We were beyond thrilled with all aspects of our move, from the initial "Guaranteed Not to Exceed" estimate (the only company of seven to give us something other than an estimate that could go up significantly), to the final move into our storage unit 4 hours away. Jose, Walter and Joel packed out our 3100 sq foot house in just about five hours, and they couldn't have been friendlier, more professional, or more accommodating while they were doing it. We had a color-coded system in place, and they not only picked up on it immediately, they enthusiastically supported it throughout the evolution. We didn't have many requests, but those we did they responded to happily. They were extremely careful with all our belongings, and they left the house in great shape despite the obvious disruption. The next day, Jose, Joel and Gene (Jean?) came to load our HHG into the truck. They were done in exactly two hours! WAY quicker than we would have guessed. We hit Jose with a last-minute request to allow us to affix inventory numbers to all the boxes, and he happily accommodated the request, altering the order of goods going into the truck to allow us time to finish our inventory. Again, the three gentlemen could not have been more professional as they carried out their responsibilities. Jose made sure we had his number and he reviewed the plans for drop off to our storage unit the following day, so there would be no surprises ... which we REALLY appreciated. The unloading process was flawless too. I was active duty military for 33 years, and this is move number 12 for us ... so we've had some experience with this maneuver. This has been the absolute BEST all-around experience with a moving crew that we've had! And this is the FIRST one I'm actually paying for, so that's saying something!  I told Jose several times this has been about as stress-free a move as is possible. I don't recommend him he's not reliable at all and completly a jerk ( he bumped our job for another 15 mins before he was to come) he sent me a confusing message via text! Anytime you use a mover get a quote and email contract and shop around for an honest human being this guy is crap! The guy has no care for trust and honesty also charge me the same price for a 1 door down the hall for a 20 min move -10 miles away? Who does that ? More background..First experience is he works with specific assisted living places in cape coral and he charged us 350 to move my dad one door down the hall.. Yes it was high but we needed a move asap ( and I had no time to call around) While moving my dad he took the pow flag off the wall and didn't honor it correctly my dad a veteran was pissed Also the assisted living place highpoint added his moving bill to my bill from them Ps highpoint sucks for veterans they charged us for $$ for my dads free medication and moved my dad illegally Now back to ray the mover who was recommend by highpoint.. He said he move my dad in cape coral from one assisted living place to another and he then backed out an hour before ( after asking him a week before ) he said yes He showed up 3 hours earlier then he said he would and then left sent me a very confusint message saying " text this guy and Venmo him 350" I was panicked so I did He said I only take checks or cash but btw a week early he never asked me with payment to use -- so red flags for sure!! So I called highpoint and asked them to add the move again to my dads bill they said yes called ray back and he said we left and called me a liar (?) and then told me some other persons to Venmo! Ray the Mover facilitated our move from Southwest Florida to Texas in early December 2021. Their packing and loading crew in Florida was excellent-careful, respectful, intelligent and efficient. The driver (Bill) was very personable and competent, performing inventory, overseeing the loading process and keeping us informed of his progress to Texas. They broke my husband's guitar, my headboard, the wire to the back of a painting, a lamp, and who knows what else because we are still unpacking. The guitar was in it's guitar case so they can say they had no idea it was breakable. I'm missing items and the way they put things "back together" reminded me of a child trying to put a table or bed together. I'm never ever moving again but for anyone else....look somewhere else. read more

My friend used this company to move from Florida back to Canada, so we had a few extra international and COVID-19 hoops to jump through, but in the end, this company made it happen!!! From the office staff, to Michael our appraiser, to the packers and movers, and, of course, Larry the driver, we had a very pleasant and stress free experience. Raul, Andy (aka Adam) and Walter arrived on time the first day to do the packing that was left and were very professional and pleasant. Raul walked through once with my friend who explained what was going where upon its final destination and then he distributed the packing work to the other guys and off they went. They were respectful of the personal items they were packing and seemed very intent on getting it all just right. The second day went just as well, we got to see Raul, Andy and Walter again along two more helpers and they finished packing and loaded the truck in half a day. Again, they were wonderful to work with, fun, respectful and very through. The truck left Florida on schedule and arrived in Canada as expected. The driver, Larry, was very pleasant and was kind enough to keep in touch with us and updated on his progress and what was what with the Border process and made sure all went smoothly on that end of the move. There were a few questions on what paperwork we needed to cross the border, but Michael made extra effort to contact the Canadian Border, as did my friend, and in the end they all worked together to make sure we had all the correct forms. Ray the Mover's entire staff came together to make this International move as stress free as possible and we are grateful. Very disappointed in this company. I was sold a bill of goods by the appraiser that came to bid the job, then when I received the proposal it was over $200 more than what we discussed, he told me it's was for x,y,z.... things that he made seem we're included in the original price, but because I was in a time crunch I felt like I had no choice. When the move day came, the two guys that came were nice but as I walked the move with them, they still forgot things. (I was leaving some furniture for donation). I also had to ask or tell them to wrap dressers so the drawers wouldn't move. And because I felt rushed out of the door I didn't go over the place with a fine tooth comb. We get to my new home and the dressers were left wrapped, things not put together properly, and I was left more overwhelmed than when we started. But bc I felt I had to tip them I did. But even they said they forgot a few things - and now I am left trying to move what they left. I would NOT RECOMMEND this company. read more

They were willing to set up all furniture where we wanted and would even move it around in different positions until i found the perfect spot. He seemed like a really nice guy! When the owner of the company came to my house to do an estimate I got a really good feeling about him. I trusted his judgement, I SHOULD NOT HAVE! He explained the 2 large TV's must be crated and the crates were $75. I agreed and he sent me a quote. His quote was about the same as the other 2 I received, I went with him. On moving day I left my husband at the old house and I went ahead to the new house. When the truck was being unloaded, the 2 TV's came out wrapped in moving blankets and duct tape. I didn't think much about it, moving day was very hectic. Since the living room TV was being hung on the wall, the movers kindly said they would leave it wrapped in the blanket and we could even keep the blanket. The next day when we went to unwrap the TV, we found that is was completely shattered and the whole front was smashed. I think the movers new it was smashed. When I called the owner to discuss the matter he asked me to fill out a claim form, I did, I also told him the TV wasn't crated as discussed, he sent me a check for $60.00, 60 cents/lb for a 100 lb TV, for a TV that we had to replace with a $1200 TV. I asked him to reconsider the settlement, he never responded. I looked closely at the quote he sent me, he never included the TV crates which he said were mandatory. I missed that on the quote, I guess I should not have put so much trust in him. So legally, he didn't owe me anything more than the $60, ethically, he could have split the cost with me and taken some responsibility for the damage. I'm long overdue in reviewing this company. I couldn't have asked for a more professional and thoughtful group of guys who successfully helped us empty out and pack my Mom's items. We had just returned from being out of the country and we were literally notified to move her items out of the unit while driving in our car 10 hours to another destination so as you can imagine the planning and details of this move was more than tumultuous and mostly done over the phone and long distance with the owner. Even though we had to change the moving date more than once and had absolutely no idea how much was going to be packed, stored or thrown away, the owner and staff of this company kept a calm and professional manner throughout. In addition, they handled our items with kit gloves; even the items that were clearly going to be trashed they took care of with respect and kindness as they were my 93 year old Mom's belongings. Items packaged by their staff arrived unblemished. It's unfortunate to hear others had a bad experience with this company. I have moved many times throughout the course of my life and Ray The Mover is the first and only company I would recommend or bother to post a review.
