Just coming back to review Eye 1st again. Dr. Massen is so wonderful. I had a pretty big eye issue about a year ago and she takes all the time in the world to make sure my questions are answered. She remembers me every time, remembers the specific issue (which she personally found after getting shooed away by other doctors) and exactly where it was located on my eyeball. She reviewed my imaging with me and explained every single thing I asked about. She is also great with kids and special needs. The rest of the staff here is absolutely wonderful, as well. From the check-in desk to the check-out woman and everyone in between, Eye 1st Vision has the BEST staff. Each year, they make sure I'm getting the absolute most of my benefits. If there's a rebate on my contacts, they make sure I get it. They also invest in the newest technology and every time I go, they have some new machine to make the exam easier. This last time, I was able to get a better image of my retina without even getting my eyes dilated!! read more

Dr. Mast has been wonderful care for the last 8 years of my being a patient with Ross Eye Care... I do have to point out that the front reception has started to decline in professionalism. I was disappointed at some of the conversation and the lack of attention paid to things like wait times I observed a gentleman state he waited over 45 mins to get a question answered. It's inappropriate to have personal conversations in earshot of the patients and I was not pleased at how loud they got at points. Interactions were pleasant but attention to details would be keen to improve. I have historically left satisfied and would like to continue to experience the same. read more

Had a really weird experience. Not sure why they ask you for all your information including address and insurance before they even try to schedule an appointment. They even asked for my medical insurance during the visit.. weird.. They don't perform a regular yearly vision exam that's covered by the insurance. They make you take a medical eye exam too during your visit that the insurance does not cover so you can pay out of pocket. Every other clinic has that as optional. Really sketchy experience overall. Love love love! Great first experience with them. I came in as a first-time patient and left feeling like, "Lens-crafter who?!" Initially, I was about to have a hissy fit, because my insurance was out of network for Lens Crafters. I've been their client for a long time. Hate change! Honestly, if it wasn't for Dr. Trivedi and the tall African American man who assists with eye exams on the staff, then this review would be lower. Those two are very helpful and thorough with their care! I have an unique eye condition known as Amblyopia that requires a very strong prescription in one eye. I've lived with this my entire life and see an eye doctor every year for exams and updated contact lenses. This was my first time at Eye1st and Dr Trivedi was so thorough with the exam! She even told me about custom made contact lenses which was surprisingly the first time I had heard about them. While in my trial lenses, our country was rocked with the Covid-19 pandemic and medical offices were forced to close. Fast forward to this past week when offices re opened. I was scheduled to see the other doctor in the office. Although I appreciate this other doctor trying to get me in contact lenses that's not custom, I explained to him that I wasn't comfortable as a patient with a non custom lens with a reduced power! He tried to explain that every other doctor I've had has not fitted me in the right lens, but as a patient if I'm not comfortable and literally can't see as clear going from -11.00 / -11.50 down to a -10.00! He continued to push the issue and talk down to me, but again, if I'm not comfortable, just give me what will be more comfortable to me as a patient. My lenses are covered medically so price is not a concern. He was extremely pushy and overly confident that I was just going to LOVE this lens! Smh I left with this new, non custom lens to just try but it was just not working at all. Three days when I called back to say please order the custom lens, the woman I spoke to was just so condescending and frustrated with me after I was trying to explain my information to her. I asked to speak to someone who knew my chart and she said she didn't read it and wasn't aware of my information until after I explained to her. I told her she didn't need to get frustrated with me and as a patient it is important for me to have the correct lenses. She claimed I was imagining things in my head and that when I call back to not ask for her since I've made this up in my head! She was so rude for saying to a patient needing care and assistance. The customer service is just so poor. I've never experienced something like this from a medical office! This will be my first and last time visiting this team. read more

This place is pretty good unless you need glasses. Wait staff was nice, and the doctors/other personnel were competent. However, I ordered glasses 3 weeks ago and have not received word as to when they will be ready. Their optical department told me they would be ready in 1 to 2 weeks. I've called their office 3 times to get an update. I am summarily transferred to their optical department, where I am instructed to leave a message. I have left messages, and no one from their optical department gets back to me. I am left to wonder when my glasses will be ready. Perhaps my experience is atypical, but it has been a frustrating one nonetheless. read more

