Recently visited family in Liverpool and had a three weeks stay at the Crown Plaza. I have stayed at the Crown Plaza on previous visits over the years and was happy to return. The location could not be better, directly at the pier head on the Mersey, dead close to all the happenings; museums, the Beatles experience, very high end and affordable shopping, fantastic restaurants, the town center, and pick up locations for all sightseeing busses and experiences. The rooms are clean and neat with all the amenities needed for a comfortable short term stay, however, with no drawers, cabinets or shelving, not so comfortable for an extended stay. After three weeks of living out of baggage, off the floor, I was ready to go. Best part of the experience by far was the amazing staff! VERY accommodating! Bright smiling friendly faces always looking for ways to be of service! Noteworthy amongst the staff: Frank, the doorman, a fine gentleman always impeccably dressed in top hat and tails, genuine care for the guests experience. At the end of very full days it was great to return "home" to his bright smile and friendly face! Magdalena at the bar in the lounge was the first interaction I had with staff and instantly made me feel at home and comfortable. She greeted me knowing who I was, the length of my stay and insisted that I let her know if there be anything I need over the next three weeks. While insisting the gratuity was unnecessary! Wether it be an early morning cappuccino, a late night pizza or a cranberry and club soda anytime of the day, Magdalena quickly became a safe, comfortable place for me land and connect with a familiar, happy, upbeat friend. THANK YOU Magdalena!
Likewise, Demi-Lee, morning food and beverage manager was stellar! Never did I see a break from her upbeat, happy domineer! It was such pleasure to see her every morning at breakfast! Traveling with my Liverpool born mother (with parkinson disease) who was celebrating her eightieth birthday durring our stay (it was actual the purpose of our trip), not only did Demi look out for her EVERY morning, sometimes surprising her by delivering her tea personally to her room when she was unable to make it to the dining room, Demi, while we were at breakfast on Mum's actual birthday, delivered balloons and her favorite scone with strawberry and clotted cream to her room with a lovely card of birthday wishes. So much did they become like family to us, I invited both Frank and Demi-Lee to Mum's surprise 80th birthday celebration at the Albert Docks! Thank you to Frank, Magdalena and Demi-Lee for making Mum's 80th birthday celebration trip to her home land a MOST successful and enjoyable experience! Till next time Crown Plaza! We hope to return again real soon! XOXO! read more
