Each…read moretank has it's own lines with one tank feeding to a fireplace, and another feeding to stoves and clothes dryers. Thursday morning before delivery all the stoves and dryers were fine. When I tried to use the stove after delivery, there was no gas. I tried the dryer with the same result. I even tried the fireplace on the other tank and got the same result. I then went outside to determine if the valves were open, and they were. I then called SS, but by then they were closed and the answering service took the information and said that someone would get back to me that evening or the next morning. No one called, so I called again Sunday afternoon. The answering service said that they had my first message requesting a delivery! I than explained again that I had had a delivery, but no gas was coming into the house from either tank. The service then contacted SS. The SS serviceman told me that I had to pay $250 for him to come and check the tanks, or I could wait until 8 am Monday morning and call the office. I work 1 1/2 hours from home and I have to be to work by 8 am. I would have to take a day off to call and have a serviceman come to the house. Besides this, I was supposed to host Thanksgiving dinner for my family from out of state. I had planned on preparing a lot of the meal that weekend but could not because I had no stove or oven. I also could not do laundry. And SS wanted me to take a day without pay or pay them $250 to have them fix whatever they had done! I ended up canceling Thanksgiving Dinner. 32 people will have to find somewhere else to go because I was unable to cook.

He couldn't close the tank anymore and propane was hissing out of the tank. After one hour he said I can now drive because only air is coming out of the tank. I drove 30 miles to Campingworld in Winchester, VA. The manager there looked at my motorhome and said he can't help me and didn't know who could. Amerigas in Winchester denied help too. I called Southern States in Stephens City, VA and Wayne offered immediately help. He was shocked because not air was still hissing out of my tank but propane. A spark could easily have caused an explosion or the heat of my engine while driving. He put immediately an adapter on the tank and the bleeding stopped. I am a 72 year old woman and was frightened to death. But no one was willing to help but Wayne. Thank you so much Wayne!

Town & Country had the lowest current price by quite a bit! In addition, the man who answered the phone was very friendly and knowledgeable. He knew immediately pricing, appointment times, delivery policy etc. I found this to not be true of some other companies. For example, upon calling some of the others the person answering the telephone did not have current prices or know their companies policy on minimum delivery amount etc. They had to have someone call me back. Weird and very annoying. Who has time for that. So I appreciated Town & Country's quick and friendly response. I just received my delivery yesterday. The delivery person was quick and left my bill and a small gift of a nice mug and magnet and company info at the door. Very nice touch! Will use this company again in the future I am sure.

I have always had relatively good experiences with Valley Energy. However, I'm now done based on…read morethis past experience. I guess it does take only one bad experience. Poor management when questioned. I had an issue about whether 800 gallons was actually delivered to my home. I have a 1,000 gallon propane tank -- when I got to about 150 to 175 gallons, I called for a refill. When I received the refill, they refilled to 800 gallons (which is typical -- 80% total). They gave me a bill for exactly 800 gallons delivered. I questioned the invoice because I knew I called in when there was no less than 150 gallons, which means if I had 150 and they put 800 in that I'd have 950 total. They said they put in 800 and my tank must have been completely at zero and that my gauge must be wrong. I check my gauge every week and know it was not at zero or even close to it. My email was initially ignored, then it was clearly misread when it was responded to and not sent to management. I had to call to get a manager (or I think they connected me to a dispatcher), who tried to placate me to get me off the phone with the understanding he would follow up in a couple of ways, which he never did. When I finally followed up a few weeks later by email, the assistant contacted the the manager (or dispatcher) who told her to pass along that the driver who made the delivery was contacted and said that there were in fact 800 gallons delivered and everything seemed ok at the time of delivery. My emails to Valley Energy and my discussions were clear in that I was not seeking not to pay for gas I did not receive. I was interested in finding out if my gauge was wrong to have it fixed, or to learn if the gas truck that did deliver to my home reported the wrong amount as being delivered (they track all amounts all day) -- I indicated perhaps at the end of the day there may have been an extra 200 gallons on the truck. In any event, they handled it wrong and they lost a customer. I was with them four years and will be no longer. This experience leaves me with a taste of mismanagement, possible dishonesty and siphoned gas in my mouth. I'm not suggesting Valley Energy actually billed for gas they didn't provide to me, but the way they handled this incident, it gives me great pause to consider whether it is just bad customer service. I've lost my faith in them.

Limited visibility conditions during darkness can be avoided especially during non emergency and should be avoided. I tried to contact the manager and left a message to return my call but never heard back. I guess they weren't too concerned about customer feedback. Today they showed up early with 3 technicians, the lead tech (Jerry) was able to get the fireplace up and running again in about 30 minutes. They all worked to give my fireplace a thorough cleaning as well, and it has been long overdue. I like a contractor that shows up on time, knows their stuff, and leaves with everything in working order, plus they left everything cleaner and nicer than it was when they arrived. Jerry gave me sound advice about future self maintenance. All of that for about $100, not bad at all. If I ever have an issue again, I know who to call.

Now when you have an emergency, you're on your own. This was the coldest week of the year. I even called last week to say I was concerned about running low. They scheduled me for Tuesday which I didn't think was soon enough; I ran out Saturday night in 18-degree weather and high winds. Too bad. I had to call back the answering service after waiting until 2 am for a call back to be informed that they would get back to me in the morning and then was hung up on. Well, it's morning, still nothing. I tried to call, but nobody answers now. I presume she recognized my number. So, here's my recommendation: If you use AC&T, it's generally o.k., the drivers are great, the oil's pretty clean and you'll be o.k. most of the time but keep some K-1 on hand 'cause you might need it!

Last heating season 2024/2025 - they let me run out of propane (automatic delivery customer). This heating season 2025/2026 - they let me run out of propane the end of December and AGAIN today. December had to call multiple times and waited over 10 hours without heat until someone showed up. Today I have called twice already - still no return phone call as to when someone will be here. Back on the December issue, they also told me they would give me a credit on the charges (since I'm on automatic delivery). But of course, they did not make any adjustments to my charges. Customer service is horrible and they cannot get automatic deliveries coordinated properly.
