The wait times here are absolutely outrageous, and it has me seriously considering why we all put up with it. (Probably only because this is the one option for pediatric ophthalmology around!). We've taken my daughter here 6 times over the past 3 years and every single time we have to take a half day off of work (which I learned the hard way). I regret not bringing food for her, because it is a 3-4 hour commitment. Why have an appointment time if you're going to make us wait 75 minutes before we are even called back? Or at least give us the courtesy that you are running late so we can go out and run an errand or something. This system is so disrespectful of parents' time (the most precious asset we have) and the lack of transparency really has me considering pulling our daughter's medical care here and just sending her to an optometrist at this point. The medical care team is fine enough, but the way that this office has normalized these excessive wait times is completely ridiculous. read more

We've only had great experiences here. We never wait more than 20 minutes and when we make it to the back providers are super punctual. Cutting edge technology too. I only have great things to say. read more

" EyeQ is the premier vision care in Fresno " ...what a joke . I've seen eye care providers at FML in Fresno , a private care practice in Clovis and this trainwreck ( EyeQ ) in Clovis . All of them suck , but EyeQ seems to be the worst fraud of the 3 . I made an appointment with EyeQ's so called specialist , Holt -- A DOCTOR of Opthalmology and supposedly a specialist in diseases of the eye . I waited 5 MONTHS to see this so called specialist . When I finally got to see him , I arrived early and waited an hour and a half past my appointment time to see him . I spent approximately 20 minutes with his assistant , and about 10 minutes with him . He didn't do ANYTHING that the other opthalmologists hadn't already done . I even brought copies of the medical information provided by the other eye care providers and he opened the envelope and barely suppressed an eye roll as he handed it back to me without reviewing the information . During his exam I started to get an attitude because I was already getting a sense that this guy wasn't going to do sh** to help me . So he asked me some questions regarding symptoms or something and I just remember feeling incredulous ....I said something like " why are you asking ME ? " because my immediate thought was that what he had asked me was what I was there for him to figure out . Well , his facial expression told me I should have just got up and left at that point . Anyways , he concluded his joke of an " exam " and left to discuss something with his assistant. So he returns , looked briefly at some forms , and then briefly discussed his exam and then said to me and I QUOTE " I think there's something wrong with you're retina " . I was so dumbfounded that I had to choke off the laugh that was about to escape from me . I said " that's it ? " So he kind of stared at me for a second , then said he was going to refer me to Quest for some tests . And then advises me to reschedule an appointment " in about 2 or 3 months " . Unbelievable. So , no follow up , no advice on what to do or how to proceed from that point to hopefully resolve the issue with my eyes , or at least figure out what the hell the problem is . Nothing And no discussion about the tests that he was sending me for or who to discuss the results with when I receive them or any other follow up . So I get the results back from Quest about a six weeks later . I call his office 3 different days at different times and always got a ridiculous answering machine . THEN -- I get the bill from my insurance - over 4000.00 for that absurd waste of time with Holt . And shortly after that I get the bill from Quest -- 1700.00 for the tests , and of that sum 1000.00 was an " interpretation fee " ...seriously . See, this so called " specialist " could have at least had his assistant entail what the tests were for and that they would require this ridiculous interpretation charge , at which point I would have had the opportunity to decline the tests knowing the fees that I would be liable for . Unbelievable that incompetent money grubbing posers like Holt are allowed to provide such bogus medical services . But then , there are A LOT of seemingly incompetent medical care providers in the Central Valley that are only concerned with their billing procedures and getting you in and out with only minimal attention to your immediate medical issue . read more

First, let me say the doctors there are great. I do have a major complaint about their team that sells and fits glasses. I schedule an 8:30 appointment this morning. I arrived 10 minutes early to be on time. I was told by the person checking people in that the fitting team had not opened as of yet. I then sat until 8:52....finally I was called back. I explained that I had my prescription, given to me by the doctor yesterday, and needed new lens placed in my frames. I also explained that I had a 9:30 appointment across town. I was told that they needed 30 minutes to do measurements and there wasn't enough time. Had they honored my appointment time there would have been ample time. I made a commitment to be on time and Eye-Q chose not to honor that. I left with my prescription and glasses. There was no apology or attempt to rectify the situation that they had created. Horrible customer service and relations. Still no call from them..... read more

