Horrible customer service and way too many homeless! We kept some extra things for our small business in there and needed frequent access, almost every single entry we saw at least one roach near our unit! Some kind of homeless man who had a unit near ours always had grass, dirt and sand all over the floor and we noticed they hardly ever sweep, because it would stay for weeks on the floor where we had to cross to get to our unit! The lady who signed us up- the lead manager Toni was rude to my husband as well as myself at the time of signup, in the middle of our stay, and when we moved to a new unit in Kihei-- where the office staff smile and thank us for our business. Sorry to bother you like an annoying housefly just to pay you and become your customer-Jeez ! Also, my husband would not allow me access without him or a male employee out of fear of the many homeless people creeping in the hallways and in the stairways, I carry pepper spray but still, they lay down, they do odd weird things and seem to just loiter and creep the place out, one time as we left, we startled a homeless peeing in a bottle in the stairwell, grosssssss!!!! Enough said Also, the website states they have an on site manager who lives there, but because we accessed our unit most days we could tell clearly there was no such manager residing on property, perhaps that's called false advertising ? My husband told me he only saw security cameras by the very vital doors or only few places, he said anyone could break into a flimsy aluminum unit easily and conceal items in a bag/suitcase and you at least would not see these items exiting the property or at all on camera. He even said there are electrical outlets all over for a thief to plug in a powertool and cut into the cheap weak units within seconds, let alone battery powered ones with no cord! He used to own a construction business so he knows these things. I see many positive reviews on here, and looking in the manner they are written, it leads me to believe the office staff have their friends, family or even possibly themselves post these sunny reviews? I can't blame a business for doing it, we do it also in our bus., but just saying, not sure those are real customers reviewing on here All in all, just recommend to go look for a storage out of Kahului, or in Kihei, there should be less homeless and the staff might actually be polite and/or care about your business! read more

I have had most positive experiences with Extra Space Storage as a company and with their employees. Specifically, the manager and staff at the Kahului location provide superior customer service by highly professional and ethical conduct. Furthermore, the lady manager has been/is, accomodating. and goes out of her way to ensure customer satisfaction and above all, a safe setting for any renter and their belongings. She pays immediate attention to any issues arising. Her excellent leadership skills reflect in the positive attitude of the staff members who are curteous, reliable and helpful at all times. The facility is very clean and well maintained besides properly secured. We have had two wonderful experiences here. When we visit, we fly our bikes to Maui, and then store our bike boxes and luggage at the Kahului Extra Space. Everyone has been very helpful. The units and grounds are very clean. The prices are great. We even had an incredible experience with one of the men who was working on grounds maintenance. We had waited over an hour for our taxi back to the airport, and it had still not shown. He knew we were anxious to get to the airport, so he actually drove us there! What aloha spirit! Ive had multiple storage units for about 5 years now at Extra Space Storage. I would highly recommend this facility for all your storage needs. They are very friendly and accommodating.
