AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS!! They aren't even professional enough to be called 'amateurs'!! ...maybe they can change tires and put in a stereo here or there, but beyond that...AVOID THEM! I wrote a review for these guys in Jan 2018 after we had just dove into a large project that was expected to take 2 years. I'd take it down if I could remember my old login, but if you read my review from then you will see it was glowing, to say the least. 5 stars! I was excited about the plan they put forth and the timeline. I knew it would not be cheap but that's expected on a project like this. What I've learned the VERY HARD way since then (my attorney is now involved): 1) these guys are not professional! They do not know how to treat people, yet alone customers. They do not give regular updates or even return calls or emails unless they want your credit card number to charge you. They would go months (not 1 or 2, but 6+) without returning any of my calls or emails for even a 2 second update. It was painful! 2) they are very dishonest! 3 years ago in May, I was told the vehicle would be ready by Memorial Day for the summer. It wasn't! I was forced to rent a second car for the summer as a result. SAME EXACT thing happened the following two summers! EVB had the vehicle for more than SIX YEARS! This year, they said: "...just come pick it up...it's drivable but not finished." WHAT??!? Yes, it moves but it does not pass inspection because they didn't finish some of the even more basic stuff, like bolting in the seats and seat belts! I'm learning that I've paid for a lot of things on this vehicle that were NEVER done! 3) upon picking up the vehicle, I took it to another mechanic with real experience on cars from the 70's. He said: "is the other shop run by a bunch of kids...? Someone forced the wrong bolts onto several screws, cracked two brackets, cracked the hose, didn't charge the A/C at all, etc., etc. I may now need to get an entirely new unit! ...and then there's..." The list went on and on and on. I paid a ton of money for service and parts that may need to be entirely redone. The list is frankly too long to publish. All I can say is that after 6.5 years and having spent thousands to rent another car while these geniuses played around with the one I already owned, I will likely have to spend another $10-15k to finish the vehicle so it'll run properly, yet alone be anywhere like it should have been. read more

BE WARNED. EXTREME VEHICLE BUILDERS ARE A COMPLETE SCAM. Besides being crooks these guys are completely incompetent. I spent $2500 on a lift kit and tires in April.... The kit never came so they re ordered another kit... eventually came but it was for the wrong model jeep. So again they re ordered the kit... not until after I dropped my jeep off did they realize the kit was broken. Now it's been 5 months since I initially ordered the lift kit so I told them to cancel it and I would like a refund. Johnny said no problem and I would be credited back the money... over 2 months after that still no refund / no kit / no communication. I call these dudes constantly with no answer or call back. I gave it a few months to make sure my engine didnt fall out because of some of these reviews. I have nothing but good news to convey. I had them put on a BDS leveling kit and some new rubbers. I live an hour away so I stayed the entire day to have it complete. This team is nothing but professionals. They were extremely nice and even included me in their lunch plans, as they had my vehicle in the back. I got this done back in January and have been living it. The Nitto's are great tires, I feel I could have gone one more size up in tires but at the end of the day, I am very happy with the work and the professionalism of this place. If I had to give one "needs improvement" it would be to upgrade their waiting room. They desperately need a new couch, coffee table and maybe a TV lol. Went in on a Saturday to speak about having some work done on my lifted 04 f-150. Woman and man at desk didn't know much of anything. Only knew that they weren't going to be able to see my truck for "a while". That was Ok with me. I took a business card. I Left my name + number + email, was told I would receive a callback by Tuesday the latest. It's been over a month now. Never got a call back. I called in a few times within a week or so and was told I would get a call back. Nothing. Very disappointing since they had a great recommendation from a trusted friend of mine. read more

