I took the BLS class with Kahlil in Poway and I definitely recommend him. The class was small which made a huge difference. I received amazing feedback and had all of my questions answered. In a larger class, I definitely wouldn't have had that experience especially since I'm usually shy about asking questions. Yolanda was great as well. She scheduled me for a class quickly and even followed up afterward to make sure I received my certification card. Get your card the same day! Mike, you are the man! I came in last Saturday to renew my ACLS. The cool thing is is if your card has expired, you have 3 months that you can renew it! This is by far the most inexpensive place to go to for initial & renewals for BLS, ACLS, PALS, & NRP in San Diego! Also, they have incentives for taking a class with them such as money back for liking them on Facebook & referrals. They have 2 locations: Chula Vista & Balboa. Our class was small & had 4 students. I enjoyed Mike's teaching because he was very knowledgeable, big on group participation, & allowed us to practice the skills hands on versus just lectures which can be extremely boring. Definitely recommended! This is the first time I've ever had to take a BLS class so I wasn't sure what to expect, but Life Support Academy made it very easy. I texted them a few questions and got a response so quickly, within a few minutes! I was also able to sign up last minute for a same-day class, which is extremely helpful especially since I have a crazy mommy brain which makes me forget to do things on time. This place is awesome. I got a text from my manager (today 7/27/18) Friday late morning that my BLS will expire the end of July (that's in 4 days) I'm schedule to work the next 5 nights. I'm beyond stress, trying to look online for something stat. I attempted to registered for Sunday renewal class, but also texted just to make sure they'll be able to get me in. The owner or whoever that answer the text said that Sunday is available but they also can get me in Friday evening class, which was in 4hrs. How awesome is that!!! Took the stress away immediately. My friend recommended to use this place for my BLS and ACLS renewal. This is one of the cheapest places in San Diego for the certifications. After some scheduling issues were ironed out class starting moving along at a good pace. The instructor was Mike and he did an excellent job highlighting the important stuff. The class was about 5 hours in total. I felt like he kept the class moving, but didn't skip out on anything that you need to know and it wasn't too rushed. He kept it interesting and interactive. There is coffee and some chips/cookies in the back, but other than that no lunch break so maybe eat a big breakfast or bring along some food that has more substance. I regret not bringing anything because the class goes through lunch time and I was starving by the end. I will definetly be using these guys in the future for my renewals. read more

Took my PALS renewal class here today and I got to say I am so glad I did. Mike the instructor was awesome, he took the time to really explain things clearly for the class. You could tell he really enjoyed teaching and was passionate about what he does. At the end of the day he made passing PALS more about just passing but actually understanding the subject. I walked away feeling prepared and knowledgeable about saving kids, and I got some CEUs in the process. The price was better the most places and the scheduling was easy. LOVE LOVE life support academy!!! Today I went for my BLS renewal and ACLS initial. This is my second time with LSA as I did my first BLS with them also. Both times I had Alberto as my instructor. I can't say thank you enough! He is absolutely phenomenal! BLS, he explains simple, fast and easy. You will know 100% what to do! Now ACLS, I literally was SOO lost at first. I really don't have much experience (RN new grad and current LVN that just doses meds all day). I did not study before hand either, and was really scared because I needed a major refresher! Anyways, he really took the time to explain things and even when needed (I asked a lot of questions) would explain the patho behind it to help me understand. His way of teaching and explanations were better than what I got in my entire BSN program!
