What a nightmare this girl was! Soo unprofessional, major attitude, and completely clueless on how to maintain good client relations, doesn't return messages, and is both uninterested and non-responsive with any issues you may be having with the extensions and her work. She's about making the sale, throwing in crappy hair, taking ur $$ and pushing you out the door. Who runs a business that way?!
I was so nervous to get extensions, after experiencing health issues that caused me to lose 50% of my hair, I didn't want to do any more damage! I researched for sometime, and decided to put my trust in Alicia, after reading what I thought were legit reviews.
I had some reservations from the start, as it took 2 & 3 msgs to get a response. I arrived for my consult, buzzed to get in, no answer, tried again, no answer, called her on her cell, and this girl had the nerve to ask me to wait OUTSIDE the building & "buzz her in 15 min because she wasn't ready! I was not impressed, get ur act together!
I was finally buzzed in for my consult, which took place amidst banging, dust, and renovations and her half paying attention. I gave her the benefit of the doubt, maybe it's an off day for her.
We discussed my hair goals, pricing, care etc. She said she gives all clients the "at cost" price on hair. (later found out she doubled the cost) We agreed on a plan, she assured me the hair she uses is quality and would last a year. I said I'd get in touch to set up the appointment. I had to email 2-3 times again just to get a reply. I had a few follow up questions that never did get answered. Finally set up the appointment for color & install.
I arrive for my appointment, excited to finally get extensions, to find Alicia in the middle of doing a friends hair & complaining she's soo exhausted & starving that she might pass out if she doesn't eat. She's practically lying on her desk telling me she did 3 installs that day & is drained. I ask if she wants to reschedule, feeling nervous & annoyed that my experience is being diminished by her issues. She says,no I'm fine, so we begin. She starts playing guessing games with her friend & arguing over what color to put on my hair before the install, how color should be mixed, applied & processed etc. & apparently has NEVER done it before, grreat! All the while still complaining about being exhausted and starving. I'm getting more nervous and annoyed, but AGAIN give her the benefit of the doubt. Color gets done, & is passable, I guess.
I suggest she better eat something, so the other girl goes to get food. Alicia starts doing my hair, but is more concerned with how she can get Coachella tix, & is texting, emailing, and calling ppl in the middle of my appoint. The girl returns with food & now I'm waiting on them to eat, she's eating a burrito with her hands & trying to do my hair at the same time. The other girl comes over, without asking if I'm ok with it, starts doing my hair, also without washing her hands after eating a greasy burrito.Classy.
It literally felt like she thought she was doing me a favor as opposed to me paying for a $3000 a year service. The other girl is complaining during my ENTIRE appointment about how Alicia needs to finish her hair, before she has to leave in an hour. As a result, the service was completely rushed, & she did not install the amount of hair agreed upon or paid for. It was supposed to be 200 strands, but I had it counted, it was actually 98. Nice. She finishes & starts cutting my hair(Later found out she hacked off a ton of my natural hair, not just extension hair as promised). I was trying to be cordial & AGAIN give her a break, so I leave things as is, thinking I'll come back to add more hair later.
By the third week the hair became very dry and started to shed, by the time maintenance was due, I'd lost half the thickness,it just kept getting thinner & drier & more tangled & knotted. It basically looked ok for 3 weeks & it was down hill from there. Considering when I consulted with her she said the hair would last a year, & it was already dried out & half gone by 2mos, it worked out to be a $400/month price tag! Uhh no thanks!! I don't know about u, but if I'm paying $3000/yr for a service, I expect quality, professionalism & courtesy. I DO NOT expect to have to practically beg to get an appoint or present a case for why she should address her work falling apart, and have my emails asking why the hair is so dry, tangled, knotted and shedding go unanswered. The biggest insult is in the end having HER cancel my appointment and tell me to go elsewhere so can avoid having to deal with her subpar work falling apart & me calling her on it. Wow.
It was the MOST unprofessional experience I have EVER had!
This experience was a nightmare. Most of the positive reviews oddly come from people with no photo and NO other reviews, suspect?! Umm I think so. Learn some courtesy, & business etiquette, word of mouth goes a looong way, and BAD word of mouth even further! read more
