I've been wearing glasses since elementary school. After my sentence was handed down, my parents dutifully showed me the $19 frames wall and told me to take my pick. I tried to get thick black nerdlinger glasses, but they wouldn't let me. WELL. Now I can get whatever the hell frames I want, and I want styles that I can't find at a strip mall in Crystal. My taste, however, requires a bit of tempering; I tend toward overzealousness and sometimes I need someone to say, 'Step back, Miss Elizabeth. Think this through. Do you really want THESE glasses?' The staff at Eyedeals will guide you toward styles that will look best on your face. They're very intuitive about the process. They're excited to see how each pair works with an individual's bone structure. They won't lie to you. I will warn that Eyedeals is pricey. They accept VSP, but even with that, it's...it's something, dudes. read more

Ever since it started getting dark earlier- I feel like I can't see as well when driving. A few people have pointed out to me that no one can see as well in the dark as daylight- but I decided to disregard this information and have my eyes checked. Being a non-glasses wearer I had no idea where to go. I logged onto to Blue Cross and Blue Shield to find the closest eye doctor that I could walk to. It happened to be a children's eye doctor. So I went to the next closest--Eye Deals. I had read the reviews on Yelp first and knew it was a pricey place to get glasses. I arrived a little earlier for my appointment and told the friendly front of house staff that I probably wouldn't be buying anything. They suggested that I try on lots of frames anyway and started suggesting ones to try- no pressure. It was true. I honestly didn't feel any pressure. I went into the back for my eye exam. The doc asked me to read the smallest row I could. I immediately read the bottom row. After more carefully examination--he also told me people can't see perfectly in the dark and that one eye wasn't quite perfect but I definitely didn't need glasses. He wrote me a mild prescription anyways. I asked if there was a pair of glasses I could try on to see what the difference would be from my natural vision. The team searched the office for a good 10 minutes. They didn't have any of my prescription in the office but had one similar lens in the waiting-to-be-picked-up glasses. They put a patch over one of my eyes, and I tried out the similar lens. Being that it was the middle of the day and the prescription was so small--I hardly noticed a thing. Since my goal was nighttime driving and no one would see me in them- the staff actually mentioned that I could find cheaper glasses elsewhere to try out and then come back if I ever decided to wear them around people. I loved how honest and nice everyone was at Eye Deals. The prices started around $260 and went way, way up! I was very happy that I wasn't pressured to buy, AND I wasn't ignored once I said I wouldn't be buying. If I ever need some fashionable frames--this would be the place. read more

Very hip glasses, helpful and fun staff, sincere opinions... this is what you want from a dealer 'o' frames.... I went into eyedeals a few weeks ago for a new set of frames. I am not normally the trendiest of people, and that has worked out fine thank you very much. But I stumbled into EyeDeals and was greeted by the "Vision Vixen" (this is how she calls hereself on her card) who had a keen intent to coolify my look. She was quick and opinionated and able to tell me when some frames looked silly. We went through 20 sets before we found 2 that looked good. The staff took down my information and the frame id's and when I came back with my wife (the decider) they pulled out these two frames and allowed us to decide on the final purchase. I have to tell you that I am not used to getting compliments on my glasses, but the last few weeks I have gotten at least one compliment every other day. One of my friends asked me "did you pick those out all by yourself?" impressed with my sudden sense of style. Eyedeals seems to be moderately priced for a seller of frames but they did have a few pairs that were pretty pricey. Don't be afraid, tell them what you want and enjoy the experience. Say hi to the vision vixen! read more

Xia helped me pick out a cool pair of glasses. They don't carry any of the big brand names but have high end boutique style glasses. Xia was perfect help picking out a pair. I recommend. ***They also accept VSP*** read more

I wandered into Eye Deals when I needed to order new contacts and update my prescription. I wasn't on the quest for new specs because I'm the pickiest of picky when it comes to glasses and because of this have not purchased a new pair since 1999. Seriously. But Eye Deals has a fantastic selection of really hip frames. Lots of the designer geek-chic stuff. I found a set I liked, but in true form didn't buy that day. After a couple months, I still couldn't get the frames outta my head so I went back to make the big purchase. Unfortunately, they weren't in the case anymore and weren't being stocked :( But one of the girls that works there (Xia) had the exact pair I wanted and let me try hers on and then told me they could special order them from the makers. She wasn't pushy salesman about either, just informed me about the option. I was super stoked! Xia quoted a max 3 week delivery/production time, but they came in a week early and she even remembered my name when I came to pick them up. I've never gotten so many compliments on a single other thing that I own. Somebody tells me they like them every time I wear them. I couldn't be more pleased with Eye Deals! The only sucky part was paying. Eye Deals definitely doesn't live up to its name in that department...they were expensive. But totally worth it. read more

