I have to go through building management and file some paperwork, etc. The person who works for Cosmopolitan Interiors wanted to get AROUND that and said, "Oh-- i'll talk to your Super about it and get it taken care of." I told him that they were pretty strict on certain things and that I would deal with the paperwork, but he was very adamant about it... so i let him deal with it since he wanted to. After he "talked to my Super," we set-up a Saturday and confirmed that my tub would get reglazed between the time of 10am-2pm. I wait all day for someone to come and no one shows.... no phone call at all...nothing. I call the employee up and leave a message and informing that i'm about to leave because it's approaching 2pm and no one is here. The employee calls me back and goes, "Oh. I'm sorry, but my guy couldn't make it there. I can send someone else now." To make a long story short... I wait another hour and a half for a guy to come, but because this employee failed to communicate properly with my super... the worker was not allowed into my building to work on my bathtub. I pretty much wasted an entire Saturday waiting for a guy to come to my BUILDING and received a phone call to tell me that I need to reschedule. I eventually got my tub re-glazed and it turned out beautifully, but that one incident made me very angry and i was furious for a good 2 hours. I will give credit to this company-- they treat you well and are very accommodating (good customer service-- very caring and genuinely want your business), but that one incident was very unfortunate and i was angry for a good 2 hours. They guarantee the best price in town, so if you go to them and have a cheaper estimate from another company-- they'll match it/beat it.

W/o further ado: Mario of MG European Corp. has been such a pleasure to work with that we're tempted to renovate rooms that don't even need it, just to work with him again. He does the work himself. He does exactly what he says he's going to do, and he's done when he says he'll be done. He finished our six-week project a week early. He cleaned every day on his way out; we joked that he left our house neater than he found it. And he's pleasant to be around, which isn't unimportant when someone's going to be in your space for 12 hours a day. Our project was a bathroom gut do-over, expanding it through two closets and an air shaft, plus work in the kitchen and surrounding hallways; he also built an entirely new bathroom and laundry area in the basement. We're 100% pleased with the results. From the guts to the lightswitches, every detail is precise and beautiful. He anticipates and heads off future issues. Every single thing is done right the first time. His tile work is flawless; our plumber says it's some of the nicest work he's ever seen. We consider ourselves extremely lucky to have found Mario. Periodically during the work we'd say something - "Wow, that looks great" - and he'd always shrug and say "I'm just trying to do the right thing." Mario and his wife Elizabeth (who handles sceduling and paperwork) were just amazing. Other contractors I called balked at the job because I was dealing with an insurance company. Elizabeth and Mario were beyond helpful and patient and worked with me to get the job done beatifully and within budget, and getting all the documentation for the coop. Mario's work is excellent- you can't see where the damaged sections were replaced. He even matched 10 year old paint perfectly. He was careful to keep construction dust and paint off furniture and floors and we were able to stay in the apartment most of the time. He got the work done in time for the holidays so the place is beautiful. They are a pleasure to work with and I won't use anyone else.
