Utterly pathetic!…read more After being referred from the Costco eye center (he needs to find someone else to refer his patients) for having a larger than normal dilapidation of sight I was sent on a wild goose chase By these doctors. This goose chase included an MRI a CT of the arteries of my neck and a serious surgical procedure that has left visible permanent scars. Due to the utterly pathetic original diagnosis I received at this clinic other doctors treated me with large doses of prednisone. I am now type 2 diabetic as a result. Luckily I consulted a very good neurologist in Illinois who had me seen within 72 hours at Wheaton eye clinic/NorthWestern by a Nuero Opthamologist who advised me, and the clinic, that he/they could find nothing that supported the original or any diagnosis (and wrote and tell them so) I would not under any circumstances go here if you have any under lying conditions as this clinic is simply not experienced enough to handle it and not self aware enough to pass you onto people that do have expertise beyond the ability of the clinic. Make your own choice!

Then in early 2020 I went for my semi-annual cleaning and checkup. I was surprised when he rasied a cleaning by $20, but as a senior citizen on a fixed income he added a $20.00 room cleaning fee in addition. That was over a 33% increase and without any advance notice at all. That goes beyond distasteful to immoral and unethical. I sent a letter and received no response, so I found another dentist who is much more senior friendly. It did occur that this may be a way to eliminate seniors on fixed incomes but it a very distasteful thing to do.

Putting that bias aside, Dr. Kwon is an extremely thorough dentist. You can tell right off the bat he knows what he's doing and you can bet he has had tons of experience doing it. His teeth cleanings are as painless as it can get and he has very good hands. I don't deal very well with pain so if I say a teeth cleaning is bearable... That's saying something. Now onto the good stuff...he's well trained in crowns too, has to get some a couple years ago. Totally painless (because I got numbed) and the crowns were done very nicely. When I was in high school I had to get gum surgery and his recommended periodontist was excellent, couldn't feel a thing and the job was successful! TLDR? Very skilled dentist that understands patient's pain tolerance. Has decades of experience.

The Dr. told me I had two cavities that needed to be filled. I said I just started a new job and that I didn't think my insurance covered it yet. He said he would have his staff contact my insurance for me and check, so I agreed. They came back and said they spoke with my insurance company and that they said it would be covered, so I agreed to have them filled at that time. I had two that needed done. I did one that day and scheduled an appointment for the next week to come back and have the other filled. I went back the next week to get the other one filled and left. The VERY NEXT DAY, I got a call from their office saying that the insurance company wouldn't cover the costs of the fillings and that I owed them $2,000 for the services performed. I of course didn't budget to pay for $2k worth of work done on my teeth so I had to work out a payment plan over the next month to pay for it. Especially since I just started a new job!!! Needless to say, they never actually called the insurance company and figured if I couldn't pay it they would just bill me. I think this is an AWFUL way to do business and exactly how people are put into debt!! I thought I should warn anyone considering going here to make sure to only get services performed on them that they KNOW are covered, and not let them "call" your insurance to check, because they won't! The actual work they did wasn't bad work, but since I had to pay $2k out of pocket for something that would have been free if I wasn't lied to and waited the 4 months until my insurance would cover it, well....sucks!! I will never go back and I guarantee if I pulled a stunt like this with my clients they wouldn't come back either!!

Have you ever heard horror stories about dental work going wrong and wondered how they are allowed…read moreto continue? I never thought it would happen to me but it did here. I went in due to extreme sensitivity, and was told I needed a root canal and crown to save my tooth. This would take 2 hours (this should have been the first and biggest red flag) but being in some pain and already there, I agreed. Sure enough, he went to work on the root canal, 3d printed the "crown" in front of my eyes (2nd red flag) and continued. The crown turned out to be a big filling printed to fit into my molar and glued to it. There was no actual crown or cap. Just a glued piece of something that needed to be filed down along with other molar to keep the bite (3rd red flag). I'd never needed any major dental work in my life and did not know there was supposed to be an actual crown, hence the name. 1 year later, the sensitivity came back which turned into pain. I decided to see a different dentist to find out the root canal was improperly done and got infected over time. I needed to have the molar that was supposed to be saved removed along with the one next to it! NEVER again am I going back there. The damage was too extensive which also explains why his license has been taken away in the past.

He did a crown for me in 1988 and I'm happy to report that it's still in excellent shape. Just got another crown today and expect the same results.