I've been going to Eye Q for years. Usually I go to the Fresno location but this year they changed my appointment to the Clovis location. That was a great decision. This location is so wonderful. Granted it does look like the Fresno location just bigger. Everything is super clean and super nice. They are taking everyones safety very serious, temperature checks outside the main door, when you go in you register via a touchscreen and as soon as you're done it is wiped down and disinfected by one of their Associates. I love the fact that in the waiting room everyone I spaced out and as soon as you leave a chair is being disinfected and wipe down by another associate. Everything is currently appointment only and I love that. Even through all of this safety you can see the employee smiling over their masks, everyone is super professional and so super sweet to you. Sorry I couldn't get really good photos I didn't wanna get any other customers in my pictures. read more

The worst ever !!! If I can give no stars I would give it. We had a horrible experience. I took my son for 1:30 appointment. We arrived 20 minutes prior, they didn't call us until 2:40. The nurse examined his eyes and told us that doctor will see him SHORTLY!!! Dr.Holt came in to see him after 30 MINUTES.He stayed for 10 min ,then they put some drops to dilate his pupils and told us to wait in the waiting area for 30 minutes which meant seeing him after 70 MINUTES. Long story short we spent 4 hours in their office for an eye exam!!! Which came out wrong I didn't trust the results and took to another doctor and there was a huge difference in numbers between the two exams. Don't waste your time going there . I think they overbook patients (it's all about money). There was another patient with a special need little girl and they did the same with them, she went very angry after spending 2 hours for nothing ,yelled at them ,took her child and left without finishing the test. I will for sure not go back or either recommend this place for anyone. read more

This place is amazing. The receptionist Flor is super sweet, attentive and very knowledgeable. Check in was super easy, they had all my paperwork ready, insurance was verified days prior. Love how they have toys and iPads in the waiting room for the kids it makes the waiting time easier or else my toddler would go crazy. In the exam room the assistants are great they aren't in a hurry like most other places I've been too. They made my son very comfortable. Dr. Holt is a great doctor. He explained everything that was going on with my sons vision very thoroughly. All in all this place is great. I highly recommend it. This place is horrible. It doesn't matter if you have an appointment, you won't be seen at that time. I took my 7yr old here and waited 1 hr to be called back then the appointment took 3 hrs. She had to get her eyes dilated and they told me the minimum appointment is 3 hrs long. Who has time to wait that long?! The one on Herndon and millbrook is great, we were in and out in 1hr. read more

Worst customer service ever. Daughter had an eye apt here in aug we ended up buying frames here even though I was horribly treated. Reps made me feel bad for asking about prices and coverage, made me feel like I were waisting their time. Now 3 months later the right hinge broke, took them back and said it wasn't cover by the manufacture and won't repair them. I would have to pay an additional $275 for repair. They didn't even last that long, optional rep made me feel horrible about not being able to afford to reorder them. Please do yourself a favor and never never go here. I will never return. read more

I give this rating purely because of Jared, who checked my vision before I saw Dr.Taylor. He was very professional and our conversation came very naturally. While checking my vision I mentioned seeing a shadow. He asked me to close my eyes while he fiddled with some buttons & when I opened them the shadows were gone. He said the machine had added cylinders when it wasn't needed. It's clear that he knows what he is doing! He's a great asset & I hope the company sees that! read more

We love Dr Holt. My daughter had a chalzion removal in December. He was very through in his examination he suggested an ointment for the eye and used surgery as a last resort. You don't find doctors like that too often. He's honest and great with kids. The office is always clean and the receptionist is super sweet. Some days you'll be in there for 2 hours, or 30 minutes. So make sure you have plenty patience and block out a good amount of time. Despite the lengthy wait times we love Dr Holt and won't go anywhere else. read more

