After months of multiple attempts at finding a contractor that does metal roofs on homes, a friend…read moreof mine suggested Brightside to me. Briana has a great energy & was quick to send out a representative for an estimate. Its a good thing the estimate was free because there's nothing more irritating than having my time wasted & my personal well being threatened. I met with Brian (who introduced himself as a general manager) and received a very fair estimate in roughly a week. Brian also explained to me that they have another individual who does the gutters for them (Matt) who was supposed to contact me with his estimate. During the process, I explained to Brian that I wasn't 100% sure but there might be 2 layers of shingles. We also have 2 dormers...which you'll read the significance of them later. I also threw in that we are adding an addition (although I did not have a drawing @ the time, I was able to provide the measurements). Is the job super easy, no. There is also a section of rotten wood but it is far from impossible. The estimate was useless as it only showed the price of the metal roofing alone. A week later, Brian had reached out to see if I had made a decision yet but I was @ work & not able to talk long. My husband & I had a number of questions so I emailed Briana that night- I never received a response. The roof started leaking so I then emailed Brian & again received absolutely no response. The questions I asked were things that both (being "general managers") should have been able to provide me with an answer easily. One of the main reasons why I wasn't sure if I wanted to do business with them is due to the lack of info...I needed to know the cost of labor. Instead of answering me at all, they both simply ignored me. Instead of telling me that they're not interested in the job they decided it was a good idea to give my personal contact information to another local roofer without my permission! This is where Brightside seriously f*cked up- not only do they lack professionalism but they had no right to hand out my home address & phone number to a complete stranger. I have restraining orders against 2 exs, I clearly don't want to be found so for them to do as they please is unacceptable! It could put myself & my family in harms way- do you have any idea what a pain in the a** it is to have to relocate, to find yet another job, to be forced to leave family & friends behind? Also, Matt the gutter guy never contacted me at all. So after a month went by, I start getting calls from another roofer who said he got my info from Brian. This individual is also extremely unprofessional (which you'll see in my review for "Essential Restoration"). He shared a lot of comments that Brian made about my roof, claiming that he complained that there's 4 layers of shingles, that the dormers make the job difficult...that the job is just too hard. I'm not sure if what was relaid to me is actually true but considering their lack of response & the referral I'm going to assume it is. Again, the lack of professionalism I received is annoying. The lack of security & privacy is down right disrespectful! I don't care that they decided not to do the job; it's how they handled themselves that going to cost them.
