This is one of the best places I ever ordered from in a long time so I love Spanish food and it's sometimes hard to find a place to eat Spanish food until I started ordering from exquisito. What can I say about exquisito one of the biggest things I like about exquisito is the fact that I never gotten sick from eating it and I never had a problem with the service when I called they take order quickly and without problems. Exquisito is definitely one of the best Dominican restaurants I have eaten from in a while one of my favorite meals is ether the baked or rotisserie chicken lunch specials or the pernel so so good. Time to talk about the prices I'm so happy that they have lunch special all day depending on what you get the lunch special prices vary between 8 dollars to 15 depending on what day it is and what's that specific days special. I can't say anything else about how great and affordable exquisito is I have never visited the restaurant but I highly recommend anybody who is in the mood for Spanish food Please order from exquisito or visit the location if you live around the area you will not regret it only thing I really want to try the ox tail but it's runs out so fast. The baked chicken is such an affordable meal 8 dollars for the meal I forgot to mention you do not need to get rice and beans. With all lunch specials you have a choice between rice and beans sweet plantains or salad with a soda I believe highly recommend the restaurant. The staff is known to be extremely rude to customers who aren't of their ethnicity. Most recently its customer base is predominantly families with undisciplined children. The food reeks of salt and vinegar which are signs that the meats are not fresh even though they are very busy. Too noisy to relax even if all you are eating is soup. read more

Ok, wow if you're lucky enough to live close by then you can always get good eats. They do deliver as well, not sure what their radius is tho. I find myself ordering their lunch special a lot. I got a liver meal with rice & beans for like $6. Only $6 is an insane price for anything that you order in NYC. I took a bite because this was not for me and it tasted good. Personally I don't eat liver but there's was good. The rice and beans are good as well. I just wish I would have gotten some burnt rice, the name of this escapes me. The dish I recommend is the seafood paella. Yes, you get a lot of rice but it is seasoned to perfection with random seafood. I just love all the flavor and seasoning. They are really a great dominican spot. But of course the second favorite dish here is their pork. The pork is super tasty. They deliver within 30 to 45 minutes. Feel totally rushed ordering food. Ladies yelling and screaming and soo quick to go to next person rather than Answer any questions about the food. They make up whatever prices they want and in the end the food wasn't that great to put up with the insane nonsense going on. My guests were praising the food the entire night. We booked everything with Yoleni. We went in person and she showed us all the food and the size of the pans. They delivered everything to me on time and her husband, the chef, even made a platter with my name spelled out in celery. He decorated the rice and pernil; just awesome! I ordered from this place today for the first time and it's definitely authentic Dominican which is what I wanted. I got the chicharron with rice and beans & also the rotisserie chicken. It was a snow storm today so the food took over an hour but when I called the restaurant the lady working was very nice and she told me the estimated time for Delivery due to the weather. I appreciated her honesty and just sat tight and waited for the food. The price was affordable and you get a lot of food for around $8 a plate. I will definitely order from here again. The Latin American presence has always been noticeable in Queens, but in Astoria the variety is picking up. The Colombian contingent that continues to rule Jackson Heights / Corona as well as its lesser densely populated Ecuadorian, Cuban, and Dominican counterparts have made Astoria another hood where it's suddenly available. Exquisito is among the latter, dubbing itself as a neighborhood takeout spot and has recently dived headfirst into the world of delivery. One thing that should be praised immediately are the prices. Their lunch specials for instance feature a nice glob of rice/beans/protein for somewhere between $4-8. The heaping for a small is certainly enough for a person with the most gluttonous appetite. Their pasta dishes are also in the $4 range and an entire cheese pizza is $9.99. Budget friendly seekers, you've found the right spot. But the honeymoon ends there unfortunately. The menu is a scatterboard of Dominican specialities, Italian, pizza, and meats. It's already somewhat of a red flag to feature all of those things, but if they were all amazing