Fast forward a short time - I was subject to an unfortunate experience at another salon in the area, reached out for help from others, and was referred to Roxanne. I messaged her in dire need of a color correction as I am due with a baby anytime. Roxanne responded quickly and was able to get me in almost immediately. I arrived at the salon, greeted by Roxanne and Jessica, so nervous but hopeful for a transformation that left me feeling like myself rather than a calico cat. After less than an hour and a half in Roxanne's chair, I was brought to tears! Roxanne evened out the spots I had, toned my hair to a more desirable color, and made my roots as natural as possible. She cut off damaged ends, corrected broken layers, and straightened my hair where I could see the difference. In addition, she recommended products and told me how to use the products to protect the integrity of my hair. The biggest takeaway for me - Roxanne listened. She heard my concerns and put her best effort forward to make sure that I walked out feeling brand new. Throughout my time, Roxanne and Jessica engaged with me. They were kind, encouraging and uplifting to this expecting mamma who just wants to feel good going into a new chapter of life. I couldn't be more thankful for the ambience, staff, warmth and kindness here at Beauty Bar. Not to mention - the talent of each of the hands of the artists! I'm looking forward to returning for all of my self care needs.

It took about 5-10 minutes for the technician to come over and start. When she asked how short I wanted my toenails trimmed, I clearly explained that if they were cut too short, I tend to get ingrown toenails--especially on both sides of my big toes. Despite this, while trimming my left big toenail, she used cuticle cutters to cut deeply into both sides of the nail. It was extremely painful, and I was visibly uncomfortable the entire time. Although she applied antiseptic afterward, the damage had already been done. When she moved on to the other foot, I was so concerned about a repeat of that pain that I told her I didn't have issues with that nail, even though I actually do. I never asked for ingrown toenail treatment--only that my nails not be cut too short--so this was both unexpected and upsetting. Today, my left big toe is red, swollen, and painful to walk on. I've been applying bacitracin and keeping it covered, but it's clearly irritated from being cut too aggressively. Unfortunately, I will not be returning. This experience was painful and avoidable, and it felt like there was a significant miscommunication during the service that led to it.

It's a full service salon (minus nails) with about 8 hair stations when you first walk in, and a separate aesthetics area tucked away in the back. It is right on public square, so parking is a pain on the street, but I was told that there's also a parking lot tucked behind it that is much easier to deal with. I only knocked a star off because of the prices -- although they are the best prices in the area for Brazilians ($70 initially, then $60 from then on with recurring appointments). I've seen Hilary twice now, and she makes the process as quick and painless as possible. Plus she's fun to chat with, and knows a lot about the area -- which for me not being a local is helpful :) I've been to a couple other places for waxing so far, and they've either been outrageously priced and take forever, or the salons were very out of the way and inconvenient because they only took cash. So, I will definitely continue to see Hilary for her services as long as I'm in the area, and you should too!

We don't have ULTA in Canada, so every time I'm in the USA in a city with an ULTA, I like to go in and poke around. I have found that all locations are very similar and I can't say that there's anything about this location that sets it apart. This location is in the Towne Center at Watertown shopping complex.
