Not only did they have serious, unresolved roof leaks for nearly 6 months, that they refused to inform any of their renters. By the time I realized the issue, everything I owned in their climate controlled, air conditioned unit was covered in mold. When I addressed it, I was told to just file a claim with the renters insurance that I had purchased. The owners had No apologies, offered no compensation, no help dealing with the situation, nor any empathy whatsoever for what they had caused. Zero. I feel like this is what disappointed me most. The renters insurance covers $2,000 max. That didn't nearly cover the damages. My unit was not the only one affected. There were dozens of dozens of units affected by the mold. But if you need any more reasons to not rent from them, they hike up the renter's cost almost every month! And not by small amounts. Within a few years, the cost was DOUBLED. read more

My husband and I are from California and were out in Naples Florida to handle my mother in-law's storage units at this location. She had sadly passed away last month, so we had our hands full trying to take care of the funeral arrangements and all her belongings. Needless to say, it was a very difficult and stressful time for us, and Tracy made our experience at Extra Space Storage seamless and worry-free, at a time when we needed it the most. She went above and beyond to personally help us with any arrangements we needed and was extremely accommodating. Every step of the way, Tracy was beyond helpful, personable, compassionate, and professional. She provided us with a level of customer service that is rare to find these days. If I could give a zero review I would after this last experience with Extra Space Storage in Naples on Goodlett Road! The person that sent the email to those of us in building one threatening to throw out our things if they were not removed within 10 days shouldn't be in any position dealing with the public! Imagine sending that email to your mother your aging father or anyone around the holidays! I'm not even sure if that's legal to threaten to keep someone's items within a 10 day warning span. You are gutless and incompetent! Some of us are handicapped or is that not a valid consideration? Amazingly cannot find a corporate number or any management number at all on Google. I rented a unit from this place and had never used a storage facility before. These people were so nice and friendly. I lost my keys and couldn't get into my locker. To make matters worse I got a scammer that claimed he was a locksmith and not only didn't make a key , he broke the lock. I was telling the guys how awful this all was and I was out of town with my locker unlocked. Those men went out after work and bought a lock and fixed it for me. I'm so grateful for these guys. Today , in midst of salvaging things from our Ian damaged home, I went over to find that storm had rusted my lock. Was able to talk to fine young man who was working there and he helped my get issue resolved. One less thing to worry about . I walked in on a Saturday afternoon to inquire about a small storage space for our business supplies and was so impressed with the customer service provided by Brittany. She was pleasant, personable and professional. She graciously took me to a few spaces so I could decide what worked best, waited patiently while I made a phone call to our owner, then guided me through the paperwork in no time. By the time I left, I had rented a regular storage space for our supplies, and 2 more climate controlled spaces for extra inventory we may have when we open. I recently rented a space at this location. It was clean and convenient to where we live. We sold our place up North and needed some extra space. The rental process was kind of confusing. If you reserve on line you can't use a credit card to pay and have to show up in person within three days to pay. We were up North packing our stuff up so that was not possible. If someone else comes in after three days you can lose your space. They also sold me insurance which was going to be $45.00 a month. I checked the next day and found my homeowners policy covers my belongings in the storage unit. I calls to cancel. Salesman said he would call me back to verify if he could remove first month charge as I have not yet moved in. He never did. On second call I got the manager who was very gruff and said you definitely have to pay first month. She to,d me I had to and here my homeowners to prove I had coverage. Really not a good start. I am thinking about changing storage companies. read more
