He was recommended for our May 2025 wedding by our venue Scribner Bend (and seconded by a friend who booked him for her wedding), and we immediately clicked with both Mike and his wife Heather at a vendor fair. Mike asked all of the right questions, provided so much thoughtful advice, and made us smile every time we met. He provided some really great insights for building a great ambience. On the day of our wedding, he curated the vibe perfectly and made everything flow smoothly. We didn't need to worry about a single thing knowing that Mike would manage the flow and energy. Our dance floor was so energetic and we got lots of compliments on his upbeat demeanor. A real highlight for our guests was his suggestion entirely, starting dinner with a "Dance for Your Dinner" which got the energy up and primed everyone to get down on the dance floor later. We also opted for uplighting through MR DJ, which was totally worth the money. We really loved the old Hollywood style lights, they added such a cool vibe to our dance floor and our photos. Mike and Heather were very professional in coordinating our DJ services for our wedding. Mike was the most expensive DJ out of our list of vendors that we had to choose from, so we had high expectations. We had multiple meetings with Mike leading up to our wedding to pound out the details. We chose to add a few suggestions of music, but wanted to let his professional experience also come through in his services. Ceremony and Cocktail hour went great and everything went smooth. Where we thought Mike fell short though was playing the wrong song for our first dance for about the first minute of mine and my brides first dance in which he apologized for. My family is also Greek and I requested Greek music to be played at the end of the night. Which Mike and I agreed upon and I sent a list of 4 songs in an email. Towards the end of the night my best man had to request Greek music to be played and when he talked to Mike. Mike stated that he never received any Greek music from me. Which was a lie, because I sent an email with 4 Greek songs to be played on August 9th at 5:33 pm. He also replied to the email stating " Thank you for the names and Greek favorites." None of those 4 songs were played, but he did play the Dancing Zorba. Overall this service was good, but can not give it a 5-Star review due to the hiccups we encountered. It's also well worth noting that they were clearly comfortable and experienced working a wedding that was both LGBT and Jewish. Mike aka Mr. DJ was the best absolute best DJ out there. My wife and I had our wedding during COVID-19, which resulted in only 20 people, including the bride and groom at the reception. However, the moment was set throughout the entire night all thanks to Mr. DJ. We had all types of request that we wanted played at the wedding such as Motown, Country, Reggaeton, and R&B/Hip-Hop just to name a few genres. We loved working with MR DJ for a recent wedding at the Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe. We hired Mike Regan as our DJ/MC, Heather Regan as our Day of Coordinator and the "Candid Ham" photo booth trailer for our September 21st, 2018 wedding. Mike was ok. For the $2295 we paid him for our wedding (which I have to think is top price in Sacramento) I was expecting him to be amazing, but alas he was just ok. My concerns: When I looked over at him from time to time during the event he looked bored Many people complained that they could not hear the music duing the ceremony such as when the family walked down the aisle and when my dad walked me down the aisle He played the wrong last song He stopped playing music 15 minutes prior to the event ending. Maybe that is expected for tear down time, but if so you should let the customer know about it in advance. Mike is a super nice guy, I have been to other events he has DJ'ed and he was amazing. Again I think I was really caught up in the price for his serives. With set up and tear down he was there for about 7 hours. He says he puts in a lot of time putting the play lists together, but on his website you really do most of it for him. His services just did not seem to warrant his $3,000 price. I would have gladly paid him $1,500 and used him again. This was a few years ago when economic times were different so maybe he has lowered his prices since then. read more