I wish I had looked at their rating before contacting them but I was so excited about my new Jeep and they were the closest custom shop to me. I'll start from the beginning - their pricing is comical, I was buying the front bumper from Extreme Terrain (leading retailer) for custom Jeep parts who rated the install at 1 hour - EVB quoted me 3 hours but "don't worry we only charge for the hours we work" - I ordered the suspension and lift kit from them because I didn't want any issues with missing parts, etc. I overpaid but didn't care and was told they have the kit and can do the work soon. A week later, after calling them three times - I'm told the kit won't be in for 3 weeks. I don't want to wait 3 weeks so I ordered it online and got it 2 days later. When I called to cancel my order I have to fight with them to agree - they wanted to charge me a re-stocking fee for the parts they told me they had on hand. Just checked my CC and here we are a week later with NO CREDIT from them. Time to take it in my own hands. DO NOT under any circumstances work with these people. I went to EVB for installation of an aftermarket bull bar that I purchased myself, believing this would be an easy installation For any shop to do. I am disabled and could not possibly do this myself. After being told by four well known shops in my area including my chevy dealership that they would not install any aftermarket items that were not purchased through their store I found EVB. From the first phone call I knew these guys were professionals. When I called and told them what I needed they simply said "No problem at all bring it in, we'll get it installed " and they did. I didn't believe a shop like this would take on such a small job. I found them to be extremely good natured ,informative and most importantly experienced. If you want precision, skill, expertise, and on the mark diagnostics, then go to EVB. Up front, Adam was able to diagnose my issue just off my verbal description. He got me in for some adjustments as soon as possible. John, the technician did the work and my truck rides like new. The experience was excellent. Work is done on all truck vehicles and they had several customer trucks that were very cool builds. They get or have the parts you need. With regard to my vehicle, I could not be more pleased with their work. On top of that, staff is most pleasant. Incredible guys. Just Incredible. I was on my way to NYC for a work contract in my 1974 Airstream Argosy Motorhome when the engine died just outside of the ironically named Mechanicsburg, PA. Not a good situation. I don't know many people in the Northeast and I especially don't know any mechanics. I contacted a friend who I know is a total gear head and asked him if he knew anyone who could help me out. He told me about Jim at EVB and that they work on Jeeps and off road stuff but maybe Jim would work on my camper since he also has campers with the same type of motor (a 454). My buddy called Jim up and thankfully he said that he'd help us out. I had the motorhome towed to Danbury and went to meet with Jim about it. Before we even spoke though, I walked through his shop and noticed one of his guys spray painting some silver screws black so that they'd look nicer when applied to the bumper he was installing. Having been in the car business before, I thought "now that's attention to detail." Upon meeting Jim, I knew we'd come to the right place and felt confident he and his mechanic, Chris, were the right guys for the job. Jim explained to us (the wife and I) what was wrong, what needed to be done and that he intended on going through the entire camper for us to make sure that we'd have trouble free adventures for the foreseeable future. The motorhome needed a new engine and to have the entire front suspension and steering column rebuilt. He advised us to go with a Jasper 454 engine as it had the 3yr 100,000 mile warranty, they cover a larger percentage of shop labor, and there is a nationwide network of shops that can do the warranty work.. He also had Chris work on our generator which hadn't really worked since we'd purchased the motorhome a month before. The work was spectacular (minus the generator...more on that in a minute). Expensive, yes, but spectacular. It took EVB two months to complete all the repairs and the bill came in considerably higher than any of us expected, but we were ok with that because the work was quality. I mean really well done. When we test drove the motorhome after the new motor and new front end were done, we seriously could not believe it was the same vehicle. It sounded great. It rode great. The steering was nice and tight, the motor hummed (quietly). It was amazing. We were so happy with the work these guys did. I honestly wish I could take all of my vehicles to them (but can't as I live in Texas). Jim is honest and forthright. And he really does care about the work that comes out of his shop. Chris is an expert and did a fantastic job of showing us around the motor and how to care for it. Jim spent all kinds of time showing us things about our motorhome that we didn't even know we needed to know and in addition, he even drove 45min to where we were staying in the camper to check on the generator when it wasn't working right (turned out to be low oil). I've honestly never had such a disastrous mechanical issue and can say that this was the best experience from a repair shop that I could have asked for. Jim is also really responsive to emails and has helped advise us on an off road vehicle we recently purchased. I think maybe we bug him too much but he still responds. :) On a not so great note though, the generator has again stopped working and we need to have it checked, but overall, the camper runs like a cheetah. read more

I'm not a fan. There aren't too many builders around so my choices were limited. I have to say, I was taken back by the gear and size of the place. What I'm not happy about is the damage they caused to my truck from the lift they installed. After leaving the place, it wasn't until I got home that I noticed grease all over the inside of my fender-wells. The boots on the axles were torn in the same spot on both sides. They say it wasn't from them but they offered to fix it labor free but I had to pay for the axles and that I did, I paid 2.5x the cost for the cheapest new axles around. I felt that it didn't matter that I spent $6500. Their attitude was arrogant and dismissive. It was obvious that they wanted me to buy more stuff or move on. I won't go back and I know options are limited so be aware of what can happen if you do use them. read more

So I bought a jeep wrangler that needed a frame repair, no sweat I am a welder I can handle some metal work.... But it turns out the frame was way worse than I had thought and I called the dealer looking to see if a frame was available or a good used one the man at the counter tells me to " Go see Adam at E.V.B. he knows all about this problem" ...best move I made Adam ,without seeing my jeep explained what I was going to find and presented me with all of the Pre made components plus some experienced how to knowledge and off to the races I went! Went there to get a lift on my jeep , ordered one , told about a week and itl be installed , two weeks goes by , I call and the brake lines are in , third week calling leaving voicemails no luck , same thing fourth week , finally block my number and strangely someone picks up , I show up get my parts and they say brake lines arnt in , even though I was told they were in two weeks prior , installed them on someone else's jeep ? Anyways they had to reorder , now this is a entire month , I even still tried to reschedule and got told ok maybe next month were busy a lot of vehicles here , I said how long have they been waiting and they said two weeks ! , anyways after my experience here I def won't be back , take this in consideration before you do business with them read more

EVB installed a cold air intake and a bed lighting kit a couple months ago on my truck. The first upsetting thing about my experience is that it was twice the cost and it took twice the time to put in the lighting kit than the intake. They tried to work with me on the price due to the cost after it taking so long, that was cool of them. But what really pisses me off is that the other day I pop the hood of my truck and found that the intake was just HANGING! It disconnected from the top of the engine and the housing for the filter was hanging off. I don't know for how long, but it's only been 2 months. I didn't want to drive around with it hanging so I had to tighten about 5 loose bolts. 1 was the main bolt for the housing around the filter (hanging on by a couple of threads I may add). After finally getting a hold of Adam (which took me driving in on 2 separate occasions because I never got a call back), I was told that there's nothing that they can do because I fixed the problem that they left me with. I asked for a refund of some sort off of the labor and got the run around. It's pretty obvious that $130 is more important than doing good by a customer. I had the usual and expected bad sounds from the rear diff. of my 2006 Rubicon. The factory rear locker was ready to shed parts. Met with Jim and Adam and they had a plan together in 5 minutes. They did not over sell parts or recommend more than I need. If anything, they stopped me from spending money for the front diff as they explained why it was not needed. They installed a ARB rear locker, new 35 spline axles, installed firewall forward new ARB compressor and relays to keep all existing Rubicon wiring and operations. They fixed small issues as needed and added a 3/4 inch spacer to flatten out rake due to winch and bumpers. The Mechanic and gear expert there "John" proved to be a real pro and was happy to explain all the work while my jeep was on the lift. The jeep is incredible, and returned to me on budget and on time. Im a aircraft mechanic and still impressed with the approach, execution and results of this job.
