This is the one place my daughter and I go for our monthly pedicure and we have gone here every month since they opened. What makes Exquisite Salon & Spa our go to place is due to the friendliness of the proprietors a Mom and Daughter duo. They always take good care of us. The service that we get is excellent. Our pedicures lasts for a long time. I'm sure that if didn't get bored with the color my pedicure would last last longer. In fact it has. I think I was so busy one time that it was two and half months before I came in again. And for you gals who are plague by stubborn callus be assured that after your pedicure your feet will be as smooth as a baby's bottom. One other service that my daughter gets is to get her eyebrows done by Shina. She is very particular and won't go to anyone else. I used to go here to get my nails & waxing done, & they used to be amazing. I recently went back for a upper lip waxing, because we were in the area, & the lady who did my waxing was EXTREMELY rough (as if she was upset with me & my sister for not being their regulars anymore ... because we moved ). In addition, she ripped the skin right under my nose! It now stings to put on my moisturizers & wash my face. I will definitely not be going back to them, when I am in town, for anything! I have been going to this nail salon since 2007. My favorite service to get here are my eyebrows. Ask for Shina, she's amazing. Come in with a picture of how you want your eyebrows to look and she'll make it look better than the picture. She takes into account your face structure and then specialized the job from there. Their pedicure services are not bad. They do a good job getting rid of dead skin cells and do a decent job with their massages. Their manicures are ok, I always get a special design and or a fun accent when I come in here (like French tips). For formals in high school I would on occasion get my hair done here. They do a decent job. The friendly staff is the reason why I recommend this place. They are very personable. Whenever I come in they ask how my mom is doing and actually care. I went to salon today to get my eyebrows waxed and was told to wait in one of the waxing rooms and someone would service me. I went in the room and there was a worker in there. She didnt greet me at all. I spoke first and told her that i was instructed to come to this room for my eyebrows. The woman was very cold towards me for no reason she walked out the room and i watched her walk back and forth past my room for 12 minutes , took out the trash and did everything else but my eyebrows. She didnt have any other customers at that time. The lady that told me to wait in the room comes in and tells me the lady doesn't want to do my eyebrows. She offered to do it but i would have to wait 10 minutes after she finished up her client. At that point i told her that i did not feel welcomed there and since the other lady didnt want to do my eyebrows i will just leave. The lady didnt say sorry, she just said okay. I am a black woman and i refuse to pay for distain and disrespect, and blatant racism. I didnt do anything to that woman and i was judged and mistreated based on my black skin. After years of giving them a chance (due to the proximity from my house) I finally give up. I usually get my eyebrows done with someone else but every now and then when I cant get an appointment with her or I am in a rush I come here. Usually Kim or Michelle are available to do my eyebrows and they do an okay job. Not the best on the planet but not the worst either. Yesterday they had someone I hadnt seen before. I really should have walked out but I really needed my eyebrows done so I decided to just stay. First, she messed up the center part so now my left eyebrow starts at the top bridge of my nose but my right eyebrow starts on top of my eye. Its like my left brow is chasing my right brow. Second, the arch is done so poorly that even my ever-oblivious husband asked me why one of my eyebrows had a funny arch and the other didnt. On top of that she was dead set on "no, I dont see anything wrong with it". Well, this girl clearly has sight issues or is a pro in gaslighting. I really didnt even want to tip her but oh well. The worst part is I have a big family dinner in two days and then I am going to another state to see my in laws. What a perfect time to have messed up eyebrows. I also noticed yesterday this certainly isnt the cleanest salon ever. Plenty of newer, better, and cleaner options in the area. read more

