If anyone is thinking about taking a vehicle to Windsor Park Chevron in Newport News, VA for ANY…read moreauto work. Please don't. My car broke down in August they said that it was starter, So they replaced it. Six weeks later the car broke down again with the symptoms. Again we had them to tow it. This time they said that it was a fuse that had blown. Again we were charged. Two weeks later the car broke down again, this time they said it was a fuse again. They charged us for towing since they had just replaced a fuse two weeks ago. three days later the car broke down again. my husband changed the same fuses that they supposedly had changed the two previous times. one by one the fuses blew. so we had the car towed to another auto shop that was closer to the forth breakdown area. anyway we were not taking the car back to them anymore. it was clear that they had no idea of what was really wrong with the car. my husband and i both asked were they had gotten the starter from the mechanic said that he did not know. this statement clearly confirmed all of our doubts about this shop. any time a mechanic says that he does not know where he bought a starter from. but he did not that he had to return the old starter in order to get a coil charge. By the second time we clearly knew that it was not the starter, plus the car kept breaking down in the Newport news area. we figured that the car was under warranty since each time the car was doing the same thing. once the car was turned off, it would not start at random times. the lights, horn, door noises all still worked. which ruled out the battery. Bypass Auto in Saluda finally fixed our vehicle. They knew exactly what was wrong with the car after my husband had described what the car had been doing. especially after all the previous breakdowns. Windsor Park Chevron mechanics are not trained and are very incompetent when it comes to fixing vehicles. They will give you the runaround about where they purchase parts from. they would not answer the telephone when we called to talk to them. the fourth breakdown mind you that we had just picked up our vehicle three days before from Windsor Park Chevron. My husband spoke with the mechanic Mike and told him about this fourth breakdown. Mike asked if we needed to have the car towed back in. Yeah right, we had given them three chances to fix the car. and we had definitely given them enough money for the wrong diagnose, and frequent breakdowns. To have had the car towed from Saluda to Newport News would have probably been $250 or more. When we spoke with the owner Kim Young, he stated that we should have brought the car back to them for the fourth breakdown that by the process of elimination he knew that it was not the starter. Kim Young was quick to state that had they fixed the vehicle the fourth time, we would have still been charged. These people call themselves certified mechanics and auto shop repair manager. They would have still charged us for the starter relay switch, when they replaced a perfectly good starter. Because they diagnosed the vehicle wrong three times. MY WORDS FOR ANYONE DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO WINDSOR PARK CHEVRON, I WOULD NOT GO BACK THERE TO PUMP UP MY TIRE. The mechanic is certifed alright. certified in not knowing what he is doing, and certified at ripping people off. I am sure that we were not the first ones that they have ripped off with a vehicle. think about what i have written. i contacted the BBB they could not do anything since I had taken the car to the other shop to get fixed. any time they have a sign across the shop that says we have our own parts. they lied from the time that they towed our car. we should have known better than to trust them, since we could barely understand a word that they said.

I purchased the ticket late the night before and scratched it the following morning at approximately 9:00 AM, revealing a $10 win. I then drove directly to this location, arriving between 9:15 and 9:20 AM, to cash the ticket. The employee at the counter scanned my ticket. I clearly heard the confirmation sound indicating a winning ticket. Despite this, she repeatedly rescanned the ticket and then informed me the system showed it had already been claimed. This is impossible. The ticket had just been revealed, and I came straight to the store. When the manager on duty became involved, she was dismissive and offered no assistance. I was told I would need to drive to the Virginia Lottery office in Hampton to resolve the issue. Requiring a customer to travel to a lottery office over a $10 prize--when the problem appears to stem from the store's lottery system or procedures--is unreasonable. While the dollar amount is small, the issue is not. This situation raises serious concern that similar errors may be affecting other customers. The staff showed no empathy, took no responsibility, and placed the entire burden on me. I will be going to the Hampton Lottery office to prove the ticket is valid, but this should never have been necessary. Warning to others: If you win on a scratch-off at this location, you may experience the same problem. This store does not stand behind the tickets it scans or verifies.

The people are pleasant, if they're out of something and you tell them, they promptly refill it. On several occasions, they didn't have a particular item in the hot case and each time they offered to make one fresh for me if I didn't mind waiting. This place is busy, but they work fast to clear it out. It's clean and the service is great, can't ask for more honestly.

I brought our car to this place for a repair and specified the front left tire where I visually saw the bolt. It was done in the afternoon and my wife drove the car to run some errands. Later that evening I drove us to get some dinner and I heard that sound again. I inspected the tire and saw the bolt was still there. I was quite upset and called the station but the technicians were gone for the day. I asked them to please leave a message for the owner as I need to understand what happened. The next day, I spoke to the owner (Pete) and we determined that there must have been 2 separate punctures on 2 different tires. He suggested I bring in the car that morning so he could look at it. (Keep in mind, this was a Sunday morning where the shop is normally closed.) After arriving to the station, I pointed out the bolt in the front left tire and Pete handled the repair himself. We waited about 30 minute and it was done. And, given the misunderstanding on the initial tire repair, he did not charge me. I left very happy and feeling confident that my car was safe to drive several hours back home. Thanks Pete!

The manager Paul, to "Make", K-ski (sorry I couldn't get your name right) Isaiah, and all the others that helped make my car look as good as possible. It's a great place, with nice people and lots of features, unlimited vacuuming, window cleaner, lots of towels, car mat cleaner, high pressure air to get all the stuff out of the cracks, as well as a air pump. And lots of smiles handing out air fresheners. It's not always the easiest to get in and out of during rush hour but other than that this is an awesome place and a good deal for the money. Thanks!

While going through the wash, my tire sensor alarm went off noting air loss. When I came out of the wash, my tire was flat and the valve stem was torn off with damage to my tire. I asked to speak to the manager. "Mark" returned and stated "that's not factory." Not sure what that meant, but "factory" terms have nothing to do with my tire being damaged while going through the wash. This visit cost me a tow and a new tire repair. The staff showed no concern for the damages caused by their establishment. They did not offer any resolution or assistance. I will not be returning. Disappointing business and poor customer service.
