Right next to the racecourse and on the periphery of the city centre, this Holiday Inn Express is conveniently located. A large free car park for hotel guests was a good bonus too. The whole place was light and airy, and the staff were efficient and friendly. The reception opened out onto a lounge area, that doubled as a bar area in the evening, which was open until 2.00am. To the rear of this area is where we had breakfast which featured a good range of items including danishes, cereals, fruit juice, toast, sausages and scrambled egg, as well as an endless supply of coffee. As standard breakfasts go, it was fairly impressive. The room itself was warm and clean, and well furnished, nothing fancy but as I was only here on stag-do, it didn't matter. I was pleasingly impressed with this Hotel and would definitely use it if I visited Chester again. read more
