Had need for a repair of a single bad breaker. Alex recommended 3 options, stating the need for entire panel replacement. Estimates were from over $1000 to about $14000 to do the job. I rejected their recommendation and had the job done by an honest electrician for $175. Everything is fine now except I learned about another company to avoid and recommend everyone be caution about hiring these people. They are not to be trusted. BTW, I paid for the service call. Bathroom fan had a short and needed replacing. Called and scheduled an appointment with no problem. The electrician, Hector, was on time and extremely polite. The amount of Paid reviews from their google business account is ridiculous. I saw this company from Tesla website for wall charger installation. I call them and they refuse to give me a quote and wont tell me their average price they charge per client for electrical wall charger install. They want me to pay $89 for a person to take a look to give me a quote on my panel. What a joke! After searching around I notice the amount of BS reviews ranging from google, facebook, and other social media platforms. The only legit ones i have found for this company is here on Yelp and Angie's list. Keep in mind that NO BUSINESS can ever achieve nearly perfect 5 star reviews especially when you have to dig around to find the negative reviews which every legitimate company should have. I am a business owner myself and the biggest red flag is the amount of suspicious 5 star google reviews vs the rest of the platforms such as yelp and angie list. Do your research and when a company refuses to give you a quote upfront and attempt to charge you just to take a look is a scummy business. During my call with them they refuse to let me take look of their current clients work and kept trying to play it off for me to schedule an appointment just to pay them $89 for inspecting a panel. Our electricity went out Friday 8/20/2021 sometime about 4 AM, so I called the first electrician I came across. George, the electrician, showed up about 9:30 AM on Friday and presented 4 repair options from $15,000 for upgrading to a 200 AMP service from 100, down to about $2800 for the least amount of work. I did not feel like calling another electrician because the kitchen with the refrigerator was out. So, I took the 2ndmost expensive offer for $5800 that I negotiated down to $5500. Yes, it was expensive but I felt I had to get it done. It was a major expense but they have beautiful red and white new Nissan trucks. Yes, they can afford these beauties with the prices they charge. Then today when I looked, I noticed that they had only a 2.5-star rating which is probably higher than they deserve. I must add that George the electrician who showed up did the job he said he would, which entailed the changing the burnt wiring and all the circuit breakers. Express Electrical Services as far as I can tell is licensed so I hope the replacement breakers are at least up to code. He did surprise me by telling me that he changed the main breaker for free for me but usually that is a $2200 additional service. I am still trying to figure out what that extra charge is for when he was supposed to change all the breakers for the $5500. All the breakers means all the breakers. My recommendation is do not call these people, I was way overcharged for the service so I will never call these people again. read more

We live in an old house and during one of the storms last December part of the power in house went out. Our Tech Lamar did an inspection and gave us 3 options but was very honest about the possible outcome of each. Being that we are in a tight budget (like everyone) we opted for the 2nd option. Yes, it was pricey, but we needed peace of mind that our electricity will work especially that I work part time from home. Lamar and another tech came back the next day and fixed the problem. 6 months later, the same issue happened. I was thinking the worse and that we'd have to pay more money and I was even thinking that I'd have to get a 2nd job. I called them on Monday morning, and Lamar came before 930am. I was expecting the worse and he told me that the issue was covered under warranty and no payment was needed. I am extremely appreciative of his service. Lets be honest, no one likes to pay a large amount of money to get services done, but power and water is a necessity that we all need to live. I am very happy with their services. I am grateful for Lamar, but most of all I'm happy that my power is back on. Thank you!!!! read more

Don't ever call this company! What they do is to try to create fear in their customer by making up issues that they say your home has so they can get you to agree to unnecessary, big ticket repairs. I called them to replace a single breaker in my electrical panel, that was it. What happen next was shameful. When the guy arrived from Express Electrical Services, he first examined my electrical panel with a meter, then told me I had "fluctuation in the panel." Then he removed the single wire from the breaker and was touching the other breakers that were working. Then he told me "you have a short circuit." I asked him where the short circuit was, he said he didn't know but that there's a problem somewhere. Then I asked him if the breaker was bad. He said "I'm going to give you some options. Then he went back to his truck for a while, came back and said "here's option #1: replace your electrical panel for $13,000." That's when I stop him and asked again if the breaker was bad, and he still wouldn't answer my question. At that point I was getting angry and repeated the question. That's when he finally told me that "yes, the breaker is bad." Then I ask him to replace it. He told me he couldn't do that because my panel was fluctuating. That's when I finally blew up and told him to put everything back the way it was and that I would pay him his $89 to leave my home. At that point he apologized, because he knew I was angry, and said that he wasn't going to charge me. Then he left. I had another electrician look at my panel. They actually got my existing breaker to work by moving it around. They told me sometimes breakers get loose because they clip on to the panel and the weather expands and contracts them. So, he replaced my old breaker with a new one for.........$150........NOT $13,000. So, don't ever call Express Electrical Services. They want to run up the bill on you for work that is unnecessary. read more