I really hate writting bad reviews, but I think people need to be warned. I decided to go to this place to get my nails done since it was so close to my house. I usually get shellac for my mani, and it usually last 2-3 weeks. I went to this place on a friday after work, and they seemed so busy which I thought it was a good sign. My lady started by cutting my nails with a cuticle clippers, then she started filing my nails and I noticed that she was leaving them uneven. She applied the nail polish and left some parts of my nail without any polish at all. I had to tell her to correct it. I left and noticed that my nails were so uneven that I had to file them myself. Two days after I got my manicure, the nailpolish started coming off, and for anyone who has had shellac done you know that this mani is more expensive than the regular stuff, so I went back to get it fixed. She only fixed the two nails that were chipped, without charge, as it should be but now the other nail polish is coming off of the nails that were not fixed and it hasn't been a week yet! I can honestly say that I will not be coming back to this place again. I have no idea how they stay so busy there, maybe it was just my lady, but either way I won't be coming back. I have been coming to this salon for the last 5 or so years and have never had an issue with anyone that works at the salon. I usually go to Anna for a mani/pedi/eyebrow wax, sometimes a haircut and she has always been very polite and kind and does a fantastic job on my nails. She is very friendly and always asks how things are in my day-to-day life and vice versa. She does not have to do this but it is a nice touch to the services she provides. To the best of my knowledge everything looks clean and sanitized. I have never had any health issues in that regard. I have no problem walking in to get things done or making an appointment, Anna manages to squeeze in time for me when it is a last minute thing. If anything I have to wait 10 or 15 minutes. Overall I think this salon is great and I have yet to experience anything that makes me think otherwise. I will continue to keep this salon as my go-to place. Keep up the good work ladies! read more

I worked super late one night and came in an hour before they closed to get my nails done. I walked in and was rudely stared at for probably 15 minutes from the room before someone coldly greeted me, asked what I wanted done (acrylic full set), and "invited" me to sit down in a chair. Then, after 15 more minutes, they asked what I wanted again. I told them full acrylic set and the lady shook her head at me (while servicing a customer) and said they didn't have time. There was another nail tech not working on a customer the entire time I was there btw. I left over 30 minutes later with nothing done to my nails. I have been coming here for more than 8 years to get my hair cut and colored by Shahira. She does the best color!!!! My hair is normally black but she lightens it a little and adds highlights that looks so natural and mixed in. I get compliments everywhere I go. The price is reasonable considering she has to use a lot of color since my hair is long. Both me and my mom come here for cuts and color only by Shahira. FOUL. Their manicure tools are NOT sterilized before using on each client. The cuticle cutter had someone else's cuticle skin still in THEM!!!!!! As if that weren't enough, the employees are rude, hostile, and extremely unprofessional. The manicure lasted exactly one day and a half before most of it chipped off and when I attempted to go back to get my money back, livid at the thought of the entire experience, their attitude was repulsive. I took my daughters here for manicures and one fill the day before school started as a little first day of school treat. I left them with my teenager while I ran an errand in milestone. When I came back, my middle daughter was under the UV light drying her nails and when I looked at them, they were a clumpy smudged mess. She is 12 years old and able to sit still BTW. I asked her what happened and she said the woman bumped her hand and wouldn't fix it and yelled at her for "messing it up" She refused to fix it. I went to the woman and told her about the manicure and she shrugged and said my daughter wouldn't sit still. Even if my daughter DID bump it, its the manicurist job to fix it. I told her we'd need it fixed and she told me she'd have to wait. Her tone and over all attitude was so rude. My daughter told me she yelled at her twice. I was livid. I started to fix the nail myself! She just watched as she gave someone else a pedicure. Finally another nail tech came to help me. It was the worst experience in a nail salon I've ever had. She was so rude and unprofessional. Secondly- all three of the girls nails chipped and the paint came off in about 24 hours. I wouldn't recommend this place AT ALL!!!! read more

