The main reason I went in this time was to fix a botched V-shape so I just needed to even it out, get in some layers, and most importantly, take off weight (my hair is extremely thick and I have a lot of it). Hanna listened and gave her own expert input, and I walked out with the best hair cut I've had in literal years. So, so happy to have found her. We worked to refine the look throughout the trial and she took detailed notes to be sure and recreate the look on the actual day months later. She arrived early, was willing to step and in help with day-of tasks outside of her norm, and was encouraging and fun to have around on the important day. I've always gotten the best scalp massages while my hair was shampooed, thurough consultations from Alyssa with realistic advice of what would look best on me, product recommendations for my hair type, and great service by the front desk. Nicole does really beautiful work on my (unruly) eyebrows and it was refreshing to have someone tell me not to pluck them and let them grow out. She shapes them really nicely and is quick. Overall for a high end salon you get a very high end experience worth the price you're paying. Although I'd say the parking can be unpredictable so arrive a little early for wiggle room.

Some backstory (if you care), I'm originally from Houston and moved to DFW in May 2022 after getting married. I had been going to my Curly Hair specialist in Houston since 2016 and tried to continue going after moving, but it was just not practical and sustainable with my hectic schedule. I knew I needed to find a new expert, but I'm sure everyone reading this understands how stressful this process is. I did extensive research to find a DFW Curly experts and came across 2 options and Lorens was one. She actually even recommended the 2nd person I was already eyeing in case her own availability didn't work for me - shows you how sweet of a human and supportive of her fellow curl experts she is! After looking at reviews, pictures, her socials etc I booked an appointment and I am thoroughly satisfied! My curls have been on a journey since 2016 and she took the time to understand that journey and me! She is truly more than just a hair stylist. Although I had experience with curly cuts and other curly hair related appointments in the past, she still treated me with the same amount of care and educated me and made me feel amazing about my hair and self when I walked out! I switched over to Arthur from my regular hairdresser because his prices were high and Arthur's were more affordable. I discussed lightening my overall color with Arthur. I think it's worth noting that during our consultation, I majorly stressed that the main thing I wanted was to keep all of my length and I did not want to compromise my length in any way. I am a licensed cosmetologist myself so while I realize there is a risk taken when lightening hair, I know it can be done safely to maintain hair health. We discussed doing a light "dusting" to the existing layers that I had to get rid of any split ends. A dusting is cutting the most minimal amount of hair possible-less than an inch of hair. When I got home and was able to see what my hair actually looked like color and cut wise- I was sick to my stomach. Roots dark- mid shaft a yellow color and ends a light brown. My hair was compromised. I would've appreciated a toner that evened out the color more. Now this is all bad but I was not prepared for the cut I received. Over 4 inches was cut from the left side of my head while the right side was left significantly longer. I hate to be blunt- but this was the worst haircut I have ever received in my life. I let Arthur know and he immediately offered to fix it and comp the cut. I was sick to my stomach upset about the excessive length he had to cut off to make it "even." The layering he cut was some of the worst I've seen. Rounded layers were extremely choppy and very uneven. Arthur's attempt to fix my cut failed for a second time as I left the salon with uneven hair again. Needless to say, I didn't trust Arthur further lightening my hair since he couldn't even do a simple trim on it. The first picture with dark hair is before Arthur. The second is Arthur's "fixed" cut. The third and the fourth photo are Arthur's initial cut he did showing the poor layering and unevenness. Hugely disappointed and I will not be returning.