(Dr. Holt Review)I must admit that my kids are usually good at the doctors office. Today was my twin 6-year olds one year eye exams. The waiting room had a friendly atmosphere, toys, crayons, legos, "eye"-pads to play games. The back office staff were in top of there game; my son didn't want to do ANYTHING. Stephanie and another fantastic woman went above and beyond to get my son's appt done! Seeing Dr. Holt (super nice) made the wait & hysteria of my kids worth it! Dr. Holt is professional, friendly, and immediately put the health of my children's eyes at the forefront of his focus. This office is appreciated very much by this Mom. Last but not least!***Aracelli if you read this a HUGE THANK-YOU for working with me to make these necessary appointments happen for my twins; your compassion is a rarity these days. One star review for wait times alone. I have had 3 appointments at this locations with Dr Holt. I have never once gotten back to see him within an hour of my appointment time. Occasionally running late happens, running a few minutes behind happens to, but this is a consistent disregard for their patients times. And no communication front the front desk on extended wait times. Which is extra frustrating as they are pediatric specialists. No parents wants to sit in a drs office for 2 hours with a small child. I don't even want to with no child. And then for staff to patronizingly explain how much time you appointment will take and explain 2 hours between this appointment and another is not enough time is utterly ridiculous. It would be if you had called me back with in 20-30 minutes of my appointment time. Otherwise Dr Holt is great. They eye surgery I had went extremely well, healing was good, and my result are extremely pleasing. I'm grateful I had this surgery, but even more grateful I don't have to return to this office and have my time disrespected. read more

Eye Q -Clovis: It took 3 months to get an appt. I made it early in the am thinking I could get in quick because I am a nurse and can't take off work. Signed in from the text they sent me and chose "wait in lobby". There are only 2-3 people waiting. 1 hr later I'm still sitting there so I go up to the desk and ask if there is an issues. She said "Oh haven't you been called back yet?" Obviously not I'm still in the lobby. So I go back and have a seat 15 minutes go by (now 1 hr and 15 min after my scheduled appt) so I leave because I have to go back to work. I call from my car to sched another appt - 2 month wait - I book it for early early am. Show up 10 min early - the sign in text doesn't work - I use the kiosk sign in and sit.....15 min later Im called back for the preliminary 5 min test and then told to wait in the back lobby. After 15 min I was put in the exam room.....45 min later .......no doctor. I asked the staff what the problem was - no excuse given. So I let them know that it is disrespectful not to value a patient's time just as it would be if I arrived late to my appts. If the doctor (Taylor) was that slow you shouldn't book her so many pts and give her time to catch up. Do you expect me to have to take a vacation day from work just to get a yearly routine eye exam? I walked out again. I called Eye Q in Fresno to schedule yet another appt and because they are open on Sat and I figured I would be able to wait hours and not worry about work. Computers were down and they were unable to make an appt. I called on Saturday - no answer to appt desk even though they were open til noon. Dr Lopez was my doctor in the past and it's been horrible since he retired. I never had to wait for him. My insurance only covers Eye Q so I'm pretty hosed as far as going anywhere else. read more

Very rude receptionist. She acted irritated that I ask d questions..then she said she didn't know what building her office was in???

I went to EYE-Q Vision Care in Clovis for a special appointment with Dr. Thomas Shute MD. He is a specialist in treatment of glaucoma related problems. I was very impressed with the facility. It is a beautiful building that is creatively designed and decorated. I felt very comfortable there. The staff is very professional and friendly. Upon entering the building, they screened me by checking my temperature and offering hand sanitizer. This is a much needed protocol in view of the coronavirus pandemic. Dr. Shute's office has all the latest equipment with a well trained staff. I was able to get a diagnosis and set a date for my next appointment. I was impressed with his analysis and what options I had. He is very personable, professional and friendly. Ay the checkout, however, I was not impressed with the clerk there. She had a closed mind about the impact of the pandemic. I told her that did not feel safe for any of us in this turbulent time. In spite of this, I am looking forward to my next visit. Thank you Eye-Q Vision Center for a positive experience. read more

As I sit here waiting, I'm really wishing I read the reviews first. Unfortunately, my previous eye doctor no longer accept our insurance so I was trying to find appointments quickly. This was one of the only places that had appointments available within a few months- now I know why. This is a very impersonal experience. You check-in at a kiosk, sit and wait... then your name is called and you go to one of the many rooms. The whole experience has a factory-like feel to it. This person made ZERO attempt to speak with or interact with my daughter. There was someone else in the room but not sure who she was as she was never introduced. Next we went to another room, this person was more personal. The. Off to another room to see the doctor. There was another person taking notes for the doctor- no clue who she was as she never introduced herself. Then off to go make appointment but they weren't sure if I had to make the appointment to the day or within the month- varies by insurance and was told I need to call and figure it out. Wow. Person at front desk was less than helpful- again very impersonal. Now waiting for an appointment for glasses. They told me it could be a while as there is only a few people working in that section. Going in 1.5 hours since we arrived. Not once were we asked how we were, did we have a good holiday, nothing. read more

