Love my neighborhood fresh pasta shop! Everything is made fresh. Love their truffle mushroom…read moreravioli. I grab them for those low key and fast dinner whip up! I buy fresh pasta sauces. They have just about everything your Italian cravings desire. The staff is so friendly and always willing to help you decide what to take home. I used to go get my weekly fix of fresh pasta for years. Finally I tried the new place. Same offerings. Different sizes to satisfy clientele budgets. I could just stand in front of the freezer all day to pick my selection. Today was Lobster Sorrentinos- mini ravioli stuffed with lobster and I picked a pesto sauce for the topping. Easy to prepare at home. Definitely delicious to consume. I didn't even check to what fresh pastas were available; this is what I used to purchase all the time. Service was spot on. I walked into the store and a clerk welcomed me and asked if I needed help. Nice. Prices were reasonable. And BTW, they supply all the neighboring restaurants and then some, with the fresh pasta on their menus. Go try it. I know I'll be back. I'm sure I'll be able to up my rating to 5 stars with my next update.

Especially coming from an Italian heavy city like Chicago I was very happy with the pasta. The salmon gnocchi is my go to. I dream about that dish. The salmon is always perfectly prepared and the gnocchi are delicious. My BFF and husband who have accompanied me on many occasions have tried various pastas from the menu and all were very good- especially the raviolis, but the salmon is my favorite so far and I'm a creature of habit. I have tried every dessert and I really like the Pavlova. But the chocolate cake they had the last time I went was amazing. I don't like very heavy chocolate desserts but it was perfect. The ambiance is great. I love that it's casual but the food is still elevated. The service was good for Miami. For Chicago? No. But definitely very good for Miami. So if you're coming from another city just remember Miamians move differently. Lol.

I ordered the spicy pasta and it had spice but was also very bland, like eating a cardboard box with pepper flakes on it. It looked like it would be delicious but every bite was just sad. My husband loves Italian food and when I asked how his dish was he said it was okay but we would never want to come back here again. It's a shame too because they said they make all the pasta themselves and the prices were reasonable but we still don't want to go out to buy "meh food."

My boyfriend and I shared two slices of pizza - grandma's slice which is just tomato sauce and lots of garlic; (we agreed that this one was the better one of the two) and the a vegetable slice. Both slices were very delicious and tasted fresh. We also shared a sub sandwich with sausage, peppers & onions and parmesan cheese and this was exceptional! The bread was perfectly crunchy out the outside, soft on the inside and soooo fresh. I'm excited most to try more of their sandwiches. We also bought some frozen / packaged goods to take home and enjoy for later. We made the meatballs, fresh pasta and sauce later that evening and everything tasted just as good. The quality was not compromised from being frozen and we were really happy about that. The store itself is very cozy with aisles of oils, sauces, vinegars, dried goods, sweets, spices, etc. It can be a little overwhelming to look through it all. There are coolers of frozen foods and the counter offers fresh cheeses and meats, etc. All in all, this is a fantastic spot to grab a bite to eat, grab something for later or both!

Underwhelming birthday…read more.. After doing a bit of research, I decided on this restaurant to celebrate my birthday. When we walked in, it was dead (came around 7:30 on a Friday). I tried to order two different drinks (sparkling rose and something with passion fruit and they didn't have it). That was pretty disappointing! Appetizer wise, there was nothing that stood out so I just went straight for the entree, which was the pesto pasta. I added chicken and got it with the penne noodle. While we waited, we were given some pieces of bread and oil. The dish was ok but didn't wow me. Unfortunately, I'd consider it one of those things where you'll eat it if you're starving but I wish I had gotten something else. I didn't bother with the dessert or anything else to offer and hightailed it out sooner rather than later.

Italian food isn't normally my go-to, but I decided to branch out and ordered the Margherita pizza -- and wow, I'm so glad I did! It was absolutely fantastic. The rest of the table went with more classic Italian dishes, and everyone was raving about their meals. Lots of clean plates and happy diners around the table! But the highlight of the night came after dinner. A gentleman -- who I'm guessing may have been the owner -- came over and said he wanted to show us something. Naturally we said yes! He led us to the back of the building where we discovered what can only be described as a hidden speakeasy-style space. Such a cool surprise and a really fun vibe. The only small hiccup was that after waiting a bit, no one came by to take our drink order. Since we had other stops planned for the evening, we eventually decided to continue on with the night. Overall though, the food, service during dinner, and the unique atmosphere made this a fantastic experience. If you're looking for great classic Italian food at reasonable prices, I would absolutely recommend stopping in. And who knows... you might even get the secret tour!
