Worst Mediterranean food I have ever had. I can almost guarantee nothing is actually cooked or prepped from scratch. All products are off the shelf and from frozen. I am a chef and food consultant and know the brand they are using. This is the worst Mediterranean food I have had in my life. I have had gyros is Southeast Asia, South America, and all over the American South (all places that don't typically serve Mediterranean food) and all of them were better than this. It made me really sad that the owners clearly have Greek pride yet have chosen to serve the worst/cheapest "off the shelf" products in the marketplace. In some cases it would be cheaper to actually make some components from scratch, but this restaurant decided they would rather just buy it and serve it without caring how it tastes. I can understand how Covid and labor shortages can be very difficult for restaurants. The level of food quality that has been achieved here is sickening and needs to be corrected. 15 years of using yelp. This is the first time I have been compelled to call out a restaurant on their shit. I was personally horrified. read more

We came here after my son's soccer game. This place is beyond fantastic. The moment you walked in, you feel the hospitality and the excitement from wonderful food. The warm food reminds me of a mothers cooking. The hosts are very friendly. We are a family with three young kids. Everyone felt amazing when leaving and we wish to return soon. read more

I'm Greek- so I'm picky. This place reminded me a lot of the small gyro places we used to have back in the Midwest ( why they are hard to find in california - at least in SoCal blows my mind). Food was great- service was incredible, owner is so kind. I accidentally left my credit card there and he found it, kept it safe and verified my identity to make sure it was in safe hands when I went back! I have been meaning to visit this place many times as Anytime Fitness gym is only a couple of doors away. Im sorry but this place is the worst Mediterranean food Ive ever had in my life. With the price, you get very little bit of meat/food compared to other places. I wouldnt care about the price if the food was delicious but i ended up throwing it away. Meat tastes like its a frozen meat and doesnt taste authentic. I think I would make the meat better than them. Rice was bland, salad was bleh, hummus was disgusting. You can pay same price and get way much more and more delicious meat from other restaurants. Came here for the first time over the weekend during a break from my daughter's softball tournament nearby. We walked in and the place only had one person in front of us and a few people right behind us. The place is clean and service was prompt and courteous. We ordered the lamb beef wrap and the chicken plate. Food came out pretty quick and we took it back to the park. At the park, we dove in to our food. My wrap looked a little on the small side as I opened up the foil wrapper. The meat was flavorful and not dry at all. The veggies were fresh. I was surprised as I finished the wrap that there was not a pool of moisture in the bottom of the foil wrap. Usually the veggies are soaking in liquid and will end up making the last bites soggy. Not this one. It held up perfectly until the last bite. I would give four and a half stars for the wrap. The chicken plate was another story. The portions were pretty big but the chicken was yellow and not seasoned very well. It looked like curry or turmeric but it hardly had any taste of anything. The rice was also off. It was seasoned but I couldn't recognize what it was. The hummus tasted fine but it could have been pureed more. It wasn't very smooth. The salad was tiny and buried under the rice and chicken so it wilted pretty quickly. We didn't even bother trying the pita. We threw most of this away. One star for this plate. My recommendation is to stick to the lamb beef wrap. read more

I was going to write a Google review, but apparently I already gave them a 5 star review a year ago, lol! That's how good they are! I always order the veggie plate, I love their falafel, beef and lamb, Dolmas, hummus, baba ganoush dip, and their RICE! Everything is incredibly tasty, even their rice. Most restaurants serve the most bland rice, mut I feel like I could eat a whole bowl of just their rice. Everything is seasoned perfectly and it's a good price. Not to mention they are always so kind and nice, they're definitely a restaurant I want to support during these times and help stay in business. read more

First visit here. It's kind of hidden so you gotta know where you want to go. Service was great and the Beef Lamb Gyro was amazing. The best I've eaten and I've had gyros in multiple states and all around this area. I got it spicy and love how the cut up the meat and you can actually tAste the lAmb. My only reasons for a 4 and not 5 stars are 1. Not great signage to find it 2. It was pretty costly $14 for a gyro meal 3. They don't carry ranch which is my favorite on fries I'll be be back soon for sure and will bring my wife and little ones. Very happy to have this place so close to RockliN. read more

