The team was helpful, patient and kind, and everything went smoothly with the loading process on a very hot day. I had my own covers for my couches, but they did an excellent job wrapping the last over-sized chair. These guys were very professional. I attached a couple of photos of the large, long-distance truck and the organization on boxes and other items. The quoting process was good, as Scott was personable and wore a mask inside my home during the COVID-19 lockdown period. The office was OK about the paperwork and emails - just be patient and follow up if needed. I'll also note that the moving company on the delivery end was not so great, but it's probably the roll of the dice. The driver admitted that my dresser was wrapped properly by the loading company, but the delivery guys unwrapped it before moving through the door, which resulted in some minor damage. All boxes arrived. Only one loose, inexpensive patio chair was missing (which I could have prevented had I packed it in a box properly. Overall, I was satisfied given my expectations of the long haul.

I had to pay in full before the insurance claim was put through, which should have been my first red flag. Their insurance denied the claims, so my furniture was taken to a third party. The furniture was repaired beautifully, but bringing the items back, one item was damaged again. Putting ithe drawers back into a chest, a track was broken. I requested a third party to come repair the track, as I no longer trust this company with any of my belongings. Johnny currently has not gotten back to be regarding ordering new tracks. When asked, Johnny was upset that I left a negative review, and the lack of professionalism is exhibited via text message shown. This was after my furniture was damaged for the second time, and the track of a drawer broken. These movers showed up in a search for piano and heavy moving. I would not trust them to move a toy…read morepiano. All the booking was done online, and three people were hired to come out at 5pm on Wednesday. They showed up at 7pm. With two guys. I didn't know who they were at first because they were not wearing company shirts or anything to identify them as the movers. Knowing that they were hired to move an extremely fragile piece of machinery that weighs 550 pounds, they naturally brought zero equipment with them. Who does that? They said they would return tomorrow at the same time, 5pm with more team members and equipment. Meanwhile thunderstorms in the forecast, it's now 8pm and no other movers open to take a call, and thunderstorms in the forecast that night. Phillip told me to just tarp my $43,000 piece of electronic machinery and told me it would be fine. To top it off, he had to know that two men weren't g going to be able to move this but they removed the plastic covering the crate & cardboard. Next day, again, late, by 90 minutes. The team of "four to five guys" means 3 guys. Despite me showing them a video of how to properly uncrate the machine and access the ramps, they opted to try and lift it with two guys with harness straps. Absolutely ignoring all the fragile, high claim value stickers on the crate, QR codes for instructions, they decided to tilt and jiggle the machine that is sensitive to vibrations. Again, they said they were going to go to Harbor Freight and get a winch. They went in the opposite direction and I was told they would get the job done the following day. I had enough by this time and found professional movers that came out the next day and had the job done in less than two hours.

Loading time was nearly 10 hours, but it wasn't for lack of effort on the movers' part. Unloading took 11 hours. We had two casualties during the move. One was a china cabinet, which suffered shattered glass during the trip. The foreman who was unloading us said it was badly packed. That's what prevents this from being a five-star review. A cheap bookcase was also damaged beyond repair, but that was no big deal. Price was surprisingly affordable. In fact, O'Brien's/Allied's bid was less than half of Gentle Giant's.

This was an extremely disappointing and unprofessional experience from start to finish. During the move, the crew scratched my walls and caused significant damage to my furniture--damage so severe that it is beyond repair. None of the furniture was properly protected, and drawers were reassembled incorrectly. The worker was verbally aggressive, yelling at me and behaving in a deeply disrespectful manner, which was especially unsettling as a woman being spoken to that way in my own home. Despite purchasing furniture insurance, the claims process took over six weeks, only for the company to offer repairs on brand-new furniture rather than replacing items that were clearly damaged beyond reasonable repair. The claims manager was also dismissive and rude, further compounding the frustration. I strongly urge others not to hire this company. Do not be misled by positive reviews elsewhere--my experience was entirely unacceptable.