Wow- talk about amazing customer service! I've purchased my last two pairs of glasses here, and have always walked out with something I love. The third time I went in, Kaitlin was incredibly patient and pulled a ton of stylish options, but I just didn't quite fall in love with the pair I picked out- I kept comparing them to my old glasses. Kaitlin called me up the next day to tell me that she'd located a pair of the same frames for me in Spain, and that they were discontinued, but she could order the last pair of them so that I could keep wearing the glasses I loved. She said that she could tell when I walked out of the store that I just wasn't in love with the new frames and that my heart still belonged to the old ones- a bit ridiculous, but she was absolutely right! So thanks to her I get to wear glasses I love for a few more years, and the discontinued frames were cheaper, so she even got me a refund. I will never shop anywhere else. Amazing, intuitive staff with a great eye, and also willing to go above and beyond for customers, even if it means the store makes slightly less money. And I know that they're a bit pricy, but for something that I'm going to wear on my face everyday for two years for 16 hours a day, the prices are incredibly worth it. read more

In a desperate seach for someone to give me an eye exam on a weekend - I stumbled on eyedeals. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Not only did a I get my eye exam and some new contacts - they also shipped them to my house for free! Very cool & a huge time saver. They offer an intersting mix of frames by designers that I have never seen. Next time I'm in for new frames! The staff is very pushy on wearing glasses vs. contacts. They tell everyone that they are the "new cool thing". (2 different sales people tried to sell my Boyfriend glasses while he was waiting for me!) As I have been a Miss 4-eyes since I was about 8 it's good to hear that glass are the new "in" thing! read more

As a member of an elite club of cat eye enthusiasts, I am always asked where I got my frames and eyedeals is the place. The staff is really honest and helpful in picking out just right frames- it's also no big deal to grab your prescription and order elsewhere. They'll also tune up frames when you bring them in (bought there, obvs). Dr Daly is wonderful and I never want to go anywhere else for an eye exam. He is quick but thorough. Sort of reminds me of a gentle father figure. read more

Eyedeals has a friendly staff. That said, I have purchased two pairs of glasses in recent years here and one pair of my glasses, the lenses are crazing or the the anti-reflective coat is cracking, making night driving very difficult because headlights and roadside lights have halos. This has left me to get new glasses from a different store as I am past my warranty by a month. I am not sure what is causing the grazing. But I do care for my glasses with a cotton cloth and lens cleaner. Please note, after several phone calls, the lenses were fixed for free after the warranty was expired. Furthermore, I was in the store a month ago getting my glasses adjusted by the shop and had asked about my lenses, and she didn't even mention crazing! I question their customer service and knowledge. In the 25 years I have been wearing glasses, I have never had crazing lenses! Unfortunately, Eyedeals is taking the brunt, but they are the ones who sold me the lenses with the eyewear. I will only be back for adjustments, no purchases! read more

Terrible experience. TINY selection of overpriced frames. And what they did have was nothing special. Worst part is they offered a $200 Groupon but anything under $200 was considered "promotional." The cheapest "regular" glasses with lenses were $450. That's frankly a bit underhanded. $40 Groupon down the drain. Plus, parking was non-existent on their busy street. The only positive point was that the salesperson was genuinely nice. I definitely would not recommend this place to a friend. read more

My family and I have been going to dr. Daly for years. I love his laid back style. Sometimes I order my glasses here, sometimes I don't and they are very chill about it. They are a VSP provider too. read more

I stopped by for a repair for my sunglasses (bought elsewhere) and they fixed them free of charge in just a minute. Definitely a great experience! read more

I have been coming to see Dr. Daly and his staff for about 4 years. I actually look forward to my appointment every year. This is a group of friendly and fun professionals. They are always current in their styles and willing to help. I love the time they take to get to know me and always leave feeling content and well- served. Plus, they make me look great in super stylish glasses! read more

I've been getting my glasses from eyedeals since the 90's and have been given no reason to look elsewhere. They have high-quality frames ranging from classic to trendy and a great staff that helps you navigate the options. Each time I go to purchase new frames I feel like I know exactly what I'm looking for but usually walk out with a different look altogether. Also, a big thumbs up for Dr. Daly. read more

I've been visiting EyeDeals for years, for a handful of good reasons. They're easygoing, open-minded, patient, informative, and wonderful to work with! Caitlin & Ashley always know how to help me find frames that will look great on me, and make me feel comfortable and attractive in my new glasses. This is challenging with a stronger prescription, let me tell you! read more

