I moved my stuff in last October -- starting rate $200. By December, it went up to $240, and now, one year later, just got notice that it's going up to $275!! 38% INCREASE within one year. Very happy with our experience at Extra Space Storage. We signed up online and signed the lease as well. We were then quickly called for a check in and follow up from our online form. The unit was ready that day and everything was self service, which is important to us. Our access is drive up. The unit is a good size and very clean. The directions to the unit and how to get into the storage center were very clear. I feel safe and like this unit is a good value for our money. Would highly recommend. read more

Deceptive pricing, and I was so reluctant and still got burned to a degree. Two faced liars, with the site manager telling me he's been there 13 years and really works to maintain rates and other needs for his clients. He never allowed anyone's rates to increase by more than 5% as I was pressing him on this concern. My rates went from $141 to $162 to $182 within one year, with two increases. Any other storage option I would recommend over people that you know are deceptive. Try to get some sort of commitment for how much an increase they could possible do within one year. read more

I have rented storage from all the big companies and many small companies around the country, and Xtra Space is the worst. There are alternatives in the Doylestown area, and I encourage you to rent elsewhere. Curious about why? Read on.... My experience with Xtra space left me humiliated. The men who work there are excellent, polite and professional, but the corporate practices are offensive and exploitative. I rented a space around a year ago for $48 for seven months. I left and rented the same space five months later for $60 a month. When asked why the price hike? Supply and demand. No change in quality or service, simple gouging. After three months renting the second time, I get notice that the rent will be raised to $70 month. That is 45% increase for the same product in than LESS THAN A YEAR. Imagine a human baker selling loaf or bread for $4.80 last week, and $6 yesterday, and $7 today. Why did the price change? The baker said, "Because I can". Who would think they could do that and stay in business. I certainly can not treat my customers with such contempt. I called to inquire about the price, and I was introduced to Big Brother. YIKES? Big data's surveillance society meets storage rental. No thanks! My advice, save yourself the heartache of being made powerless, and rent somewhere else. read more
