He listened, measured, designed, built, and delivered with no hassle. He was responsive, patient and the craftsmanship blew my mind away. He paid attention to every detail - from custom making the perfectly matched crown molding at the bottom of the desk into the wall crown molding (flush and clean) to wire management, convenience features, lighting and any other details you don't think of as a customer until you own the piece. We will be using him again. I absolutely recommend him. You cannot find too many contractors like David.

Dave is a consummate professional and a skilled craftsman; he listened closely to our requests and delivered a beautiful custom kitchen that we will cherish for years to come. Dave is kind, patient and incredibly hard-working. I wholeheartedly recommend McKay's Custom Cabinets!

We were getting a kitchenette installed in a new addition for our handicapped brother when our…read morecontractor, (who is really great, by the way - no complaints about him), hired Ironwood Cabinet Design to do the kitchen. The man we dealt with was named John, and he was as big of an asshat as they come. First, he designed a very upscale kitchen that we didn't need, and then, while it may have been technically handicapped accessible, was completely unsuited for our wheelchair-bound brother. Our brother is brain-damaged. He does not cook for himself. And his tastes are very simple. We needed a simple little stove - two burners at most. A sink and a refrigerator. That's it. He has two pans, and a set of dishes for one. We explained all this to John, and what did he give us? A huge kitchen, with loads of cabinet space he'd never use in a lifetime. Two spinning corner cabinets, and a pull out spice rack! This is all high-end cabinetry, with moldings and trim and crown molding and the works! We wanted a simple little kitchen that was light and airy, and he closed it in with unnecessary walls that shut it off from the rest of the house, and designed a counter that you couldn't roll a wheelchair under! Despite several meetings with John, in which he assured us that he was listening to our concerns, he continued to give us inappropriate design after inappropriate design until we flat-out fired him and designed the kitchen ourselves. We had to eat the cost of the cabinetry he ordered before the revisions, which we gave to Habitat for Humanity, so at least SOME good came from the whole debacle. So, if you want to have an egotistical asshat design a fancy kitchen that you don't want or need, and refuses to listen to you no matter how many time you tell him he's wrong. If you like to throw good money after bad and have someone else design the kitchen of your dreams for you without your input, (after all, it's in your house, not his), then, by all means, hire Ironwood Cabinet Designs to build your kitchen. But, if you actually want to have some say in how your kitchen will be designed and built, and maybe, just maybe, be treated like something other than a walking bag of money, then go somewhere else. We did a revision of the kitchen at Home Depot and they were very nice about the whole thing, even though we never spent any money there. Don't deal with Ironwood!

When we ordered a washer and dryer that would not fit he found other parts of the project to work on until we could get what would fit. From start to finish they took three weeks. Our project was definitely a large task in our eyes as they rerouted all the plumbing within a concrete slab. As you can see the finished project is beautiful and we are no longer embarrassed when someone requests to use our bathroom.

Several years later we decided to reach out to Carla for her opinion on a redesign of our 1990's bathroom. Carla came up with a great design to maximize and enhance the space, including a jetted tub and larger shower. Working with Carla was easy and she asked great questions to make us think about what we really needed and wanted. Carla also helped us avoid costly mistakes. She came up with some great solutions for our backsplash, counters, tiles, and hardware. The trades she recommended were also very good to work with. I would not hesitate to recommend Carla to others and use her in the future for any redesign projects.

Carla spent significant time with us listening carefully, evaluating our space, answering questions, and offering suggestions. The planning process was thorough and all estimates were on point. Carla brings 30 years' experience in design and construction to the process. She worked to make us happy, but stood her ground when what we asked was not a good idea. From planning through execution, her communication was superb. Questions were answered quickly. We always knew what to expect and when subcontractors would be at our job. Her subcontractors did excellent work and were a pleasure to have in our home. Carla personally checked on each day's work, ensuring that all aspects were up to her very high standard. As with any construction project, not everything went perfectly. Carla stepped in as our advocate with suppliers, always exhibiting grace under pressure to ensure delays were minimized. Her mantra is, "There is always a solution!" Then there is the "above and beyond" aspect of working with Gemini Design Group. Carla noticed the step from the kitchen into the garage was too high thus a bit dangerous. It had always been that way so over 20 years we had become used to it. Being comfortable with picking up tools to make things right, Carla designed and built a proper step into our garage. We are grateful to have found Carla Gaeta of Gemini Design Group. You can place your trust in her to deliver a beautiful, functional kitchen, bath, or both! In fact, Gemini will be starting work on our main bathroom very soon.
