I gave holly a reference, telling her to just trim my sides and back, keeping it long. But she just instantly cut my curtainy middle part into short choppy bangs and took all my length and volume. Genuinely not even close to my reference. She was also in such a rush she knicked me about 5 times attempting to give me a fade. While debulking she was also such a rush it kept pulling my hair. Very poor service. Charged me 25 dollars for a kids haircut without disclosing it at the beginning. They only care about cutting hair as fast as they can to make more money. worst haircut i have ever gotten in my life, i went in with SHOULDER LENGTH HAIR and walked out with a PIXIE CUT, all i asked for was a simple trim. I literally cried, the lady that cut my hair was the younger one with long hair. She sped through my haircut while she chewed gum with her mouth open, smacking in my ear, i spent about 5 minutes in that chair, long enough for her to butcher my hair and then try to style it like i was a 50 year old woman in the 40's (i'm 26) all beehive styled. it was awful and i will not recommend to anyone ever! it's going to take at least a half a year to grow my hair back out to where i don't feel ugly, ruined my hair and my confidence, screw this place for real. worst hair salon ever! i wish i could give them negative 5 star read more

Saturday night was the best time to come here, as most of the other men's places we're already closed before 6 PM. However, there was absolutely no waiting, and I got the perfect haircut in under 15 minutes. All of the ladies here we're extremely friendly, I didn't try to upsell me on anything I didn't need. Though I am only in Plano for a short time, I look forward to coming back here for my future haircut. This is a hard review because for $13 what can you expect. I typically prefer to go to Floyd's but I'm always looking to see if there is another option. Once you get in you have to sign in on this sheet of paper and wait. I went on a Friday afternoon and it wasn't too bad of a wait as they cut quickly. I think I only had to wait 15 minutes. All of the workers were really nice and overall my haircut wasn't too bad but when I got home I could see a couple places where she missed with the clippers. Would I come back....maybe since the price is really good and you can't really beat the price but at the same time I see a difference with the quality I get from Floyds. read more

After getting my hair cut here for the past few years, I can't believe I haven't reviewed it yet! The stylists at Expert Clip have almost always done an excellent job and are consistent in what they deliver. Mai, the owner, is delightful and accommodating and always gives me just what I ask for. The other ladies are great too, but I've had the best luck with her. They also provide facial waxing services which are great as well. My daughter joins me now too and as you can see from my check in photo, they do a great job on kids hair as well! All this is well enough, but I haven't even gotten to the best part yet- after my daughter and I get both our hair cut and my eyebrow waxing, we're out of there for about 50.00 after the tip! Don't let the long wait deter you- its popular for a reason and the wait isn't really as long as you may think. My ex husband found them probably 5 or 6 yrs ago - cheap place to get a great men's cut/buzz. Very handsome he looks! Then we brought our toddler...tired of paying WAY. TOO. MUCH for kids' cuts places. (Those places are a total ripoff) The clincher was when I finally let Mya cut MY hair. I had let it grow out and she gave me the PERFECT trim. She's been cutting my hair ever since. She cut it short for me this year and I LOVE IT. She still does our whole family. I love the walk-in convenience and the price??? Holy shit...I give her a bigger tip because I feel like I'm robbing her! AND she does my eyebrows. My son is 6.5 now and gets his hair cut by her like it's NBD. Updating review after the recent changes. I have been coming here for years, and it was great, but started seeing some changes. Over time, really good hair dressers would leave and new ones would join, but today I learned that Sunny left and possibly the others. There was a gentleman who appeared to be the owner Maya's husband commented negatively about asking what happened to a lady hair dresser who was there, and he said to go some place else if I don't like it here, so I left. I like Maya and she wasn't there, but not sure if I will come back anymore after the guy made that comment. read more

I used to visit the computer store that was in this location. Not familiar with the name, but found out from the owner it is her store. She told me that unlike most branded hair places little goes towards the stylists who cut your hair. I used to go to another chain haircut place and was happy with the person who cut my hair. Just not happy for the price. When I first started coming here about a year and half ago, the owner cut my hair. She used to cut hair near Fort Hood, and familiar with military styles. I retired from the Army in 96, but still like a number 3 cut on the sides and on top. She did a wonderful job! When you return they remember what you liked. I had one of the newer stylists cut my hair a few months ago, and she too did a great job. Today I had Jecica cut my hair. I am 3 for 3. Three great stylists who take their time to give you a great haircut. I love their attention to detail, making sure my sideburns are even, using the hair blower on a cool setting, etc. They really take care of you and you are not just a number. The price is right, $8.99! Leave a nice tip and you will still come out ahead. Enjoy a complementary ice water and watch tv. read more

Worst hair cut of my life! Went in with hair almost reaching my lower back, and asked for a simple trim, and came out with hair barely under my ears. The older lady who cut my hair had trouble getting the length even on both sides, and kept on cutting my hair to make it even. I saw the good reviews and thought I would try this place since I just needed my hair trimmed and didn't want to spend $50+ for a trim. Well I'm not sure who I had but I was very disappointed. I've had way better haircuts for only $10 more. She cut my hair and kept saying she was just getting an idea of the length I wanted. Well she cut all around and (with my hair still wet) asked if I needed anything else. She cut the top layers of my hair but not the bottom so now I have shorter hair thank the bottom section and it looks awful. Even though it was cheaper I have to get my hair fixed now so it's really not worth it. Sweet lady but she either didn't know what she was doing or didn't care. read more

A good haircut experience for a decent price. This location is located in a very diverse area, so you will see all types of people at the shop. The interior is unique, with different music albums on the wall in a mural. Other perks include a 20-25 person waiting room, as well as free keurig, candy and water. The system for checking in is very flawed as you sign in on a blank piece of white paper, circle your name if you leave and you come back (since it gets busy), and then put a check mark if you come back in. Hard to gauge how long you'll have to wait and what stylist you'll get unless you request one. Also no way to check in online. Mens haircut was I believe $15 or so, and there's a dollar discount if you happen to have cash. The haircut itself turned out well and he spend about 30 minutes working on it which I appreciate. Seems to vary though since I saw other stylists doing haircuts in 10-15 minutes, going a lot faster. All in all, decent cut for decent price. read more

I searched on Yelp for a good hair salon because my luck previously has been TERRIBLE. I found Expert Clip and they had amazing reviews! I stopped by and the line looked like it was going to be forever but they assured me the wait would be only about 10 minutes and she was right! It seems at first like it's mainly a place for men's cuts, but they do also do women's cuts. I was definitely happy with the cut and the price. $16 is definitely better than what I've paid in the past. It's a small salon, looks like a simple joint, but don't get discouraged or let it fool you. My husband is now even thinking about going there for his next cut and he's pickier than I am!!
