I had not been to Eye-Q Vision Care for years, since having a very successful LASIK surgery there to correct my myopia over a decade ago. Today's visit was exceptional. From the moment I walked into their new state-of-the-art Clovis facility, through the process of meeting with several friendly and highly competent technicians, to a thorough exam by Dr. Baudonnet, I was impressed by the staff, methods of operation, and the facility itself. At no time was I left waiting more than five minutes between the steps of the appointment. I never felt set aside or forgotten. I'd no sooner start a reply email on my phone in the waiting room when I was called in for the next step. At all times, I felt everyone there wanted to take care of me. I've waited a while to put up a rating because I didn't want it to be based on emotion. I have never wanted so much to yell at one of my daughter's doctors as I have Dr. Holt. My daughter has poor vision and exotropia, every time we've gone in Dr. Holthas told us her eyes are further out of focus but he's not going to prescribe glasses because of her age (she's been 1 and 2 at all appointments). She squints at everything and is developmentally delayed and would p catch up better if she could, I don't know, see. He has also ignored treating the exotropia. She finally saw another pediatric ophthalmologist yesterday and is finally getting glasses and treatment. Her new doctor was amazed that any doctor thinking a child not being able to see was ok. read more

Contact lens technician Thao did an excellent job with my son. He is 11 and was getting fitted for contacts for the first time. Can't get my son glasses at the optical department. First appointment was 2 hours long (I understand kids take longer) and ran into the office lunch hour. They should stagger lunches for these types of clients that finish during lunch. No one said hey sorry it's our lunch hour, can you come back later as numerous staff walked by us. Tried to get him glasses today since I took the day off but they are booked due to COVID. If they had told me to schedule earlier I would have. I'm going to have to take off more time from work to get him glasses next week. I would recommend another optical if you are able. read more

My appointment was to pick up glasses but they were so behind schedule with patients seeing doctors and ordering glasses that I had to wait for 45 min for my appointment. When I asked politely if they ever call to let patients know they are running behind the answer was evasive. They really should have a technician just helping those picking up their glasses as scheduled rather than putting us in the que with all the patients coming out of the doctors' offices. See any other eye doctor in the area. Your appointment will hopefully be less then two hours any where else. My primary visit request was for contact prescription. You float through multiple people and places within this facility. Your spending majority of the time waiting in the waiting room. My appointment was at 130 and did not check out until 240. Until the last station as when I was informed that I would not get the contact lens prescription until I complete a several week process for fit testing to ensure proper fit. I travel a lot and would not be in the area for one more week and no accommodations were made. What a scam to waste your time and money. I have been wearing contact lens for 10 years using the same brand and slight variation in number . My current prescription was my bad eye the same and my good eye a .25 improvement. All I wanted was my contact prescription and there were no other options. Now I have wasted my yearly check up copayment and two hours of my day for nothing. I would not recommend if you value your time. read more

My review is long overdue. Dr. Baudonnet is such a great doctor. I've had an issue with my eyes itching for years, and it took me finding him to realize I needed to be on eye drops and to go to contacts that weren't in my eyes as long. I really need to compliment Esmeralda too at the contact lens department because she has always helped me to find the best option for my contacts, and her customer service can't be beat. I love this office!!!! The staff is so friendly, and my eye exam was done by Dr. Lopez who was so nice. I received an exam for new contacts and met with Thao Xiong-Khaosaat to order my new lenses. She checked my insurance and I was pleasantly surprised my insurance covered almost a whole year of contacts, I tried them and felt the strength on one lense was not right and she worked with me giving me samples until I figured out the right prescription that worked best for me. Dr. Derick Holt was attentive, caring and personable. He did a thorough eye exam on my 18 month old boy. He gave me detailed explanations as to what he was looking and testing for throughout the exam process. The staff was delightful and friendly. The receptionist at checkin was polite and helpful as well. The waiting room is set up like a nice play date for the little ones. When we finished our exam, my son was offered a treasure chest to sort through and take something home. I did not find the wait time long. read more

Dr Hinton was great as always, but I was there for an hour and a half, at least, and my time with him was only 15 minutes. It's a new office and I imagine they're still getting it down. I had to wait 30 minutes to be called, had a short exam, waitied another 20 minutes, another exam, and then a good 45 minutes or more before going to wait for Dr Hinton. That exam was maybe 15 minutes. The facility is beautiful and I really like Dr Hinton, so I'll keep going, but I hope they get their collective acts together. read more