then there would be no problem. Sadly nothing I've tried has been worthy of much praise. Pastas are shoddily put together, the pizza is bland and dry, and the pork chops / steaks are also dry. I had a decent mofongo here in chicharron con queso fashion, but that's the sole highlight. I am not terribly fond of their pernil or the carne guisada, and the empanadas were too doughy for my preferences. I'm all for Latin joints doing well, but it's just so hard to justify subpar food *with* ridiculously long delivery. I've done better when going in and ordering straight from the counter, but the food fail even makes that a chore in itself. I love this place! The food is delicious and the ladies behind the counter are always nice and smiling. I've tried the oxtails, baked chicken, pasta with red sauce, pasta with garlic, beef stew, beef and chicken empanadas, Moro, rice and black and red beans, and Maduros. I've loved it all. The pasta with garlic is amazing with the baked chicken. The stew and oxtails are off the bone melt in your mouth deliciousness. The Maduros are ripe, sweet, crispy, and yummy. This place did a menu blitz in my area so we decided to try them. Ordered beef with peppers, pork with red sauce, plantains and beans and rice. Portions were legit. Don't freaking eat here! The employees are rude as hell and they rip people off with their prices everyday. I tried to give this place a million chances but as usual they screw up!! They can't get anything right. So just 20 mimutes ago I asked if they had stew chicken. This older lady who served me said yes and started making a plate of something I usually don't order. I was confused so I asked "is that regular stew chicken?" She could barely speak good english and kept saying yeah. Then I tried explaining to her that's not the stew chicken I usually order. After she makes the plate like a jackass she then says "oh that stew chicken no ready yet. No ready" then I said "okay never mind, I'll just get baked chicken". She then makes that plate and I say thank you. The other older lady who was a cashier says "8 dollars" and I become super confused because i just told the other lady to forget aboit making that other plate and she spitefully did it anyways! Then the cashier says "4 for 4, that's why its 8". So instead of the lady listening to me when I said forget it never mind she still charges me for what I didn't even want!! And when I said "exscuse me this is not what I wanted" she says "its not my fault". I told her before that's not the usual stew chicken that I order so right then and there she knew or should have caught on. Then when I asked for my refund for the stew chicken soup that she gave me she said "I can't put the food back because it will het messy". So I didn't receive a refund and she blamed me for her messing up my order. These place should be shut down. They're rude, bathroom is horrible, overpriced, and rip people off. The steam table was relatively full but they were out of any of the stew dishes: chicken, beef and oxtail. The rice and beans was not hot; the portion of roast pork I was served had an inch thick layer of fat - not sure if that's just luck of the draw or not. The food is good but with a high sodium hit. The portion was plated on a real plate but the server placed my dish at the wrong table. Let me start by saying the only thing "exquisito" about this place is their price range. Not sure who named the restaurant but I'm betting it's either the chef or someone who doesn't know real food. Sorry if this is already coming off as harsh but it has to be said. My first and last experience with this place was a delivery order. It was literally an hour late and I live like 7 blocks away. That already left a bad taste in my mouth... until the food came, which left an even worse taste. First of all, the food was cold and like I said, I only live 7 blocks away. The chicken chunks were basically chunks of bone with a bite of meat on each one (I've never had it like that before at any Dominican restaurant). The rice was okay and plentiful but the beans were just not that great. The tostones were soft and tasteless!!!! Like how do you even mess THAT up? Something you just fry so easily -- I think that's what shocked me the most actually. I also received a juice I didn't order (not sure if it was complimentary or a mistake but I don't like guava so I didn't enjoy it). I will also quickly note that I'm a huge dessert fan, so all of this could've been saved by their tres leches cake (which I always get at any Dominican restaurant, if available). This is the first time ever that I wished I hadn't ordered it. I was so excited to have this restaurant near me but it was nothing but a disappointment. There's a lot of places in the area for great Spanish food (there's actually one 3 blocks down where they're super sweet, food is great and the service is superb- Ecuadorian Food II).