Wow. I really hate to write bad reviews but my experience today was so awful, I felt it was the right thing to do. I went in today with my mother; Mary did my nails. She was the most unprofessional nail tech I've ever seen. My paint is already chipping. She was rude, kept talking about me in front of me in Vietnamese and was visibly angry. The real issues started however when My mother and I sat down to get our mani's done. She and her fellow nail tech quoted me an unusually high price for a mani+pedi and insisted that I pay for the services before she does my mani, so my nails won't get ruined when paying with my credit card. 1) Before I head over to pay, I decide to look at the services pamphlet to confirm the prices she was quoting me. Turns out, she was adding services separately and quoting me the price instead of the joint mani+pedi price. So pretty much, Mary and her colleague were trying to cheat me by charging me extra than the official price and make a profit, in the meantime. I called them out for the price increase and they immediately agree to what was written in their pamphlet. 2) I go to pay for my and my mother's services and Mary starts whispering me to give her cash (no problem, but didn't have any on me). She asks me to go to Giant grocery and get some cash. I end up writing the tip on the bill from my credit card and I tip her more than 10% but she's visibly MAD. I made a mistake by tipping before the services because let me tell you. She did the WORST MOST UNPROFESSIONAL MANI JOB, I've ever seen in my life. She kept yelling and I realize she's talking about me because not only is she yelling with her colleagues about me, she's avoiding eye contact, rolling her eyes but keeps saying "10 dollars" aka how much I had tipped her in between her rants, while shes doing my crappy mani job. She was irate and was purposely trying to show me. All she did was throw the color on my nails and without saying anything else took out her receipts and started counting them. No lotion, no oil, no proper top coats. She showed me she was mad and I didn't even get a proper service that I had PAID FOR!!!! Mary is the most unprofessional and disrespectful nail tech I have ever seen. She did a horrible job on my nails and they are already chipping. I get the gel manicure which actually lasts around 3 weeks for me which is odd since I wash my hands constantly in my profession. Terrible! Got a bikini wax here. first off she did not even get out of the room for me to change, she just stood there. She double dipped into the wax and it was the most painful wax I had ever gotten (I have had several bikini waxes elsewhere). Once she was done she did not clean off the wax. Terrible. I still have wax on my eye lashes as I'm typing this. Just had my eye brow waxed during lunch time. Walked in and receptionist took me striaght back to the 'salon room'. She (receptionist) proceeded to start on my eye brows and didn't ask me what style I wanted. I figured she would just follow what's already there (natural). After waxing, she started wiping my eye brow area with what smelled like cotton pads with alcohol, but she pressed down and wiped really really hard and it was hurting. She even started pulling on my eye lash cause she was trying to get the wax out. I've had eye brow wax dozens of times but never had such horrible service. My brows came out really skinny and uneven. I originally go to a nail salon in Olney that I completely trust doing my nails its called Fancier nails, been going there since I was around the age of 13. This past week I was house sitting for someone in the Germantown area and was looking for a place to do my nails since my gel french I previously had done was peeling off and my nails were way past due. I RARELY do this because I only trust a few. I arrived in the salon at around 7:00 o'clock with my sister, we both wanted a gel manicure. The first thing I asked when I walked in was what time they closed, which was 8:00 and if they accept tips on cards, which they said they did. She filed my nails completely uneven you'd have to be blind not to notice, my gel manicure was completely sloppy and uneven, she didn't put my nails in the UV light long enough and they are still not hard enough and i can make little marks so easily in the nail. There are even little waves and bubbles in the naipolish from the light, now i know she noticed this cause like i said you'd have to be BLIND not to notice. i later noticed that there were so much gel under my nail that i had to later scrape out when i got home. as soon as my nails were done my girl immediately left... it wasn't even 8 o clock yet and no wonder she was rushing my nails. as we were paying the girl who did my sisters nails kept insisting that she go to the giant next door and get cash back for the tip when we clearly stated we were putting them on our cards. then she kept telling my sister what percentage to tip her as if my sister had no right in what percentage she deserved, which wasn't much. Overall i don't know how this place is still in business, just avoid this place all together, terrible service. read more