Dr. Holt and his staff need to get there office program in order. Wait times are ridiculous, sometimes up to 4 hours. Worst, they book an appointment and then change it on you without notifying you. (this is the 3rd time now) Talking to office personal, they say Dr Holt's schedule changes all the time so they have to shift appointments around. This place was very unorganized. I had an appointment at 9:50 am, I arrived at 9:30 am anticipating paperwork since I was a new patient, I waited in the lobby for an hour before being taken to another room where they spent 10 minutes with me only have me and many other patients waiting in a small hallway another 20 minutes! I was then taken into yet another room another small test , escorted to the hall waiting area for another 20 minutes before finally seeing a doctor! The doctor spent 10 minutes doing some tests and was done. I was taken to a "contact lenses waiting area" waited another 25 minutes before placing my order! This visit took almost 3 hours!!! I was not happy! I work in healthcare and never can imagine making patients wait and not explain why their waiting so long! Needless to say I will not be returning to this facility. read more

I am NOT thrilled with the staff at EyeQ. I called asking about my insurance coverage with their office. After 4 Transfers to get to someone who 'knows', one disconnect, and then calling back I found that there is only ONE person who knows about my insurance (coverage for exams, cataract surgery, glasses). And she was out of the office (at 11:30am) I was told to call my insurance for my coverage...I had stated at the beginning of each call I had already done so and that needed to be assured that they really did take my insurance....yeah !!! I spent 15 minutes on the phone....and no help at all. Well, I am not thrilled with the Customer Service via phone so I am guessing they do NOT need any new or old patients to come in. So I will take my (and my family's) eye needs to an optical office who actually wants business. I cant comment on EYE Q's optical care, but I CAN comment on their Phone Customer Service. Poor....very very Poor. After talking with another Ophthalmologist's Office, I made an appointment with them for myself and my 4 children after they checked on my insurance and assured me all was well. I have seen multiple doctors at the Eye Q in Clovis and I am extremely impressed! Dr. Baudonnet is extremely personable and professional. Dr. Hinton really knows his stuff and I will continue to trust him to stay on top of the medical issues with my eyes. I have also taken two of my daughters to see Dr. Baudonnet and he was wonderful with them both! But the real gem at this location is Dr. Lopez. He's knowledgeable, efficient, really funny, and he really listened to me with my concerns. I always appreciate a provider who listens to their patients and makes them feel at ease. I highly recommend this practice and would not hesitate to give glowing reviews to the providers as well as the staff. I have to add... The glasses and frames are extremely expensive so I got my glasses at Costco but the contact lenses are priced competitively with other places. I had my eye exam December 2018. It was my first time there, it took 3 hours to get seen. 3 hours. I was very patient because I understand that sometimes facilities are under staff due to doctors calling out ... I also used to work for a dental office and I disliked patients who would come up to me when they were seen 15-20 min after their appt time. The doctor was nice, If I'm not mistaken her name is Dr. Borja at least that's how it sounds. She made the process nice and easy. I had went in for a full exam, glasses and contacts. I wanted glasses more than contacts at that moment because I haven't had glasses for over 2 years. The Doctor asked me what was my previous Contact Lense prescription (2017) and advise me to keep using those. I got my glasses. The lady who helped me was really nice. I have nothing to complain about her. It's April and I am running low on my contacts. I called the office for my prescription. The lady said she doesn't have a prescription for me because I had only went to get and eye exam for Glasses, Which I had not! So now I have to go back and have another exam ... my private insurance covers once a year and why should I pay to get something done that was supposed to be taken care of. Anyways, I WILL NOT GO BACK. I now understand why this office along with the others have very low ratings... read more

I have nothing good to say about this place. I had a 130 appointment and I arrived at 1:20 did my paperwork. At 2 o'clock I got shuffled to the back of the very empty large office where I sat in another room while a lady ask how long I wore contacts. I then get put into another waiting room and waited for another 30 minutes or more before I got put into an exam chair. The doctor came in, very cold not personable at all he went through the routine of a basic test. Then I was shuffled over to the area to order contact lenses where I waited again while the lady did paperwork while I sat there. (Not my paper work) Finally at 5 PM I left with one pair of lenses for a trial. I've called back several times asking for my prescription so I can go elsewhere and order they said they were going to mail the prescription and I've never received it that was 3 1/2 weeks ago don't waste your time go somewhere else. read more

First I will start with the positive, Dr Baudonnet, OD was timely thorough and very professional, the positives ended there. I was given an appointment with a specific "optical dispenser" to pick up glasses, she walked away from the station at the time of scheduled appointment, was not with another client and appeared to be killing time, on a simple visit to pick up glasses was delayed 40 minutes. I was rescheduled two weeks later for a follow up, this appointment same "optical dispenser" I was told the appointment did not exist even though I had the appointment card she refused to review, she did however reorder the glasses which were not working out for me and scheduled two weeks later to pick up. The last appointment which I arrived at a little before I was directed to wait and the same "optical dispenser" called two other people to her desk after my scheduled appointment time which was early AM, after 45 minutes of waiting went to the counter to bypass the "optical dispenser" and got my glasses.
