Little delayed, but my friend had a birthday at the San Jose Rose Garden in April and had a super cute picnic setup by the amazing sisters at Experiences By K. They thought through every detail from the beautiful cake to the color scheme of the pillows, flowers, and tableware to the mini tent and umbrella. Our setup was for 8 people, but I've seen smaller and larger setups on their website. This was such a fun experience and a great way to welcome us to the spring season. Would highly recommend this business! Check out their website as they do a lot of amazing experiences outside of picnics.

Our wedding coordinator did an amazing job decorating our 3 tier wedding cake!

During our wedding planning process, one of the most important recommendations from our friends was to get a day of coordinator and so we began our search for one. My husband and I reached out to a few before we found Kathy. Surprisingly, she was highly recommended on a Facebook page of vendors some of the members on that page used for their special day. From our first email, I could already tell Kathy was very organized and easy to work with. After our Zoom meeting, we both knew she was the one we want to hire because of her upbeat personality and her problem solving skills, not to mention her rates are very reasonable with the hours of service she provided and she donates to charity (this is something that is very hard to come by in a vendor nowadays). Our day of coordination was really a month of coordination. Kathy was very responsive throughout the year prior to our wedding and was very in the loop the month before. Her spreadsheets on Excel were super detailed and organized and she reached out to our vendors a month prior to introduce herself and made sure all the loose ends are tied before the big day. On the day of the rehearsal, Kathy wasn't able to make it (she was the day of coordinator at another wedding, yes, she is very popular!!) but she sent her assistant, Becky who was also very professional and communicated well with our wedding hostess at the church. When our wedding day arrived, Kathy and Becky were phenomenal! They were at the church on time and made sure things went as smoothly as possible for us! They kept our wedding party on schedule for the ceremony. After the ceremony was over, they went straight to our reception venue to help with setup and coordination. Kathy and Becky communicated very well with each of our vendors on our wedding day which my husband and I are very grateful for and appreciative of. They were able to set up a nice corner for us to hold the tea ceremony with our close family members and Kathy decorated our wedding cake with her amazing design skills. Who needs a florist when your day of coordinator is such an expert at making your cake as beautiful as it can be. When our reception ran behind schedule, Kathy and our Emcee Johnny was able to come up with the best solution possible so that we were able to get the pictures we wanted without compromising time. At the end of the event, Kathy and Becky helped with cleaning up and packing up all the items we brought to the venue and made sure nothing is forgotten. My husband thought his wine bottle opener would be lost after the event since it was hectic but we found it in the box just as we left it at the beginning of the day. I'm so happy we found Kathy and got to work with her and her team for our wedding. Brides to be, if you are in search of a wedding coordinator, do not look elsewhere. Kathy is the one to go with and she is popular!! From her reviews, she doesn't just coordinate weddings but all kinds of social events and she has the skills to do an amazing job!

Donut bar set up! I had no decor for this, but Kathy understood the assignment.

