Came in for a root canal to 43 Warren Street location but unfortunately my tooth had too much decay to save it. They suggested I have it extracted and an implant. However, the cost of the implant with grafting was just too expensive for my budget and they totally understood that. It has one of the nicest front office dental areas ever that I have been in! Dr Rita pulled pulled my tooth without any pain and it is healing nicely now. It is in the way back top of my mouth and does not affect my smile. Shoutout to all the very friendly and nice staff that work there! Jasmine made my initial appointment, Shreena and Carol were also very personable and nice. Last but not least a super big shoutout to Zaida! I got to see and visit with her 3 different days a bit, she was a gem and such a nice person who genuinely cared about me! Expert Dental NYC at the Tribeca office has been a pleasure to attend since May of 2024. I came in hot and heavy with a mouthful of issues and questions. From the beginning I was impressed with the amount of modern tech, scheduling and organization within the treatment and payment plan. Thankfully they accept Care Credit and were willing to work with me and set up payment plans based on my needs. The scheduling process was easy, and I received plenty of calendar and reminders for my appointments which was helpful. The treatment plan was laid out and printed out for me clearly. I also had the chance to have these emailed to me when needed. Heather was incredibly clear and diligent with processing my dental claims and making sure everything was covered by my plan. She made sure to bill and process everything thoroughly and make sure that I saw the correct provider that worked best with my plan. Each location has various providers and hygienists that are in and out of network, she made sure I was seeing who was in network with me. Amber was the best dental hygienist that I had while here. I had the pleasure of using 2, but I feel her patience with me and her extensive teeth cleaning really helped my gums. She was patient with answering my questions and suggested what I should be doing to my gums and how I should be brushing better. She was also helpful in looking into the correct type of electronic toothbrush. I will request her for my next cleaning. Dr. Ma covered some of my dental care, along with taking care of some of the cavities. I feel she was very nice, gentle and answered any questions that I may have had. ABSOLUTE SCAM! Lied about cavities in an illegal and unethical attempt to upsell me. BEWARE! Short version: I went to this dentist for a routine cleaning and they said I had 6 cavities. They told me to schedule an appointment for 6 fillings, over $500 out of pocket. I did not like my experience at this dentist (for reasons I will explain below) so I decided to get the fillings at another dentist. When I went in, they had two dentists look at my teeth to confirm that I in fact HAD ZERO CAVITIES. Very grateful I got a second opinion and did not consent for them to drill random holes into my teeth. If you are looking for a dentist in this area DO NOT GO HERE. I had a much much better experience at Tribeca Dental Design a block away on Murray St, more details below... Full version: As soon as I sat down they started putting tools in my mouth without explaining what they were doing. They spent 15 minutes taking my X-ray and it was a very painful process, frequently shoving the tool deep into my mouth and positioning it so that it cut up my gums. Very unpleasant. When I went to a different dentist, they used the same machine to get an X-ray in about 2 minutes and completely painlessly. After the X-ray they did a standard cleaning which was fine. After the cleaning the dentist came in and said from the X-rays alone she could tell that I had some cavities and that this was concerning because you can usually only see cavities in X-rays if they are extreme. After a thorough check, she determined that I had 6 cavities, 2 of which were so large that they likely needed a root canal. Before I left they had me sit down with the 'treatment plan specialist' who insisted I scheduled 2 sessions to do the 6 fillings. In total it would have been over $500 out of pocket (and thousands of dollars through insurance). They were confident and persuasive, I thought I needed fillings right away to avoid the root canals they believed were likely necessary. It would have been expensive and PAINFUL had I listened to them. Fortunately, I decided to cancel my appointment for fillings with Expert Dental and made an appointment with Tribeca Dental Design. I called Expert Dental and asked them to send my X-rays to the new dentists and they basically said no--said it would take 7-10 business days. So when I went to TDD I was shocked to discover that the X-ray was COMPLETELY PAINLESS and only took 2 minutes, despite that they used the exact same device that was extremely painful at Expert Dental and took 5-10x as long. Then the dentist came in looked at my teeth, and said 'Huh, I don't see any cavities, let me get my colleague to take a look." A