After many years of receiving glasses that worked well, I would not recommend this company any more for progressive glasses. I have not been able to get a new pair to work at all. I have been seeing Dr. Shida for years. I have always been able to get an appointment at a convenient time. I have never had a long wait, and the technicians have always been incredibly friendly. My annual eye exams have always been thorough, and Dr. Shida has always taken the time to explain things clearly. Everyone with whom I have interacted has been pleasant. Dr. Shida finally convinced me to switch to daily contact lenses, and I hate to admit it, but he was right! They are so much better for my eyes. I have far fewer problems with my allergies with the daily lenses. In fact, I don't think I even realized how much my contacts bothered me until I switched to the daily lenses! It has been well worth the price differential.I have also gotten glasses at this location, and it was a quick and easy process. They have a great selection of frames, and their technicians are great at getting the perfect fit (and they were very patient while I tried on every set of frames in the store...). I have never had any hiccups in their dealings with my vision insurance company. The process has always been smooth and easy. They also usually have great rebates for contact lenses, daily lenses and otherwise. read more

It was my first appointment here and I' sorry but I have to say it was a very unpleasant experience. I had an appointment booked with Dr. Aldina and I was put with Dr. George without notifying me the reason and even I booked the appointment 1 day ago. When I was informed about this during the checkout they even did not show curtsey to apologize on this mix up and were just bothered on taking the money. The doctor initially checked the eyes and after the dilution he was calm and just checked things quickly and said you are all good, whereas he planned to discuss contact lenses with me. Next comes the even worst experience with my glasses. I asked them if their glasses come with anti-scratch and anti-glare and the person who was working with said yes. Then after I received my glasses I found it did not come with anti-glare. When I asked them they said I did not ask them and if I need this then I have to order a new pair of glasses and I would have to pay out of pocket with maximum. This is really deceiving the customer and they just apologized that they did not discuss this option with me. How ridiculous is this, they have to share all good things that would benefit the customer and rather they only get a pair of glasses for name sake without giving satisfaction. Will recommend never ever visiting this office for any purpose else you will regret for your lifetime. read more

I just had the most amazing experience with this company. First from the receptionist who knew exactly who I was when I arrived even though this was my first visit. Dr. T was amazing, friendly, warm inviting and very informative she left me with no questions unanswered. Diamond was the bomb she took all my optical xrays and was very detailed in her explanations. Dr. Shida was amazing! I say this in the best and most appreciative way possible, but I have not spent this long at an optometrist's office in years! The time was NOT spent in the waiting area (maybe waited 3-5 minutes), but with the actual doctor and nurses. I was desperate to find an eye doctor who was a 'family optometrist' and not the type that you'd see once, at a 'chain type' practice, and never see again. The nursing staff was super nice from the get-go. Dr. Shida made the visit feel personal and not super rushed. He took the time to understand my day-to-day habits, my concerns, and my feedback through the contact fitting process. I don't remember the last time an eye doctor scheduled a follow-up to make sure I was liking the contacts I was trying out. Let alone let me try out two pairs to make sure I was going to order the right ones when the time came. Honestly, I know now how much information I was being deprived of at other OD's. I'm a patient that thrives on knowledge and wants/needs to know the WHY behind certain treatments/diagnosis' etc. That is why I am totally fine and appreciate the time I spent at his office because I feel like I was understood. That is how I establish my trust in a doctor. All around an AMAZING experience! He is just the type of doctor I wish I could have in every field of treatment! I've worn glasses and contacts since grade school and never have I ever been so comfortable and informed of the care of my eyes. My latest visit is my second annual visit and just as before the service was quick not in a rushed way but a very streamlined way. My glasses were assessed, then I entered a room for my vision test, then transitioned to another room for health scanning. Lastly, I landed in my last room for fitting and doctor's approval. The doctor was very professional and educated. He was aware of which lens was blurry or better for me without me confirming, his love and expertise was apparent in our short interaction. The ladies were very warm and knowledge too and I love the race and age diversity in this small environment. I received six months supply of quality contacts for $8 after insurance. I paid for the fitting and another fee after copay. It was all within budget for a half year supply. If I return within 90 days for another supply I get a 10% discount plus mail rebate on that order, well worth visiting again and again. I found my home doctor for eye care. read more

After months of itching and running I asked my MD who she uses. As first time patient to Eye 1st I called Dr Shida office and tried to have them squeeze me in ASAP. Eden worked over 20 minutes and successfully had me come in that same day. Everyone was pleasant, professional and knowledgeable. Dr Shida performed tests and made a diagnosis that I never had before. I was very impressed and thankful. Such a great experience compared to Emory Eye clinic. I was a first time patient and was on a very tight schedule they were able to get me in and quite honestly the experience could not have been better. As a New Patient, I called this place twice before my appointment date to confirm charges for a contact lenses eye exam. After providing them with my insurance information, they advised it will be $42 for the appointment. When checking out on the day of the appointment, I was suddenly told it will be $92. This is for "fitting and evaluation of the lenses." I argued with them for an hour and told them of my two phone calls prior to the appointment. I told them I was advised by the front desk it will be $42. They didn't do anything but give me a $5 Starbucks gift card. That is ridiculous. I ADVISE YOU TO PLEASE GO TO A BETTER EYE DOCTOR FOR AN EYE EXAM. These people will rip you off!!!! It's pathetic customer service. The manager is a total butt. read more

