This place is horrible employees are rude and lie. I rented unit asked when will i possibly see an increase. I was told I would be notified and probably not for 6 months or more. 2 months later bang 55% increase total scam job. I asked where was my notification idiot actually said they sent a post card. everything else is done by email everything but not your 55% price increase that's done through 1980s post card wow! took everything out next day and they wouldn't credit me for the 28 days left so I said leave it open and they closed it so they can try to rent it while I'm still actually paying for it... stay away!! read more

Staff is very friendly and helpful. The place is clean, well lite, and plenty of stuff to help you move your belongings to your unit!

Luis is always so helpful. I had a couple come and pick up a dining set and he helped them mount the dining table top onto their SUV. Super clean, dollies are available if you need to move your items and just overall a great experience. read more

I rented at extra space storage just a few weeks ago. First i went there on a sunday when office was closed. Noone showed me how to get out once i was inside using keypad. I got locked in. I called corp and they said they didnt know where key pads were inside as all facilities are different. No instruction on my access card. No emergency number. I decided to remove all my things 3 days later. I went there and the entire outside parking area was under construction. Terrible fumes and dirt and trucks everywhere. Manager was so nasty. The workers i brought were choking. Horrible experience. They should be fined read more

So, only two reviews before mine and they're both not very good at all. I felt the need to give this place the credit it deserves. The last review speaks of mice droppings and roof leaks. While these are certainly horrible things to experience, I feel that they're isolated incidents and should not be used to judge this facility when making your decision. In my experience, mouse droppings are definitely a sign of filth but in a storage facility your best bet is to blame your neighbor rather than the facility. We all know that if a tenant stores food or unknowingly smuggles mice into the unit from home, you're going to have a mouse problem. The management can only do so much. This is the second time I'm using this facility. Obviously I returned after the first time because I was so happy with both the cleanliness and the staff. Additionally, this facility has two huge garage doors that you can actually pull your vehicle into so that you can unload your vehicle without dealing with the weather. The prices are very competitive, the staff is helpful and informative, and you'll most likely be just as happy as I have been with this location. read more

This is my first time with my own storage unit, but I've had friends that have had their own - therefore I was expecting better. We chose this because of the location (near our home) & because they were running a web deal. When the office called to confirm - it was just that: a confirmation that we were coming on the selected date. It wasn't until the day we brought our belongs to move into the storage facility that we were told that 1.) we had to pay insurance, or provide our renter's insurance right then to cover our belongings, 2.) that there was no elevator to the 2nd floor, & 3.) that we had to provide our own lock. The facility had just had a roof leak, which was not what we wanted to see the day we moved our belongings into a unit. In addition, all of the carts were on the 1st floor, so my fiance had to bring everything up the stairs & around to the back without any type of assistance. The management is disrespectful and rude. My storage unit had mice droppings in it, as well as another person who was down the hall from me (so chances are the rest in our row had them). Rent continues to increase every couple of months. I moved my stuff to a different extra space storage location instead. When i spoke to the employee about the mice problem I was told their manager would get in touch with me. I have yet to hear from them and I have left messages with corporate. Stay away from this extra space location. I was a customer of the RV parking lot, not the storage units but this should give you insight into the management of the facility. I am probably the most low maintenance customer they would have. I leave my trailer there, come by for ten minutes and then leave and drop it after a few days. This year in April, one of their customers who rents 4-5 spaces, blocked the entire lot parking a truck back to back to move equipment. I was left there waiting for him to move his trucks because it was blocking my way out of the lot. No biggie thought it was just a one off instance. 2 months later, I go to get my trailer out of the lot, no issues. Then, when I went to drop it off 3 days later. That same customer actually took my spot! I walk to the manager's office and told them someone was in my space and that I need to drop my trailer off and leave. Any extra spots? No. Turns out, the customer who stole my parking spot, actually had an open spot. I asked the manager there, Ill just take his spot, he takes mine (already took it) and all is done. NOPE, she starts to get pissed at me. Then she calls the customer who stole my spot and acts apologetic and sympathetic to HIM! Instead of giving me his spot since he took mine, she went and asked his permission to allow me to park in his spot. My jaw dropped. Then to top it off, I get inconvenienced because now I have to go back and move back to my spot to convenience this customer that stole my parking spot in the first place. If I didn't take time off from work to move back my trailer would have been towed. They essentially allowed a customer in their lot, to actually own the lot and dictate terms and based on my experience, he is allowed to take your spot and if there are no other spots left, you wont have a place to put your trailer unless that customer allows you to take his spot.. Don't leave your RV or trailer at this location. The lot is locked but the gate is broken so it can be hard to rollback at times. Also, the lot itself has a few coats of oil and grease all over the place. I don't think trailers leave this, but the several trucks there do. Its a disgusting lot and its not maintained.. Stay away, this place is not worth the headache and management has a really strange "customer service" where people who violated terms of service are treated better than people who do and even though you sign a contract with Extra Space Storage, the person that actually runs the RV lot is not from Extra Space Storage. Pick a different Extra Space location( I have had good experiences at North Bergen and Hasbrouck Heights), the management here (Lyndhurst) is horrible and void of any sense of fairness or even any sense of customer service. read more
