This is the 2nd complaint about something serious that has happened at extra space storage in the last 2 months & no one from extra space upper mgt cares that I cannot deal with KIm a horribly abusive property mgr who wont even stay on top of responsibilities to renters who store there!!! I am a 62-year old female who's been renting at the calle cuervo location since 2021. I visited unit last week & couldn't understand why there were a multitude of crumbs under expensive shoes I hadn't worn much before puttimg them in storage are in horrible shape - just from having sat in that unit since 2021!!!! next, i lifted a bag containing new wardrobe garments, and saw a large, unidentified wet-looking dark brown things grouped together tightly in a circular pattern & put hand on bag to sweep unidentifed pile off bag my hand: THEY WERE FRESHLY LAID MICE/RAT TURDS LAID FROM MANY ANIMALS GROUPED TOGETHER IN A WET PILE THE SIZE OF THE PALM OF MY HAND!!! NEVER MIND KIM THE SERIOUSLY ABUSIVE, MONEY GOUGING MGR WHO RAISES RENT FOR THE WEIRDEST REASONS - EVEN WHEN I WORE A DRESS/HAT TO ACCESS MY UNIT!!! The last few times I went to Kim with anything : (1) One time with question about temperature in unit (2) One time in 2023 being unable to go on property to access unit due to an emergency situation/waited 4 hours until closing at 10:00 p.m. for someone to let me on property as advised per staff on duty; and, no one came to let me in. Reported situation to be a nice person in case Extra Space did not know about electrical problem with gate & Kim raised rent!!! (3) problem with Post Office that got straightened out - Kim raised rent - wouldn't back down (4) happened to wear a dress the day I went to access something from unit in November, 2025 & Kim saw me & raised rent $100!!! (5) When first moving into unit in 2021 on several cross-country move occasions (had to do entire move by myself) - Kim emerged from office screaming at me and talking down to me in the mist rude and insulting way not to park my car with enclosed container attached or the large box truck (one time) next to double doors where elevators are , ordering me to park across the lot; however since 2022, Kim always permits other renters who sometimes have several vehicles, with people helping them to park next to the double doors to do their loading and unloading - but Kim refused to allow me to do that!!! EXTRA SPACE STORAGE IS SUPPOSED TO HANDLE PEST CONTROL BUT KIM THE MANAGER IS NOT DOING THIS, TO ENSURE ALL RENTERD HAVE THEIR SHOES, CLOTHING, FURNITURE, IMPORTANT THINGS DINED ON BY WHAT SEEMS TO BE A HUGE POPULATION OF RODENTS - ESPECIALLY IF RENTERS GO TO KIM WITH ANY QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS ABOUT THINGS TO BE HELPFUL. read more

Beware the rate hike! The company wide plan is one of bait and rate hike. They offer an OK rate to start, then after a few months they nearly double the rent in the hope that you will just bend over and take it because moving would be too much of a pain. Friendly, helpful, non-creepy staff. Locked drive-thru security gates for entry/exit access. Clean, well-lit facility with elevators and carts to shift your things into/out of storage. Convenient access hours. This is a good, local storage facility. read more

I was moving from Los Angeles to Rio Rancho and had to keep my prized collector guitars worth $14,000 each (average) in a safe place until escrow cleared. As one might imagine, I was scared to death of losing these babies. I called all of the highly rated storage facilities in the Rio Rancho/Albuquerque area. ExtraSpace hands down had the most caring, helpful, honest, knowledgeable CSRs by far, so I decided to trust their company with my gear. The CSR directed me to a real jewel at the Calle Cuervo facility in Albuquerque! The facility operator called me to answer all of my security questions and set up an appointment! Tori explained all of their security precautions, down to the manager living onsite down the hall from where my gear would be stored. She said that he would see my unit every day, several times a day in their climate-controlled facility. We met her at the facility. Tori is the best customer service person anyone could ever meet. I was a customer service coordinator for 25+ years. I would have loved to have had her for an employee. She was pleasant, thorough, and went out of her way to assuage my fears. In all of my storage experiences, I have never had anyone take the time Tori did to walk me through the process personally. She even gave us great tips on a dog-friendly restaurant and rock clubs we'd enjoy in the area. My wife and I agreed that Tori is an absolute jewel! Later we met Floyd, the onsite manager, and he is just a great person as well, very helpful and pleasant. My gear was the safest it could be during escrow. I have used various storage facilities all over southern California, big and small. As a professional in the customer service world, I know that a company is only as good as the people it hires. Tori, Floyd, and the phone CSR personnel are by far the best in this industry. Why waste time/effort trusting anyone else with your valued possessions? I recommend with no hesitation ExtraSpace and the people at its wonderful Calle Cuervo facility. read more

This place is great! It's clean and new unlike most other storage places I've used. The gate access is easy to use and they have pretty late hours so it's not too much of a pain in the ass to get in at get my stuff after work. The elevator works well and there are carts to make it easy to put your stuff in storage. There is even music playing inside which was nice when I was loading my stuff in there. The staff is unusually nice for a storage place, as well, which was a pleasant change. I can also pay online which is convenient. I have used other storage places over the years and this place is by far the best. read more
