They have made it into a fantastic climate controlled storage facility. There are multiple entrances that are controlled by electronic codes so you can easily access your unit from the shortest possible distance. The manager, Scott, made the entire process very easy from the initial contract to the orientation and to the cancellation process. One thing that really bothers me is the continued price increase! This coming August 1st will be the 4th price increase for me within a one-year span. Here's a breakdown of two units that I rent. 06/24/24 - $198.00 on 8/24/2024 - $220.00 on 4/25/2025 - $224.00 on August 1st the new payment will increase to $232.00. Then add $15 for insurance. My second unit 6/24/2024 - $207.00 on 10/24/2024 - $232.00 on 1/24/2025 - $236.00 on August 1st the new payment will increase to $250.00. Then Add $15 for insurance. Over the given timeline Unit one has increased by $34 + $15 for Insurance and Unit two has increased by $43 + Insurance. Nothing in the mailed/email document to tell you why? Nothing for the Military, just one month reduced pricing? I like the location, it's very convenient/easy to get to. But this has convinced me to just invest in a shed. Or just pay another storage facility for the same size units $99 a month. I'm stinking to this review.

It's clean and the spaces are roomy and appropriately priced. They are no hidden fees on the backend and no skimming or trying to skim a little bit of money every month. If you have homeowners insurance, perfect. You don't have to PROVE that you have it three months in advance before the renewal and then again after you have renewed. They aren't emailing you constantly about things that are irrelevant or have anything to do with your space. This company is fair. This company is awesome. I have had THE WORST experience with Storage King USA. Instead of using the self-proclamation of…read morecalling themselves "king" the operative word should probably be JESTERS instead. It's quite unfortunate because it is in a good location and they are one of the few storage places that provide climate controlled units. Additionally, I figured it would be a good way to use the extra space for a larger unit to store my seasonal wardrobe since I would be in the area off and on during the year. The first red flag that I blew aside was the sign in the office warning people about a "certain" type of lock that would be acceptable otherwise they would charge an additional fee in order for you to replace it to the specified round lock they want you to have for it is their "policy." Fortunately, I have used storage units for every school year, so I had a round lock. But it was a little odd that Storage King USA would have that as a policy. A lock is a lock and whatever type of lock the customer has should be their prerogative, at least I would think. The next issue I had with Storage King USA was the fact the security gate was no working. What is the point of having a gate, but it's broken? And another thing was the step up in order to get into the inside climate controlled units was a bit annoying. I mean it seems either the platform would be level to the the ground OR have a small ramp in order to roll things on a cart into the space. Another issue was there weren't any carts in sight. Next was the matter of being a homeowner and having my OWN insurance coverage that covers renter's insurance for storage unit within my policy which I explained that upon the rental agreement. It appeared that they were extremely eager to charge the additional fee until I showed proof. I received at least two email warnings before I left the property to remind me that I needed to get that paperwork to them. It was bizarre. I was told that my policy was set to renew in March which I knew as it usually has to be renewed after one year, but Storage King USA made sure they sent me ANOTHER email to remind me of my upcoming renewal and that I needed to have a copy sent to them. This email in addition to the previous ones was sent in January as a reminder and then more reminders in February. It seemed as if they were chomping at the bit to charge additional fees. Again, another red flag. The next to the last straw for me was yet another email to now inform me that I would be assessed the additional fee because I did not send a copy of my homeowners renewal paperwork. This was ridiculous because I renewed my policy on February 19, 2023 and I sent a copy of the paid receipt to Storage King USA. Unfortunately, this was not good enough for Storage King USA because I had failed to send them the entire policy once again even though the paperwork and the language of the paperwork were the same. Now my patience with this company was growing thin. I spoke to Paulinna, the manager, via email to discuss the situation; however, it was of no use. She stood on "the policy" rather than common sense. And her demeanor of standing on the policy was less than customer service appropriate for a manager for I found her a bit snarky. The final last straw for me was the letter I received indicating that the rent for the space I had was going up another $30 dollars within the next two months. It was at this time that I finally had enough of this foolishness and I was out of there! Fortunately, I found another place across town that is also locally owned which was one of the reasons I selected this place, but if they cannot appreciate business here there will always be other options where I can and will go!