Staff has been helpful when you actually go in person. However, due to COVID (or so they say) it has been nearly impossible to get anyone on the phone. I had to call for day and days. When you finally reach an operator by miracle your transferred directly to a mailbox that's full and won't allow you to leave a message. On the fourth day and about the 7th phone call I was able to speak with someone to pick up my contacts. Beyond frustrating. ALSO when calling to see if my glasses were delivered yet last month, they were there. However, they suddenly and conveniently do not notify you they there delivered. Good luck again getting ahold of anyone to get an appointment to pick those up too. Won't be referring anyone to use Clovis Eye-Q. read more

Eye-Q is going downhill ! They either overbook appointments or understaff. I've been to the Fresno and Clovis locations now and each time I've had to wait greater than 1.5 hours for routine eye exams. It's really too bad that they don't communicate with the patients to let them know how long the wait will be or work to improve their processes ! The Medical Staff and Facilities are great but the patient experience is terrible because of how long you have to wait. read more

I have been taking my son here for 3 years now and I've had such a horrible experience most of the time that I am no longer going to bring him here. Last visit the receptionist gave me the wrong appointment, wrong doctor, and wrong information. This visit the doctor was very unprofessional. Not only do you have to wait about an hour or two after your appointment time to get in. It takes another hour or two for the actual appointment with so many different people coming in and not even telling us who they are or why they are in my sons room. Waiting 3 plus hours at an appointment for kids is not fun. Yesterday we didn't want to do one of the tests and we were told very rudely and in an unprofessional manner by Dr. Holt that "well then I'm not giving him glasses and I'm the only doctor in the Central Valley so you will have to go to San Francisco and that's why it's always so busy here and you have to wait because it's just me." Very uncomfortable with refusing one of like ten tests and then just being told that information especially in that manner. He could have explained why he does that certain test and could have said we can keep his prescription he has now until your are comfortable or something like that. More educational and professional response would have been nice and just overall communication. But to say well I'm not gonna give him glasses and pretty much good luck finding someone is a no for me. I called the doctor I go to and sure enough my doctor can see my son so that is where I will go from now on. Overall, long wait times and unprofessional staff all around. Also I was sent a bill and when I called to ask about the $50 charge that should be covered by insurance they said they were waiting for insurance information and not to pay it yet, who sends a bill before getting the insurance information and then have it say there will be a late fee charge for unpaid bills? Very misleading information. What if I had paid it and then insurance did cover it? Not worth it here at all and beware of the bills they send out, ask about each charge so they don't take your money. read more

Dr. Borba is very nice and knowledgeable. The office is ran very inefficiently. It takes forever to be seen. We have had two problems with scheduling. They cancelled one of my apt without letting me know, when I arrived they said they could see me if I waited 2-3 hours. Even with normally scheduled appointments, the fastest they have been is to have me out in 1 hour 45 mins. Contact checks take just over an hour, it's just too much time and a very expensive place to buy your glasses or contacts from. I do not recommend this facility for anyone who has anything else to do but sit and wait in an office. read more

I am super unhappy with this new doctor office. My appt was June 3rd 2020. I picked up my glasses almost a month later. The lenses were damaged and I told the lady adjusting them they were damaged. She clearly stated "No they are not you are just not use to the new prescription " I told her I've been wearing glasses for many years and can see the lenses looked damaged. The lady helping me adjust them was super frustrated with me just to find out she was rushing to get out of there in her lunch break as I walked out. I went home to then call a supervisor and returned the damaged glasses I was sent home with. Supervisor even saw the damage and stated she would get them fixed. I had a prescription for contacts which I've used as well. I went to Costco to get my supply to find out they wrote it wrong. So then I had to call them leave a message to write the prescription over and correctly. Never got a call back so I had to walk in there to get it done in the spot days later. Here we are Sept 1st and almost 5 weeks later I have not heard from them or have gotten my new glasses. I will be asking for a full refund and will never return! What a nightmare. read more