The staff was very helpful and fun. I came in with new insurance and Abigail was super informative on explaining the best bang for my buck. Even though several walk ins kept them busy they were on top of making sure everyone knew they would be helped shortly. read more

They seem to be able to find something for you quickly, and the staff was friendly. The prices however are quite absurd. Well over $400 just for lenses is outrageous. Frames can get expensive, so I can kind of understand paying almost $500 for the frames. There are much better options out there for these prices. read more

My first experience a year ago was excellent and I was very happy with my new glasses. I was with my previous provider for 30 years but I wanted glasses that were more fun. A year later, it was the worst experience. The dr is excellent but when I decided to buy prescription readers, I was told they cost $180 (and I have excellent insurance). I questioned why it was so high as my previous pairs purchased elsewhere were only $10 (excellent insurance). The response was that with my prescription, the lenses would be very thick for the cheaper glasses. I returned to my previous eyecare provider and am now enjoying a great pair of readers (thin lenses too) for only $20. Eyedeals has lost my future business! read more

My initial experience here was good. The girls are patient with looking at the different frames you try on and make pleasant conversation. They also have a fun selection of frames. The reason I wouldn't go back is because of the actual eye exam. I felt the doctor was very condescending. I've had 3 exams here. The first time he went on a long rant about how I shouldn't eat meat. I don't really think that is the place to scold people about their eating choices. You're an eye doctor, not a nutritionist. At the second exam he went on for far too long explaining how other eyeglass stores might have really cheap lenses but charge the same as their place with nice lenses. The third time I went back for a re-exam because I was concerned my prescription wasn't quite right. I understand they are taking time out of their day to give a re-exam and not get paid by insurance. But the doctor spent an uncomfortable amount of time complaining that they were doing this re-exam for free and didn't want to have to. His "re-exam" was showing me my prescription and one other and saying the one he prescribed was perfect. He then proceeded to tell me a long winded story about how his dentist was "also picky about her vision" and if her patients complained about their teeth she would say it's all in their head but she wouldn't recognize that her blurry vision was all in her head. I'm sorry, but you're an optometrist. You're supposed to correct people's vision. Not tell them it's all in their head. I'm never going back. read more

This place is great! I have had two sets of lenses replaced by them (one of them two years ago--they have held up great), two eye exams for glasses and contacts, and bought one complete set of glasses from them. The exams have always been fine, and the front desk staff is very friendly (will even get to know you by first name) and knowledgable about insurance coverage and how to get the best bang for your buck, which is a huge help! No attempts at upselling me on frames I couldn't afford, and helped me find the cheapest, best contact lenses. They are very patient and helpful even when I return many times to get my frames adjusted/tightened. They have a great frame selection and are very helpful in trying on and giving candid feedback to aid in picking the best one. And, their customer service is amazing! When my glasses took a while to come in (wasn't even Eyedeals' fault, the frames were on backorder) Caitlin made up for the wait by offering to replace old lenses in another pair of frames for free. This was a huge help to me, since my health insurance no longer covers lenses, and my prescription is very high, so lenses are very, very expensive. Totally unexpected and wonderful. I really appreciated this gesture and will continue to be a return customer! read more

Great selection of eyewear! The staff is very friendly and personable. There are 2 locations. One in Calhoun Square and a new one in St. Anthony park just off of 280 and 94. Highly recommended! read more

Love this place! I found the best frames I could ever ask for and enjoyed my experience along the way. The associates at eye deals are incredibly helpful and supportive. This place has a really wonderful selection of unique frames. Lots of interesting things from which to choose. HOWEVER, don't expect to be waited on. Places like Specs on Hennepin have really set the bar high for great customer service on expensive glasses. If I'm gonna pay $500 for a pair of frames, I expect some assistance. read more

My husband booked me a Saturday afternoon appointment online at this shop. It was nice to have an eye appointment on a Saturday, so I didn't miss any work during the week. The shop itself is on the smaller size, but has plenty of frames selections to choose from. They ranged from chic to geek, and all of them looked of high quality. The doctor I saw was a former neurologist who was very informative and thorough in his examination of my eyes. I appreciated the helpful staff, as well as the quality service that was extended to me. I didn't purchase any frames, but I know that I would have plenty of assistance if I ever needed it. It's a high-end shop with a down-town feel, which was really nice. I'd suggest it to my friends, especially if they are in the market for a good pair of quality frames, whether for fashion or function. read more
