We started at a very reasonable rate about 1 year ago; which was quickly increased by hundreds of dollars. They lure you in with a low rate and then issue increases every 6 months or less. We had to hire a moving company to move all of our items to another reputable facility with proper lighting and great customer service. To make matters worse. I needed to dispose of two bags of paper and a small bookcase. I located the trash bins and the gates were "wide open" upon my arrival. I placed the bags in the dumpster and left the small bookcase outside the dumpster as it was in "good condition". Imagine my surprise when we received a very unpleasant phone call, accusing us of leaving the trash gate open and we were labeled as "dumping" and assessed a $75.00 dumping fee. These folks are hungry for money and will do anything for it. STAY AWAY!!! Choose another facility. It's not worth the headache when there are many other options.

Their own confirmation screen says the rental isn't complete until you call and speak to someone in the office, because only they can remove the lock on your unit. I called six times between August 7 and August 10. Every call went to voicemail. I went to the office three separate times during their posted hours, 10 AM to 2 PM on weekdays, and nobody was there. On the last visit the "Back at 10" sign was still hanging on the door at 10:30. I texted the office number and emailed the management company twice. Nothing came back. They called me exactly once, on August 5. I missed it. That was the only contact they ever made and they never tried again. $175 charged on day one for a unit I could never open. I ended up disputing the charge with my bank and renting somewhere else. If you rent here online, understand that you cannot get into your unit until a human unlocks it, and there may not be a human.

The movers arrived at my storage promptly this morning and began loading my items on the truck. I had 3 movers. I was exceptionally pleased when Larry, put a runner down so that they didnt stain the carpet while bringing my items in. They were careful with my items & wrapped my bedroom furniture up with their clithe to protect them. Im so thankful because my last moving experience was less desirable. Larry, Greg, & Wesley completed my move without complaints or excessive personal breaks. I moved our of a storage into a 2 bed/2bath apt. I was particularly pleased with the cinoany having their own box to transport loose items. I don't know why I have loose items when it seems that i have over 100 boxes!! All of the guys had a great sense of humor and made me feel totally comfortable. Of course it can be pricey when you contract movers but it feels great to know that I was able to support a Black Owned Business. The only thing that I disagreed with is that they did not hook up my washer & dryer for me. I guess its a liability or something like that. If and when i move again I will definitely use this company. PeriodTTT!!!!!!

Of those moves across various regions and distances, I have…read morecontracted 7 different moving companies. 485 movers is easily in my top 2 companies which have successfully moved my belongings with zero damage while greatly exceeding my expectations. Oleg and his partner were not only lighting fast while unpacking my fully stuffed POD, but they were also so careful and quiet that my 7 month old daughter didn't even stir from her nap. I am truly blown away by the speed, quality, and courtesy that these movers exhibited (on a Sunday morning no less) and honestly struggle to believe the negative reviews that have been left previously. Obviously, crews and customer experiences may vary but even so, I would happily contract 485 Movers again for my next moves considering the previous experiences I have had with other companies and the outstanding work of Oleg's crew that I had the pleasure of working with. I was told that we could expect our movers between 8 and 8:30 am. Oleg's crew arrived at 8:01 am and worked non-stop until the16 foot POD was empty. This only took 2 hours. I still can't figure out how they managed to accomplish this feat in 2 hours as this has averaged 6 hours in the past. Not a single mark on the walls. Not a single ding in my furniture. The crew also ensured that absolutely everything was located precisely where I wanted it and confirmed everything was properly placed before receiving payment. Really top notch service at a bargain price. As to the reviews which cite potential language barriers as an obstacle in a borderline racist tone: I speak English only. The mover's primary language was clearly not English but this did not present a single barrier or hinder their work in the least. Oleg just asked what/where each room was, then simply brought the labeled furniture/boxes to their respective rooms. I do not see how not speaking fluent and beautiful English would have improved this experience in any way at all. In fact, the worst movers I've had the displeasure of contracting with in the past (Boston Best Rate) spoke lovely English while also stealing about $1000 in personal property. TL;DR: Great and fast crew. 10/10 would hire again without question. Fluent English not required to move things carefully and quickly.
