Hands down 5/5 experience! My wife and I were introduced to Kathy through a mutual friend. We went with her month-of coordination package. It includes 3 meetings which begins 1 month before the wedding date, 1 site visit + rehearsal (we didn't need this), 2 team members for the day of, 9 hours of day-of service and of course the schedule. When we met with Kathy, we knew she was the right person for us. She took time to get to know us, who we are and what we wanted for our wedding. She genuinely enjoyed all of the little ideas and helped make it come to life. The sheet that she made for us was really detailed from vendors to the entire schedule. When my partner and I were finally ready to begin the process of putting together our wedding, we dreaded every bit of it and it was just a cloud hanging over our heads for several months. We knew we wanted to first lock in our venue, our photographer, and then immediately our wedding planner. It instantly provided us some ease and let us know that we have a professional on our side to help us get through this daunting process. Kathy took some initial time to get to know our personalities, our vision, our goals, and then provided us with many useful templates, created a mood board for us, put together a budget plan, set timeline expectations, etc. Kathy also began reaching out to tons of vendors for us. Our venue (Kohl Mansion) didn't come with any vendors so we had to source everyone, from catering, bartending, DJ, rentals, florist, dessert, etc. We ended up going with many of the vendors that Kathy introduced us to and we loved every single one of them! Our venue coordinators were super impressed with every vendor and even wanted to add some of them to their preferred vendor list. Along the process, Kathy spent so many hours chatting with us, dealt with our indecisiveness at times, and guided us through it all with a ton of patience and professionalism. Leading up to the the big day, we had our schedule fully planned out and we felt extremely ready! The evening couldn't have gone any smoother. We didn't think it would be an easy event since Kohl Mansion has so many different spaces and we wanted to activate all of them for our guests. Each part of the event took place in a different room of the mansion, but Kathy and team were incredibly on top of everything. Things were arranged and ready to go as the time arrived for it, so we stayed pretty true to our schedule for the whole evening! The entire set up and breakdown were done so well and efficiently, we didn't need to be involved at all which was just amazing. Our guests had a wonderful time and we received so many comments with how beautiful the decor and the tables looked. Little delayed, but my friend had a birthday at the San Jose Rose Garden in April and had a super cute picnic setup by the amazing sisters at Experiences By K. They thought through every detail from the beautiful cake to the color scheme of the pillows, flowers, and tableware to the mini tent and umbrella. Our setup was for 8 people, but I've seen smaller and larger setups on their website. This was such a fun experience and a great way to welcome us to the spring season. I first met her at my sister's wedding and knew I needed to book her for my wedding too. During our wedding planning process, one of the most important recommendations from our friends was to get a day of coordinator and so we began our search for one. My husband and I reached out to a few before we found Kathy. Surprisingly, she was highly recommended on a Facebook page of vendors some of the members on that page used for their special day. From our first email, I could already tell Kathy was very organized and easy to work with. After our Zoom meeting, we both knew she was the one we want to hire because of her upbeat personality and her problem solving skills, not to mention her rates are very reasonable with the hours of service she provided and she donates to charity (this is something that is very hard to come by in a vendor nowadays). Our day of coordination was really a month of coordination. Kathy was very responsive throughout the year prior to our wedding and was very in the loop the month before. Her spreadsheets on Excel were super detailed and organized and she reached out to our vendors a month prior to introduce herself and made sure all the loose ends are tied before the big day. On the day of the rehearsal, Kathy wasn't able to make it (she was the day of coordinator at another wedding, yes, she is very popular!!) but she sent her assistant, Becky who was also very professional and communicated well with our wedding hostess at the church. They kept our wedding party on schedule for the ceremony. After the ceremony was over, they went straight to our reception venue to help with setup and coordination. As a type-A bride, I really thought I could do it all myself. See, the issue wasn't could I do it, but rather should I do it? Brides, believe me when I say that Kathy is worth every penny you spend on her. I know when you're looking through your budget, you think to yourself, "I don't need a coordinator." But you do, you really do. Let's set the scene to a week before my wedding. I was finishing up all the last minute details and then suddenly, my power goes out. I kid you not - I wish I was making this up - my house has no power, no internet, nothing. But you have a wedding that's still rapidly approaching, so what do you do? Enter the angel that is: Kathy. When I say that Kathy came through for me, she really came through. All of my wedding decor was still in boxes. My family members were asking: what do we do the day of the wedding? What time? The questions were endless. And they never EVER ask the groom. Only the bride. Kathy took over everything. She managed the rehearsal, she decorated my venue space, she answered EVERYONE'S questions. We went on the search for a day of coordinator for a celebration of life just 1 week before the date of the event. Due to the nature of the passing of one of our beloved family members, it couldn't be planned far in advance and luckily Kathy had a rare open weekend. Kathy has incredible attention to detail, and made sure that everything at our contracted park in Milpitas was on point by the time we arrived. We needed her to take care of the supervision and setup, so we could attend the funeral before the celebration at this park. I had chosen the "moments together" picnic and I pretty much added on everything from the bento, charcuterie board, Polaroid and also the flowers. There were simply so many choices that you're afraid one little detail can ruin the day (which it probably won't!). I have been following Kathy's IG account since the beginning and have loved all of the picnics and events that she has done. I finally got the chance to book her services for my engagement party! I reached out to her and she got back to me in a timely manner. We had a call to discuss what I wanted and she put together a whole document with her ideas and the different options that I could pick out. Wedding planning is no joke if anyone has gone through the process or is planning one. There's a million decisions and logistics that need to planned out. When we were going through the rabbit hole of planning our wedding, I immediately thought of Kathy. I had previously worked with her at Project by Project, a local nonprofit that throws a fundraiser gala each year. At PbP she coordinated an event with hundreds of vendors and made a bare space look fabulous and I thought to myself if anyone can plan an event, it's Kathy. Kathy went above and beyond for my baby shower picnic. She helped me plan my baby shower picnic to each of the details, she gave me lots of locations recommendations and ideas. At the day of the event, I didn't have to worry about anything because she handled the entire thing! The picnic was perfect, all of the decors were so cute. Also the fresh floral buttercream cake in pandan flavor was soooo good and delicious. I could've ate two of those all by myself. I had the pleasure of working initially with Kathy through her picnic business so that I could surprise my fiance with a Birthday/Christmas Picnic together during peak COVID. As I've heard several stories of at this point of how stressful weddings can be, how many fires can pop up the day of, and how busy the Bride and Groom we decided to get a Wedding Coordinator and Kathy was kind enough to take us on as her clients! Working with Kathy helped make the wedding day go as smoothly as it possibly could have all things considered. We certainly didn't make her job easy either as we had a ceremony in one location up in the mountains and the reception at another location 45 minutes away. Given the 2 locations, I have to imagine there is more complexity that Kathy was able to manage to perfection. Once we signed on with her, she was always on-time to meetings, detail oriented, answered our questions as they came, knew the right questions to ask and most importantly made the recommendations necessary when we had no idea what we were doing. During the actual days of the rehearsal and wedding, she was an absolute rockstar and kept us organized throughout the day and managed the communication with the vendors. One thing I noticed is that there were a few surprise changes needed to be made and she was able to roll with the punches quite well. Really great at adapting to various wedding situations! Having gotten to work with Kathy throughout the wedding process put our stressed out selves more at ease on the big day.
