I am reviewing My Eye Doctor on Shadeland Ave. Like others my initial visit was not good. I was…read moregiven a prescription for contacts that I could not wear. The prescription was not the same as my sample lenses. Because the lenses were purchased at Costco and one used before, I realized what was wrong, I was stuck with $200 of contacts I could not wear. They asked me if I would like a re-exam and I refused, what good is it going to a Dr. who already screwed up. Temple was kind and understanding but limited on what she could do. I received a questionnaire from the corporate office and filled it out with the facts (as above) It stated they would like to talk further and asked if it was ok to call. Of course. That call got action. Temple, who had already been so caring called and explained who the new Dr. was. What he would do before selling contacts and they offered a free eye exam. I agreed, with some hesitation and embarrassment. It was not necessary as they were welcoming, and the new eye Dr. spent about 45 minutes making sure the new contacts would fit. He even recognized I did not want daily wear contacts and gave me a test pair that were really comfortable. As fate would have it my husband hit my hand when I was placing a contact in my eye, and we have never found it. Upon calling, Temple, I was given a new pair and explained I didn't feel I was reading menus as well as I could. They included another contact to try, after talking with the Doctor. Contacts are now comfortable, and I am able to read a menu. I am going back again. Great difference with a doctor who knows what he is doing from one who does not.

I was able to easily schedule my appointment over the phone after a few rounds of phone tag and found a lovely appointment at the end of the day on a Friday to make for easy work scheduling. All three of the staff I encountered were professional and answered my questions about COVID safety precautions and cleaning processes. They also took my temperature upon entry. This particular visit was just for an eye exam but it's worth noting that they have a fun lineup of prescription (and non) sunglasses and glasses. Invista Optical is conveniently located a little over a block from the Cultural Trail and Mass Ave action making it especially handy for downtown dwellers and employees. Would recommend!

He remembers details about me and checks in on a personal level during the exam and truly listens to my concerns. Exams are thorough, and Dr. Potter is honest--he has told me when my prescription changed very little and I didn't need new glasses. I don't feel like they pressure you to buy an expensive pair of new glasses just because you're there, which I can't say for some other places I've gone. The rest of the staff is also SO friendly and they make the visit fun. There is a huge selection of very cool frames with a good price range. Glasses can be expensive anywhere you go, but you can get a nice pair here reasonably priced or you can get pricier designer frames, as well. I have done both and been satisfied. I love it here!

They had a huge selection of frames to choose from, so there were plenty of styles to browse. Nathaniel was especially amazing throughout the process. He was super friendly, patient, and helped make several modifications so I could find the perfect pair. I never felt rushed, and he really took the time to make sure everything felt right. They also had a bartender serving espresso martinis during the event, which was such a fun touch. I ended up having a chilled white wine and enjoyed it while trying on frames. It wasn't planned as I was just going to browse, but I did end up purchasing glasses, and honestly, I've never spent this much on a pair before or added so many personalizations, but it truly felt worth it. They carefully fit the glasses, made sure the lenses were correct, and sent me home with a cute bag, case, cleaning cloth, and lens spray that can be refilled anytime, which I thought was such a cool perk. Definitely recommend this place if you're looking for quality glasses paired with excellent customer service and a more personalized experience.

We called after 2 weeks to see the status of the glasses and that was when Zack said the sunglasses were there but they didn't have the clear set. I had to ask why and was told that they would call back to let me know why . A call was never made to me so I waited a couple of days and called again! A representative a woman stated that the glass maker told them that they had lost the glasses and now had to order the frames and it would be another couple of weeks!!! By this time , I was livid not only do they not keep on top of glasses that were ordered but no one contacted us to tell us of a delay and why. That is horrible Customer Service, do they not care to take care of a client from start to finish or is it, that once they have my money the sale is over!!! We feel that the prices of the glasses weren't cheap so the service should be top notch. Once the clear glasses did come in, we were contacted but we shouldn't have had to do all the reminding and follow up. Our understanding would be much more agreeable if we were contacted as soon as the sunglasses came in and they already had the answers on the reason why the clear glasses weren't ready on time. My review is mixed : The eye exam a 10 The glasses a 4 maybe. V Guertin
