Fast forward to June 2024 I am told they don't have keys and I'd need a locksmith. I decide to try to remove the lock myself first, and buy bolt cutters. I arrive at my unit to find my padlock isn't there and the lock looks different. I call and I am told they haven't changed the locks, and again I'll need to call a locksmith. $250 later a locksmith tells me he was just out the week prior and was told a similar story by that customer.. he drills through the lock, opens my unit, and there's the old lock with my padlock on it in my unit!! They DID change the locks! Wow.. We empty my unit of everything but a TV and table. I had paid the month of June so I had time to remove it. I get a call from the property manager Tish, or Trish, and she says if I'd like, she can leave the dumpster unlocked for me to dispose of those items. Wow, awesome, okay. So we show up and it isn't unlocked. Okay, no biggie. I'll stick to the original plan. So we put the TV and table back in my unit. I call and I'm assured by some guy that I'm paid through June, so I have a week before July to figure it out. The next couple days go by and I'm hit with a $250 abandoned items charge. I log into my account and it shows I no longer have a storage unit. I call and leave a message and no one will call me back. I call customer service, explain all the above, Tish/Trish calls me back and says she's going to have the DM remove it, and it was a misunderstanding on their end. I'm so grateful, and think this is all behind me. Even accept that they threw away the table I planned on keeping. A week later $250 is deducted from my bank... I call and no one calls me back. A few days after that, a months charge hits my bank and all the sudden I have the same storage unit under my public storage account. I have called the property manager probably 15 times. I have called customer service, who by the way, told me they be pissed if this was them. They gave me the district manager's, Jesse, phone number. Who also won't call me back after 3 attempts. We are nearing Aug and I need my money back and this account closed. I need someone to call me back!! I can't go anywhere to speak to anyone in person. This experience has been terrible, and I'm out almost $500, really $740!! I have never been even a day late, and I've never complained. I expect someone to reach out to me.

I spoke to my lawyer and since I did not have auto-pay set up and I did not authorize the charge, this is a possible criminal violation. I will be contacting my bank and the BBB today, then possibly the Dallas Police Department after that. There are also homeless people living up and down the street because there are vacant lots next to the business. I have caught them looking in my car windows and would not recommend any female to go here at night if you are alone.

The Manager AMANDA always gave the BEST in Customer Service. Amanda was always prompt to answer my call and to answer any questions. She proved to be personable and efficient! Even by phone I knew she was smiling, and loves what she does. She is a wonderful person and a an asset to Alamo Storage Company! My worries were few as the unit was Climate Controlled, regularly Pest Controlled and the property always kept clean and secured. The Security System is excellent and I never had an issue whatsoever! During the 10 years I had NO bad experience, none of my valuables were damaged or even dusty since the area is maintained as it has been. As far as the value, it was the most affordable anywhere. I appreciate that even after my 10 years I still paid half what I would pay in other states! Again, Amanda is manager of the N. Buckner location and it was a pleasure doing business-having my HHG and valuable items stored without worry under her good care.

Unfortunately, an incident that occurred during their recent ground remodeling project has completely changed my view of this company. My RV was moved from its original spot to another location as part of their construction work. They have asked for my persmision to preform the task. During that move, my RV was damaged, resulting in thousands of dollars in repair costs. What has been most disappointing is not just the damage itself, but the way the situation was handled afterward. They didn't take any responsibililty becuase they asked me to sign a weaver. I made the mistake to think they are professional at what they do. BIG MISTAKE. I made multiple attempts to reach someone to discuss the issue and find a reasonable resolution. After several calls and emails, the only response I received was that I should file a claim with my own insurance, and the company refused to take any responsibility for the damage that occurred while my RV was under their care. After this experience, I decided to cancel my lease agreement. I had just paid for the upcoming month, and when I called to request a refund for the unused portion, the representative refused and simply stated that the termination date would be March 31 instead of April 9. After nearly three years as a paying customer, this response felt dismissive and extremely disappointing. Businesses make mistakes -- that happens. But how a company chooses to stand behind its customers when those mistakes occur is what defines their integrity. At this point, I am simply asking for fairness and accountability. I hope REC Nations leadership reviews this situation and considers reaching out to resolve the matter appropriately. Until then, I cannot recommend this facility based on my experience.