I have been going to Eye 1st Vision Center for the past 10 years and have always had a very positive experience. Dr. Shida is as good as it gets and he was able to fit me for CRT lenses which was a life-changing experience. I always had allergies to soft lenses, so having the CRT lenses to sleep in as "temporary LASIK" has been the best thing to ever happen to me. Since I got these at the age of 15, my vision stopped getting worse every year, and I was able to have perfect vision during the day without the discomfort of wearing soft lenses. 10/10 would recommend! read more

They sold me extremely cheap glasses. The lenses lost the top layer of film which caused a huge smudge. The lock of the temple later broke off when I simply took my glasses off. I am offering a 4 star review based on the communication and customer service I've received from established staff (not new) while considering transferring optical care to this office. I have called multiple occasions attempting to gather information that will assist in my decision making for the switch and have receive nothing but pleasant encounters from office manager Jada & technician (I believe) Steve. They have been very diligent, friendly, and pleasant in addressing questions and concerns I have related to the transition of care. There are many new staff members, not in just this office but other optometrists offices as well, that "attempt" in trying to address inquiries but I find it's easily detectable they are not savvy in the profession and that it's always best to asked for a seasoned employee in the practice. There have been "new" employees that have been less than helpful throughout this process by politely offering misinformation. (I'd prefer an 'idk' vs wrong info) However, I truly believe the seasoned professionals here are very kind, patient, and willing to assist. read more

Very disappointing experience with Eye 1st Vision. From start to finish, they were more concerned with money than me. I asked several questions over the phone, and again in person, regarding the nature of my visit and correlating costs. I was never given a straight answer until I contested the bill I received in the mail. Long story short, I had a medical issue (conjunctivitis), and insurance does not pay anything before my deductible is met (as opposed to a typical eye exam). Of course, this was explained to me only AFTER the examination, even though I specifically asked how the nature of my visit affected costs. This resulted in $190 bill (plus $75 for a prescription) to get rid of pink eye. No samples taken, blood tests, or anything unusual. $190 to diagnose pink eye. Dr. Patel also "needed" me to return later in the week to "track progress," presumably for another $190. Thanks for offering; I declined. I was charged $105 on the spot, and sent a bill in the mail for $85 more. I spoke with Patricia, the office manager, about the situation, and she took off the "refraction exam" cost of $30 because I'm a "special customer". Patricia was condescending. I guess she can afford to be that way working for "the best eye center in Atlanta" according to her. I can add more, but am exhausted even thinking about Eye 1st. read more

I am at this office right now! I left a review and a detailed email with management about their crappy customer service particularly a person that works in optical ibis saravia... last yr this guy accused me of stealing. There were several ppl in here and I was the only black person and he followed me through the store during my entire experience and once it was time to check out he had the most nasty attitude I'd ever experienced. After chatting with management Patricia they insisted he was the best and didn't understand. Bc This place is across the street from my employer I decided to come bk I didn't have time to go thru this process again of finding an eye dr. Now I'm here today and he is the only person here. I sit down and share with him that the glasses don't fit and they are hurting me... he starts barking at me I should know this information already and that they would not fit with my prescription and that the things I purchased this time were diff from before! That was not explained to me by the prior associate that rang me up and suggested I get these frames... so after ibis continues to insist I should know this he tells me that I need to go to the person that helped me... so I asked for the other associate vanisha, who sub-courteously tried to defend her co workers poor behavior.... I am sick and tired of the racist acts, poor customer service and incompetent staff... it is not my job as a consumer to know exactly what my prescription should be and what lens and frames go with what! The employees are rude!!!! I was called to pick up my contacts, when I went to pick them up they couldn't find them, so I had to wait another week while they reordered them. When they were finally ready, I went to pick them up (again) and the prescription was wrong. Then I had to call and reschedule another appointment - this time the employees including the doctor (all had an attitude). How is this my fault? If the employees would all stop horseplaying, gossiping while in a professional environment then I'm sure my contacts would've been correct the first time. Yesterday, I received an automatic call saying my contacts were ready for pick up, but when I went to pick them up, the contacts were a trial pair. My original appointment was November 25th and I still haven't received my original contacts yet. read more
