I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the $2 Wednesday night tacos given pretty below average $2 taco offerings at other pub chains. This is an Alberta origin chain as well, which I value, and they have Canadian craft beer from Phillips and other west coast breweries on tap. As it should be! They also donate 50 cents to the local food bank for each pint of Big Rock; the only other chain which does something similar is Sherlock's and that's specific to one beer. I'm also impressed at the large clean washroom and a genius door opener where you can use your foot to open the washroom door and keep your freshly washed hands clean. Bonus star for that! Tonight felt like a true homecoming. I arrived a little early and enjoyed walking through the neighbourhood before settling in. Madeline, our server, was warm, attentive, and absolutely lovely. Madeline also brought out a purple martini with olives that looked divine and tasted even better -- one of the most beautiful cocktails I've had in Edmonton. We both chose seafood dishes, and every plate was fresh, flavourful, and perfectly done. Pip manages to be elevated yet relaxed, with a real community vibe.
