However, the computer was monitoring me and giving advice that was super helpful. I believe that my favorite thing about Surefire would be the convenience, there are multiple locations in San Diego and they are offered at by the hour. There was a link that had videos of someone else practicing CPR on the mannequins, which was super helpful- on that same link showed a video of instructions on how to enter the building. Once I arrived to the room, I turned the light on, wiped down the mannequins with a sanitizer wipe, and then logged into the computer. You're given multiple attempts to pass, and it will give you advice on how often you should compress/ventilate, when you switch, and how deep your compressions should go. I would recommend this experience to anyone.

I was sent a few videos with tips for passing the skills check and clear instructions on how to get to the location/suite. Despite there being no instructor, the location feels very safe and there are so many instructions posted that one would know exactly what to do to pass their skills check and in a timely manner. This class went over first aid and CPR, mainly the basics given a certian situation. Since all situations will be different being able to recognize some signs we're helpful. The instructor Tricia was expressive and engaging, the 4 hour class flew by quickly with an information dump of how-tos, both in video format and with partner demonstrations. There were room for questions after each section and each answer was informative. Luckily they provide a take home manual that summarizes the slides you'll be going through if you forget. Bring snacks and drinks (closed tops/bottles), as you'll get breaks in between, though they do offer some for sale. Overall great class and definitely recommend it either for a first time, refrehser or if you need the most basic form of certification.

Originally, we looked into a CNA program at a location nearby...they had too many applicants. That's when I searched around the area and found this school, and honestly, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise. The program was well structured, the instructors were incredibly knowledgeable and supportive and the learning environment was professional and encouraging. He had a thorough clinical rotation at a skilled nursing facility/rehab nearby. My son learned so much during the course and more importantly he PASSED his CNA exam on the first try (btw, he really studied hard and practiced blood pressures, checking respirations and heart rate on each of our family members.) One of the best parts is that all the credits are transferable. He's on track to apply to further his education and pursue a career in nursing. I highly recommend Healthcare Science Academy.