second dentist came and confirmed that I had NOT EVEN ONE CAVITY. They sent me home with no copay (they very kindly waved the X-ray fee) and I avoided an extremely expensive and painful yet COMPLETELY UNNESSISARY PROCEDURE. If you are looking for a dentist in this area, do not go here. Go to Tribeca Dental Design. To clarify, (because I know this may seem bias) I am in no way affiliated with them, but I do feel very grateful to them as they could have easily gone along with the fictitious 6 cavities and made a good chunk of money off of me. Instead they prioritized ethical practice over upselling me and sent me home without charging me a penny. I really wanted to go back to Expert Dental and ask the Dentist why she would tell me I needed fillings when I don't. I was pretty upset about the idea of them drilling holes into my teeth and potentially even sending me for a root canal (which I have heard can be extremely painful) when it was not necessary. I figured it would be more effective to express my discontent here where hopefully other people will see it and know to avoid THE ABSOLUTE SCAM THAT IS EXPERT DENTAL. read more

I would not recommend this dentist. They told me that four of my cavities needed to be completely redone and that I required a root canal. I agreed to have one cavity redone, but since the procedure, that tooth has never felt the same. Cash grab.. pushy doctors. I received a second opinion today on the procedures this office wanted to perform, I am so happy I didn't move forward with them!! Saving myself $$$. I had two wisdom teeth pulled with them and the up-charging/services that were added to my bill and demanded to be paid in full by this overbearing hygienist and dr were outlandish MOMENTS before I went under anesthesia. Thousands of dollars on top of my original quote, and I felt like I had no choice but to move forward with the added services as my Dr told me it was a non-negotiable. Beware of this business practice's ethics. I saw a dentist here and she diagnosed cavities falsely (they were food stains, I got a second opinion from a dentist I've had for 20 years). This business seems glossy and professional from the outside, but they are the type of glitzy new age practice that does procedures to run up the insurance bill and make more money (oh, and she overcharged the insurance company for the filling... insurance fraud). I'd advise seeing a different dentist that isn't financially predatory, but if you MUST, then get a second opinion before you do anything here. Unfortunately, I was only able to get the second opinion AFTER I had two cavities filled by Dr. Lauren Choi. That was one month ago, and I STILL cannot chew on the side of my mouth I had the two fillings on without pain. Not only did I not need this procedure in the first place, I am still experiencing harm. I will be escalating this to the Better Business Bureau (amongst other things), but I didn't want this to happen to someone else. Hello - I believe it was Elizabeth Park that did my checkup and cleaning. I went in February 2026 and they told me I had a deep cavity under a filling and that it also might be close to the nerve so I should see an endodontist. They also said its probably a good idea to see someone for getting my 2 other wisdom teeth out. And guess what, they have all type of doctors and imagining you'd need in house! Great, right?! That was a big red flag for me. (Watch congressional hearings on Aetna!!! This is immediately what came to mind for me!) I explained that I went to the dentist a little less than a year ago and they said nothing about a cavity under a filling and I also got 2 of my 4 wisdoms removed recently, so this all was very interesting to me. There was not a good explanation for why it would be drastically different so soon. She couldn't even point directly to the "cavity" on the xray. I ended up with 2 follow up appointments, but I went home and found all these other nightmare reviews online and it just did not feel right. I cancelled all follow ups and went to Sky Dental to get a second opinion. Sky said I had no cavities and my filling was in great. BEWARE OF EXPERT DENTAL!!!!! I am a big advocate for trusting in professions, but just because any professional tells you something does not mean you blindly trust anyone. You have a brain and google for a reason! Dr. Eugene Park at Tribeca location did an absolutely wonderful job, identifying a missed canal that had caused me pain and lingering infection for three years! Prompt, efficient, extremely skillful, he delivered a painless retreatment that much older doctors had refused or had failed to retreat. Dr. Lauren Choi told me I had 8 cavities, which surprised me as I have good oral hygiene. Seeking confirmation, I saw Dr. Erik Stump, who agreed with the diagnosis. I am explained multiple times how I was unable to afford the full $3,000 estimate, so I paid $500 for three fillings and planned to address the rest later. However, after a friend urged me to get a second opinion, another dentist revealed I had no cavities at all. I realized I had been scammed.