The basil humus is AMAZING! Greek fries are fantastic- loaded with feta and tzatziki sauce. The falafel have great flavor- some spicy, and not dried out like you often get. I'm so happy to have a good and healthy Greek/Mediterranean option in little old Lincoln! The menu is quite exciting - rather large but not overwhelming. The price points are spot on, too! The prices are affordable and fair for the portions. I had the falafel plate with baba ganoush and my coworker got the beef and lamb gyro. The food was healthy, fresh, and delicious! The falafel had a good crispiness to the outside, though I would like a bit more sauce for dipping. I'll ask for sauce on the side next time. They also had just the perfect amount of heat to them, not too spicy! The baba ganoush was also delicious and well seasoned. The portions were perfect. I ate everything except I only ate half the rice and I am full but not uncomfortable. I would love an option to substitute more salad instead of rice! My coworker's gyro was very good and had a great ratio of meat and sauce. She also felt satisfied and not overly stuffed. The baklava was also delicious! This was our first visit to Express Gyro. We ordered 2 Gyros, falafel, and some baklava. It was outstanding. The gyro meat was so tender and flavorful. The gyros are nice an large. I'm being generous by giving 3 stars. I don't understand the hype around Express Gyro. I've been here a few times and tried the chicken gyro and shwarma. The chicken is definitely not flavored like any other Greek chicken I've had. Here it's almost like a curry powder. And what kind of place doesn't give you a bag for to go orders? This place. If you want a better gyro experience, go to Milos in Rocklin. For the same price, you'll get a bigger, better gyro, plus a salad, for the price of a gyro at this place. read more

I got a gyro combo with a Greek salad. For this combo, you pay almost $6 in addition to the $7.95 for the gyro. I saw a picture of a Greek salad they were advertising in the restaurant that looked delicious. The picture made me want the Greek salad upgrade so I decided to pay the extra. Have you ever gone to the grocery store and bought the bag of pre-shredded iceberg that you might use on tacos? Or, have you seen the bin of shredded lettuce at Subway? That is what your upgraded Greek salad will be. Just throw on some diced tomatoes and olives, feta and there it is. It didn't look anything like the picture. The gyro was alright. So flavorful and fast! We had the falafel gyro, which was amazing. Perfectly crisp and full of spicy flavor. We also had their cilantro hummus, which was a perfect blend of spicy and creaminess. Their veggie wrap was good, but we'll definitely get the falafel again next time. We let them know we needed it to be vegan, so they were more than willing to accommodate us and substituted hummus in the gyro instead of the tzatziki. The front entrance is at an awkward location, but they do have a banner in the breezeway to guide the way. Otherwise, it would've taken a lot longer to find the front door. The whole vibe inside is tastefully done. We wondered if it was a franchise, but we were told that no, this is the only location. That made it even more desirable because that means that they make their food on location. We will definitely be back! We hope that perhaps they can add some grilled veggie options in the future. read more

Literal dog crap tasting food. My usual gyro spot was closed so I figured I'd try something new. This place has no flavor no variety nothing special to their menu. I guess it's cheap and called express gyro for reason. Their baba ganoush tasted like straight up apple sauce. Their pita bread was good but tasted like it was just store bought and their gyro lamb meat and chicken tasted like it wasn't flavored at all. The rice could've been white rice I could make. IT WASNT BASMATI and the salad could've come off the topping of a Taco Bell taco. Sooo, seriously I do not recommend at all. GO TO EDS KABOB instead. So much better and that place can teach you about what flavors actually belong. read more

Had a beef/lamb gyro which was on the freshest pita I have ever had! Meat was well seasoned with lettuce ,tomatoes and red onions and a creamy sauce. It was delicious and very large. Disappointed. I came in at 835/840pm friday night, close at 9pm. I was excited about this place because of all the 5 star reviews, and all the posts on facebook urging people to try this place out. Well at 835 the "kitchen was closed." I couldnt order greek fries with my gyro. All they were serving was gyros, wraps and falafel. Ok you're business closes the kitchen 30 minutes before you close? Probably not a good business practice. A family with a young kid walked in behind us and even asked "what time do you close?" When they were told this. The only businesses I know that kitchen closes they they are open for business are bars. Oh and the female employee asked how to make gyros at 20 minutes to close. Wait, what? I'm blown away, far away. I had the lamb and beef gyro. IT was good, though it did make my stomach a bit achey, and gave me heartburn into the next day. read more