DO NOT use Express Electrical. They employ the dishonest and predatory practices that sully the reputations of so many in the service industry. I had called because a Switch in my house was emitting a buzzing sound and smelled like it was burning. Their electrician arrived the following morning, and instead of looking at the burned breaker in question, he proceeded to go to the fuse box and recommended changing the whole panel despite the fact that I explicitly told him we were not experiencing any other issues. His initial quote was a preposterous $6,000, and when it became clear that wasn't going to happen, he quoted $1500 to replace the burned switch and install a new dimmer, and claimed it would take him 4 hours to complete. Fortunately, I had the good sense to get a second opinion, and another local electrician took care of the entire issue for practically nothing and in under 15 minutes. Avoid this place at all costs, unless you enjoy being taken to the woodshed by a wolf in electrician's clothing. RESPONSE TO OWNER COMMENT: First, I called at 5pm on a Friday, and did note that it was an emergency. I wanted to mitigate any risk of an electrical fire. After being told I would be contacted in half an hour with the details of my service (electrician name, ETA, ETC.), I was instead called an hour later and told that no one would be available until the following morning, 15 hours after my emergency call. So much for 24 hour service. Secondly, the assertion that your preposterous pricing and inefficient turn times are somehow a testament to the value you offer customers is, at once, absurd and insulting. It's not as if I picked up a screw driver-wielding vagrant from some putrid back alley and brought him to my home to perform electrical work. The company was locally owned, reputable, and offered the same peace of mind regarding safety and insurance. The primary distinction between that business and Express Electrical isn't safety standards and community service, but rather that their modus operandi appears to include some semblance of a conscience, whereas Express operates with a level of conscience commensurate with a cold, hard cash register. read more

I don't recommend this company to do any work. I didn't really believe other reviews, until now. My experience was very similar. I guess all their service technicians are trained the same way. I had a problem with my bathroom light switch not working. Tech came by the same day, but late around 6pm. He looked at my bathroom switch, then looked at my outside electrical panel (total time less than 10min), then went back to his truck for almost 30min. Tech came back with 5 options, the highest price quote was $10K to upgrade my electrical panel, and change the wiring, to the lowest price quote of $1500 to spend up to 1.5 hours exploring the cause of my bathroom switch failure. And kept trying to pressure me into signing a contract work, but I refused, saying that's very expensive. He even said they offer no interest monthly payments. The next day, my wife scheduled a local electrical company. They arrived on-time at 10AM, looked at my wall switch, crawled into my attic space, and replace part of my shorted wiring, replaced the bathroom light switch, and installed a bathroom fan timer switch. Total time about 1.5 hrs. My repair bill was $160. Further, my credit statement showed a $179 charge from Express. I called Express, and they said it was a non-refundable service call charge. Rather than argue with Express service lady, I filled a dispute with my credit card company. I provided proof from their website showing a "$49 no obligation service call". They wouldn't give me any kind of a price estimate for changing outlet boxes over the phone, and now I know why. Their quote was literally many hundreds of dollars more than we've paid or been quoted for the same work in the past. I made an appointment for today 1 week ago on wednesday august 12. I did not receive any confirmation calls from them. I called today 1hour before my scheduled appt. The customer service rep assured me they would be there and would be there slightly before the scheduled time. One hour after they were due to be there, I received a call from them cancelling my appt. they said due to emergencies. My problem with this is that I made the appt. 1 week ahead and I called an hour before and they confirmed the appt. They waited until after my scheduled appt time to cancel. Extremely unreliable. I caused some electrical problems doing a home painting project. It wasn't readily apparent what I did so I called for help. When he arrived I explained all I had done and we talked it through. Fine. But the quote to just "troubleshoot", not fix the problems, was over $1200! "This was the company policy, not mine." No thank you, no way. EXPRESS NO WAY !! Very slow none responsive . I had Express coming to work on my house. They were supposed to replace every socket in my house and they did it. But charge me for it. I was told that when I bought my new light fixtures, they would come over and replace them and I believe that they charge me for that and that was supposed to be in the contract. I had them replace my fuse box and they both did it closed. I tried opening it and it sliced my thumb open. I don't know why they both did they closed after they did the work. I have a fan that's outside that just turns on by itself never happened until they did the work, they were very dirty and never cleaned up after themselves. I left a lot of mess. I would've thought they would've vacuum, cleaned it since I have little kids. They left the screws all over the place. I just replaced my carpet they never were shoe covers. I've been trying to get them down here to open my box and fix the problem. It's taking forever when they put the fuse box and they left a big hole in my wall and never covered it. We had plenty of storms that came and left and never did anything until one day a guy came and put a piece of plastic over it. According to them, they couldn't find an inspector. That's why it was left open. Actually a guy said to me that they forgot about it so I would not recommend this company I believe that was overcharged because, they didn't really do know where they didn't pull wires out or nothing out of the wall $25,000 for nothing take my advice is don't use this company read more

Never complained that they advertised appointments same day within 60-90 minutes. Today at 10:00am I get a call from "dispatch" stating the $59 consultation fee is now $399 because I had a handyman install my ceiling fan a year ago. What? I told her that didn't even make sense and their company was deceptive and shady. True bait and switch here, without even coming to the job.
