I was searching left and right for a legit BLS certification class and was coming up with really questionable and shady places all over SD county. I finally linked with Express Training Solutions through the AHA site so I knew it was good. The enrollment was SUPER easy!!! One click and I was ready to go. And had next day courses still available. Literally the only one in San Diego that is going daily! I took the blended online/in-person skills test course. The online course is easy enough and made it convenient for me to do things on my own time before the test date. Since I needed it so quickly, I literally completed omthe online test at 2 AM and had my scheduled skills test at 2PM after a bit of sleep. The Mission Valley location is easy to get to and has plenty of parking. I arrived early and was treated to some much needed coffee (see 2 AM bit.) Then I headed in for the skills test part. I was the only one there so it was more personalized but I was in and out in about 40 minutes. Patrick was my tester and made the test fun, enjoyable (as blowing into manequins can be,) and educational. He gave me some ideas on how to remember certain details on infant BLS and general that I hadn't known before even though I've done this a few times over the years. This place is great. I took the traditional Full PALS course on Monday and our instructor Ahmad was great. He made the class super easy to follow along and understand including scenarios for us to use the information in real life situations. The facility is very clean and parking was easy. The morning of my class I got stuck in some traffic and called about 15 minutes before the class started to let them know that I would make the class but would be about 5 minutes late. The lady who answered took my message and relayed It to them so when I arrived the class just started. They have complimentary coffee, water they also have snacks available for $1. The location is close to many places to eat so if you're scheduled for a long course and get a lunch break, it's easy to go out and pick something up if you forget to bring your lunch. I enrolled in the TNCC two day course. I drove to San Diego from Los Angeles just to attend the course because I heard a lot of great things about the courses offered here and the instructors. Jason lead the lecture portion of the course I attended and I will say he was pretty funny which made it easier to stay engaged. They also allowed us to practice inserting IO'S on chicken bones which was fun and practical. The staff was friendly and helpful and communicated all that was needed for the course beforehand. I felt fully prepared for testing which I was pretty nervous about initially but we had a lot of practice. Overall it was a great course and there are also a lot of hotels around the faculty which made it convenient if you are not from the area! Signed up for a class here and was pleasantly surprised at how thoughtful the instructor and program was in the regard for the students learning outcomes and safety during the Covid-19 pandemic! Got recertified here just today for BLS/CPR, and I had a great experience. The instructor we had was Kim and she was fantastic! Great enthusiasm and kept the class on track while also making it fun. She was knowledgable and answered all of our questions. The class should take a maximum of 4.5 hours, but you could possibly get out earlier depending on class size or if you guys just stay on track. I would definitely recommend going here even if it is your first time attempting to get certified. They have nice and enough equipment (better manikins than what I had when I was first certified)! They even have a "concession stand" along with free coffee or tea in the back. Signing up for the class was easy and straight forward. There are many dates available on their site. Ahmed is extremely knowledgable and makes it interesting. He is quirky and entertaining. He taught our entire theory class, went over advanced airways, tested us on our BLS skills, and then we split into two groups for our pracitcal megacode scenarios. I was the only one in the full course ACLS class with instructor Ahmed, which later became integrated with the ACLS renewal class around lunch time. He's awesome, just like all the other instructors! He clarified every question that I had and made everything simple enough for anyone to understand. I loved how he incorporated his experience in the real world as well. The dude was extremely knowledgeable and funny which made learning easier. The facility itself, like most have acknowledged, is very comfortable, convenient to park in the lot, and simple to find. Atmosphere- I attended the BLS class on a Saturday morning. ETS is located at the far building from the driveway entrance. There were plenty of chairs in the reception area and snack/ break room with coffee and snacks (for sale) available. Plus, the AC. The actual classroom easily occupied 10 adults plus the instructor, and was spacious for all of us to work with the manikins on the floor. Customer Service- The class was instructed by Adam. He was helpful and entertaining, considering the full class for an entire Saturday morning. Throughout class, Adam constantly reviewed key information that may be on the test. Price- Reasonable. Time- Although the site stated a 4-hour stay, we were able to get through the course and test in 3 hours and 15 mins. Watching videos and demonstrating our skills made the class go by faster. I did an ACLS renewal course ($150) and a BLS renewal course ($40) and I brought my old ACLS and BLS books, so I saved myself $45 and $15 dollars. They send you an email after you purchase the course with what you need to bring as well as two very useful study guides in preparation for the pre-assessment test that you will need to take prior to the course. The facility was very easy to find with plentiful parking. The staff was super friendly and told us where the break room and bathrooms were. The max amount of trainees is 8, which was how many were there when I did my course. The instructor, Peter, was incredibly engaging and friendly, which made th hours go by very fast. We watched a few short videos during the beginning, and he would recap each one to let us know what to focus on for our exams. And then we did the code portions--he was helpful and made us feel very comfortable, tailoring the scenarios to our professions. He also talked briefly about all the new and recent updates (meds, dosages, etc) to look out for. He was very efficient, and so passing the expected time to finish the course should not be an issue. I felt that I had all the tools I needed to pass the exam at the end of the course. They also give you a discount code 20% that's valid for future classes should you train with them again (it's unlimited and doesn't expire!) Just got done with my full course ACLS class with BLS add on. My class was small which made for a less intimidating experience and no stress. Not my first time at this rodeo so I know how stressful ACLS can be. Ahmed was great, kept us engaged and entertained at the same time while educating us. Super fun. A++ The facility is easy to find -across the street from Benihana - with lots of free parking and they have a break room with free snacks in the back incase you forgot your lunch but you're in the middle of Mission Valley and walking distance to TGIF. Prices are reasonable and honestly you don't need the ACLS book unless you really want to have one. Just take the pretest (pretty good indicator if you'll pass the written test at the end) and know your strips and meds. You'll be fine and have fun! read more
