Unprofessional Experience with Store Manager Jose Gonzalez and misleading customers I purchased what was supposedly listed as an abandoned storage unit at this extra space storage location, and it was a total scam. The unit wasn't actually abandoned it was just filled with trash, paperwork and leftover items from multiple other units that looked like they had been swept together and resold as one. There were personal family photos, children's clothes, and random items from several families of different backgrounds. It was obvious this unit was just a pile of discarded belongings that the facility didn't want to clean out themselves. The store manager, Jose Gonzalez has a long history of doing this according to the storage buying community I've been in this business for years we've heard similar complaints from other buyers and vendors who say they've had issues with him taking advantage of other customers or banning people who speak up about it in this facility mostly as well. We finished cleaning the unit and Gonzalez the store manager became a bit aggressive at the fact we just told him that the unit felt like a scam that he threatened to ban us just because we made that comment not only that but threatened to call the police simply because we wanted to take pictures of the unit we had just cleaned as proof. He falsely accused us of trespassing, even though we still had our access code and were finishing up our work he was unprofessional that he didn't even let us finish signing our paperwork I'm sure he was upset at the fact that we didn't pick up the urine and droppings and the rat poop that was there It was clearly unsafe for us to clean, overall this experience was unacceptable the store manager gives a bad example of what being a manger is. He's threatening, disrespectful and dishonest very unprofessional this experience and attitude gives extra space storage a horrible reputation I hope corporate investigates this location and the way abandoned units are being resold and handled customers deserve respect not threats and scams. read more

I reserved a unit and got a confirmation e-mail that said the unit would be ready for me on a certain date. It said the lock I purchased from them would be inside the unit. I counted on that e-mail, which included all access codes, and showed up after the office hours to find that the unit had not been readied and, even when I opened it, no lock was awaiting me inside. I could not put in the contents of my van because there was no way to secure the unit. I called immediately and left a voicemail. I received no return call then or the next morning. A little bit into the next day, I called again and the Assistant Manager, Kat, answered. I told her the issue and she said she would go over and place a lock inside. I asked for some acknowledgment of the additional expense incurred for the extra day of van rental. She said there was nothing she could do. I asked for the manager. Jose, the Manager, got on with a surly attitude and said that they would not do anything for me other than offering to cancel my lease agreement with them so that I could go elsewhere. I asked why they did not stand behind remedying what was clearly their error and misrepresentation and he was simply adamant that nothing would be done. I would not recommend this facility because you can see that they simply do not care to (a) do their jobs properly which would have avoided the entire interaction, or (b) make it up to customer in any way whatsoever when they fail to do their jobs properly. Their attitude and competence are clear. I will be writing to upper management after writing this review. My biggest concern is to foreworn others of how they may be treated if they choose to do business with this site. read more

Very disappointing. Rolling door to access building was broken and wide open. The person before me had to go to another level to find a cart, she commented they were all scattered. Where the carts are to be left there were piles of garbage including broken glass. To get to my unit i have to go through a door that does not latch so had to hold it while getting and pushing the cart. Wanted to returned to finish moving my stuff in but don't feel safe going by myself. Not sure i'll keep it long Update: I am dying to get another storage place. Monthly fee went up over $90!! The place is dark and scary. Last night had to stop by and texted someone to let them know where I was "just in n case". The entrance was filthy as alway with garbage scattered (see pics). read more

This place is always gross, dirty, and unsafe for anyone to go to day or night. There is no cell service inside the building please carry a weapon. There are a lot of sketchy people hanging around. The back gate was open for over 2 months and now the front gate is open yesterday for anyone to get in the storage parking lot. People leave the doors open too with the orange cone. As soon as you walk in the door it smells like marijuana and there is always garbage at the door when you walk in and out of the building. I have been renting here for 6 months now and the same garbage has been in front of my unit since then. One cart in the building the last time I was there was two but one was broken. The light sensors don't go off, you have to walk down the hall several times for the lights to go on. When I walked out yesterday there was some guy with NY plates sitting in his car eating a sandwich and watching a video on his phone not too sketchy. I am looking for a new place. I have called several times to complain no one cares at Corp. There are people at the front desk playing on their phones. The manager Jose is full of himself, he is a great conartist who has corp fooled. Look at the photos in the hall of sunflower seeds they wonder why there is a rat and mouse problem. A used tampon and a used glove were in front of the door entering the building. I don't know who is writing these reviews but they have to be friends of people that work there. I did not take any photos of the entrance coming in because I want to get in and out of there but you can see the sunflower seeds on the floor. read more

I moved into my storage unit here today with ease. I made my reservation about a week ago through the website, but my neuroticism took over and I wound up calling with a million questions. Lexie answered all of them, even when I wound up calling back once or twice. In fact, the reason I chose this storage place over another one a mile away is because of how helpful and friendly Lexie was (vs. the grumpy guy on the phone at the other). When I arrived today, Lexie sent me up to Edwin who showed me to the unit to inspect it. Then Lexie took me through the lease and payment. Everything was super easy and they were both very helpful, and it was all fast enough that even though my movers were right behind me, it was no problem to do the check in right then. read more

Best experience ever.. after a long day of moving we realized last minute we needed a storage unit. We were tired and in a bad mood but they made the storage unit experience super easy. Recently I had the WORSE experience with a different storage facility (NJ Self storage/ CubeSmart to be exact.) therefore coming here after that bad experience I was already very hesitant about going to another storage facility. I had the pleasure of meeting and conversing with the manager Lexie and front desk Piedad. They answered and help me with every question I had, I even felt very comfortable telling them about my previous horrible experience and they reassured me and even told me the procedures in case of an emergency. The unit I was given was very clean, convenient, and most importantly easy access. The facility itself has a lot of security cameras, sensor lights, parking spaces, it's clean, and depending on the storage unit you need they provide ones with climate control. They also have loading carts for you to use if you need. They truly helped me with everything and provided OUTSTANDING customer service.. A few days later they even called to make sure I had moved all my stuff to my unit with no problems. They know how to established a great trusting relationship with their customers which has allowed me to trust them with my belongings here, I'm glad I ended up coming here to rent a storage unit and I highly recommend this storage facility to anyone looking for a safe place to keep your things whether it's for short/long period of time! read more

I am SURPRISED there are not any reviews about this place, I don't blame other people. It's probably not worth their time. Where do I begin... The manager on the premises is the worst person I have dealt with. This will be long so if you are thinking of getting services from this storage, DO NOT! The manager has no idea on how and what customer service is and what hearing the customer out is either. The only sane person who actually is very helpful is A nice lady the assistant manager. I feel so sorry for her having to deal with such a disrespectful manager who only cares about is making money. Someone needs to go back to school for management 101. I hope corporate office takes a look at my review and looks into this matter. Also I have been at this location for a little over a year and there has been this vehicle parked that actually gets in the customers way when trying to enter the facility. Very very unprofessional.
