After our initial conversation, I knew I wanted to book Expression Events. Jessie was just awesome. I felt like I was talking to a good friend because he understood exactly what kind of a wedding we were going for, got a good feel for the kind of couple we were and our personalities, and didn't try to push us into anything we didn't want. He was respectful. I feel the need to write this because I spoke to quite a few other DJ's who weren't as respectful! Talking to Jessie was really comfortable and I just knew he was the perfect DJ for us. In the end, my husband and I are both really happy that we went with Jessie for our wedding day. We truly could not have asked for a better DJ. Jessie cued the music in perfectly for our entire ceremony and all throughout the night during cocktail hour, reception, and on the dance floor. From when the dance floor was packed to when it was just me and my one friend on the dance floor just bobbing along, Jessie kept the awesome music going and ensured everyone was having a good time. I'm pretty sure my girl friends requested the same song (their at-the-time go-to song) like 5 times throughout the night and Jessie gladly kept them on the dance floor- they loved him! Guests also complimented the the cocktail hour and dinner playlist- all credits go to Jessie. I only suggested a genre or two to him :) I'll definitely be recommending Expression Events/Jessie to all my friends and family going forward. We love Jessie and Sara of Expression Events! We met them at a bridal faire in San Jose and signed up for both DJ/MC and the photo booth by Sara. Jessie and Sara are so easy to work with, no pressure, no stress. We filled out online event forms for planning of our timeline and our requested songs. I wish I could give Expression Events 10 stars. This husband-wife duo really made our wedding day. They took care of our weddings music, lighting, and Photo Booth needs, and then some. A really very stellar team. From day one, Jessie and Sara were both very good about getting back to me promptly as far as my questions and concerns went. They were very patient, and very accommodating. This was especially nice as planning everything else for our wedding was stressful enough in itself! They were very understanding and accommodating throughout the entire process -from Q&A's before booking all the way through the last dance on the day of. First I'll touch on Jessie -he was our emcee/DJ. He also arranged all of our lighting needs at the venue. We gave Jessie the liberty to play whatever music was in, hot, and trending -and most importantly what would keep the audience going. And man, the dance floor was hot hot HOT on our wedding night. I wasn't expecting the dance floor to be packed! So, Jessie certainly did something right! Also, Jessie was like our autopilot system for the evening. He was able to drive the timeline for our wedding, keeping everything scheduled on point, and ready to go. He helped to coordinate the evenings events -like a well greased wheel, everything went super smoothly that night. And frankly, I don't think this would have happened like it did if it were not for Jessie's expertise and ability to work on the fly. Lighting. We had some simple uplighting and dance floor lighting -but this made a world of difference for setting the mood at the venue. Super pleased on this front. Sara took care of the Photo Booth -which was awesome! It was a huge hit at the wedding, and people kept coming up to me telling me how fun, and smooth everything went with the photo booth. Props were included, at no additional charge, which was a big plus. Booth itself was clean, and very nice. Couldn't ask for more. Sara was able to handle all of the people quickly, and efficiently. Everyone got their prints quick -our guests also mentioned they were happy that they got more than one copy of their photos, so more than one person can take a strip home. Sara also created a memory book for my [now] wife and I. The memory book was completed by evenings end, and looks gorgeous. Simple, elegant, and tasteful. I would definitely recommend this nice add on, if at least for the nostalgia factor. Some closing thoughts; -On the day of our wedding, both Jessie, and Sara were on time (even early, I think) and got set up quickly. Everything was just ... well, perfect. -Another thing to mention is that their rates/prices are very competitive. Believe me, I did the shopping around. For what we paid, we got one hell of a deal. You can't put a price on their awesome, professional personalities either. Took care of our DJ/lighting/photo booth needs in one shot, at a great price. -Both Jessie, and Sara kept my wife and I in the loop EVERY step from beginning to end. This was great, and I would think that most people really appreciate this. I would highly recommend Expression Events for any party needs you have. Jessie and Sara are both absolutely incredible!! Jessie is an amazing Dj. Before the wedding, we gave him a few songs that we liked and a few songs that we didn't like, and he immediately had a spot-on understanding our style. He was really thoughtful in asking about our specific preferences in terms of what should be announced, how the lighting should look, etc. He was also an integral part in making the entire night run smoothly (transitioning us from cocktail hour to dinner to toasts). When it came time to dance, he really knew how to get the crowd going -- he did a great job of mixing the music and teasing certain songs. We loved it!! Sara was a total sweetheart. She worked with us to create a perfect layout and background. She made our guests feel so comfortable and everyone had a blast playing in the photobooth. She also got all of the photos up online within a few days after the wedding and our guests are having so much fun looking at them! read more

I booked Expression Booth for my daughter's first birthday party 2 weeks ago and I was so happy I did!!! We have used Jessie as our DJ for past family events and have always been so happy we did. He is the BEST DJ and plays a variety of music. He is very professional and worked with me to make sure he played music that went with my idea of how I wanted the party to be. From the music played at the beginning of the event, during dinner and afterwards...He was amazing!!! So as soon as they added the photo booth to their services I could not wait to have an event where I could use them! When I first contacted Sara she was so sweet and friendly and followed up with all information I needed right away. Once I worked out the theme for my daughter's party Sara began working on props and graphics. She had the colors on the graphics go exactly with my theme! Sara was always so good with keeping in contact with me to ensure we had everything needed for the day of the event. The day of the event everyone was thrilled to be able to use the photo booth. I had a lot of kids from all ages and Sara was so patient and kind with all of my guests. She had stools for the little ones to use for the pictures too which was great since that was not something I would have thought of. The photobooth was really the HIT of my daughter's party!! Everyone kept talking about it and how fun it was. All my guests really loved Sara as well! She really helped me make my daughter's 1st birthday one we will remember as so much fun and unforgettable. She also got me the digital copy right away which was so much fun to go through and see all the photos my guests took. I highly recommend Jessie and Sara! I have been to a couple functions DJ'd by Expression Events. One being my wedding! I could not have asked for a better DJ! We met numerous times before the event, they show cased their lighting before hand, they were very prompt, professional, and within our budget! The owner is extremely easy to work with, and worked well with my wedding planner and other wedding vendors. I have recommended them numerous times to my friends upon getting engaged, and will continue to recommend them in a heart beat. I was married 7 years ago, and to this day people mention how much fun they had at our wedding. This would not have been the case if it weren't for our wonderful DJ. We hired Jessie as our DJ for our Class of 2013, 8th grade graduation party and he was awesome! And as a bonus treat, we added in the photo booth and that was a huge hit :) The entire night was made all the more memorable by the songs he played, the interaction with both the kids and parents and how he was able to keep everyone engaged and having fun!! We hired Jessie and Sara for our middle school graduation party and they were fantastic. They were very responsive, excellent communication, asked questions and helped us make the event special for both the students and parents. Jessie had a link where the students (and parents) could request songs for the party. Parents and students were on the dance floor together and having a parent/child dance was a beautiful touch.
