They did fit them properly. They now stay in place at the bridge of her nose. The person doing the fitting did tall us that there was a chip in the top of the frame. It is very small but seriously, two-day old glasses with a chip in the finish! I should take them back and have them correct this problem. But since I have absolutely no confidence in this business' I am not going to bother. read more

So disappointed in Eyeland Optical. I made an appointment at 2pm, so I left work at 1:30, which gave me a half hour to get from Etown to Mt. Joy. I didn't know a section of Main Street was being worked on and construction had one lane tied up. I was 9 minutes. When I got there, I opened the door to find an empty waiting room. Two receptionist were at the desk. The one looked at me sternly and began to wring her hands. When I told her my name she told me point blank my appointment was at 2 and I had two choices, 1) to reschedule or 2) to sit and wait to see if the next appointment came in and if they didn't, I was allowed to have the next persons appointment. I tried to explain I was caught in traffic and I'm not going to distract my driving by using my cell phone, besides I am not sure if it's even legal to use your cell while driving. As she wrung her hands, she sternly explained the doctor has to take a break at 3 and those were the only choices I had. I guess I informed her I did have other choices. I left and will never go back there again. Can you imagine if I had stayed, makes you wonder how I would have been treated getting this kind of reception. I don't see how they will stay in business treating people like this. When I posted my experience on facebook, another employee from where I work said she was going to try them out because her exam was due, but after hearing about how I was treated decided not to. I have over 200 friends on facebook that work where I do and a lot of them live in Mt. Joy. I am so disappointed, I hope the doctor got his break, which is obviously more important than a patient. read more

Completed an examination with Dr. Whiple and purchased two pairs of glasses - one for every day and one single vision for the computer since I do a lot of computer work. The glasses were okay. When I picked up my glasses I asked for a letter to request larger monitors at work to prevent eyestrain since I require progressive lenses and work on small monitors. I was told this has been done before and it would be emailed to me. After a week of no response I called and left a message for the person who was supposed to accomplish this. 3 days later still no return call. I called again and connected with the guy who I originally spoke with. He stated he talked to Dr. Whipple and his answer was that he wouldn't write the letter because he doesn't understand why it's even needed. He then went on to say that my vision is corrected so there was no need. Besides the obvious refusal to assist with accommodation, and the fact that there is no concern for the customer experience, I do not recommend this place or Dr. Whiple at all. read more

I am very impressed with the service and professionalism of this optical practice. Pricing is reasonable and turn around time is standard. They are only missing that fifth star because they don't have evening hours during the week and I had to wait until a Saturday to be able to pick up my glasses. read more

My first exam was on June 6th and I finally received my glasses today, July 18th. There were a number of mess-ups, a new eye exam and six weeks later my glasses were ready. The people were nice but the problem, as I see it, is that when something goes wrong there was no one to step up to make sure that the customer gets taken care of. When the system works anyone that can follow directions can do the job. But when problems arise the true value of the people and/or the company surface. Other than making a phone call to find out the "status" of my glasses, the people seemed helpless to expedite my order. At no time were any discounts or services offered to compensate for the poor service. read more