As a type-A bride, I really thought I could do it all myself. See, the issue wasn't could I do it, but rather should I do it? Brides, believe me when I say that Kathy is worth every penny you spend on her. I know when you're looking through your budget, you think to yourself, "I don't need a coordinator." But you do, you really do. Let's set the scene to a week before my wedding. I was finishing up all the last minute details and then suddenly, my power goes out. I kid you not - I wish I was making this up - my house has no power, no internet, nothing. But you have a wedding that's still rapidly approaching, so what do you do? Enter the angel that is: Kathy. When I say that Kathy came through for me, she really came through. All of my wedding decor was still in boxes. My family members were asking: what do we do the day of the wedding? What time? The questions were endless. And they never EVER ask the groom. Only the bride. Kathy took over everything. She managed the rehearsal, she decorated my venue space, she answered EVERYONE'S questions. And for me, she asked all the questions I never even considered! If I didn't have Kathy to prepare me for every little thing, I would have truly been in a panic all day. She was so organized, and truly handled it like a pro - because she is a pro. She's always so calm and collected, throughout all of the wedding chaos. As my day of coordinator, her primary focus was making sure the day went smoothly. Again, as a type-A bride, I had felt the need to be in charge of everything. She tied all those loose ends for me, wrangling all the vendors, making sure they knew exactly where to go and when to be there. Her suggestions made me realize that if I continued to plan it all myself, I would've forgotten so many details! No one tells you that planning a wedding itself is a full time job. I hired Kathy about 6 months before my wedding, and she quickly relieved so many of my fears and hesitations of hiring a wedding coordinator. Even my then-fiancé quickly agreed, "we need to hire her." A month prior to the wedding, she will start having more frequent meetings to make sure everything is on track, and she will take over email correspondence of your vendors, so you can focus on the fun parts of wedding planning! The day before the wedding, she directed all my friends and family in our dress rehearsal, and made sure everyone knew exactly where to go. A personal favorite: she made sure everyone's positioning was symmetrical. The attention to detail was immaculate. Day of the wedding rolls around, and like I said: I was scrambling because the blackout lasted for THREE DAYS. There were so many last minute details I wanted to implement, and I never had the time. She told me she got it, and she nailed it. Everything looked amazing. Kathy put up with so much to coordinate my wedding. I would text her in the middle of the night (I had mild insomnia), and she noted every last detail. With her, I just threw caution to the wind, and everything was flawless. I'm so glad she does more than weddings too! I will definitely reconnect with her soon for my next birthday party, or picnic! All of my Bay Area friends have already been informed: Kathy is the best. No contest.

Boho chic picnic with extra add ons! Worth itttt

Planned the cutest spring picnic at a Rose Garden. Set up was already ready when I got there, the colors and flower arrangements were perfect, and the extra add ons were worth it!! Everyone enjoyed the set up, food and scenery. 10/10 worth the experience and definitely planning to use them again!

I had done a picnic through kathy for our engagement session and it was not only easy but really pretty & aesthetic! I had chosen the "moments together" picnic and I pretty much added on everything from the bento, charcuterie board, Polaroid and also the flowers. My fiance and I were blown away when we saw the setup in Crissy fields. Everything was really amazing! We loved the charcuterie board and the bento for the food! Our photos from the photo shoot came out really great as well! If you are looking for a great picnic experience and someone who does amazing work, Kathy is the one for you! We can't wait to book another picnic with her!

The cutest little industrial eclectic set up!

TL;DR - Kathy's cheery disposition makes her amazing to work with! Kathy has the sweetest, most genuine personality. This makes her so easy to work with especially when my particular vision wasn't a package she already offered. On her site, you can see a few packages - including Harry Potter and Studio Ghibli! I wanted a mix between her packages for the engagement shoot we were doing, so we set up a call. Kathy understood where my vision was coming from and recreate it! We also gave her a bit of a headache because we did our shoot at 7:30am (but ran late and didn't meet up with her until 8:15am)! But when we arrived, it was perfect! Our shoot looked fantastic, and we even had a stranger's dog join us! How adorable. I thought her packaging was the most reasonable of other similar businesses, and the fact that she donates 5% to a charity of choice made it obvious for me to go with Experiences by K.

Kathy was our wedding planner for our 2021 wedding, and she was so, so excellent! For some, planning every single detail about the big day can be rewarding, but it gave us so much stress. There were simply so many choices that you're afraid one little detail can ruin the day (which it probably won't!). Once we had Kathy on board as our planner (beginning/sorta midway through planning), she quickly assessed what we still needed, created a timeline, and gave us tasks/due dates to be mindful of (e.g.: deposit due for hair/makeup, decide on cake flavors, etc.). We shared a google sheet/folder (which she created), so we could see the progress made week by week and easily access relevant documents. She simplified and organized the entire process so we could enjoy the experience instead of stressing. You can be as involved as you want or more laid back by simply giving Kathy a vision to make come true. On the day of, Kathy and her team coordinated with our other vendors (e.g. arranging for hair/makeup to come, picking up food/signage/decorations, communicating with photography and venue staff), helped set up the venue, welcomed guests and bussed them from one venue area to another. As a couple, we really just had to show up, say our vows, and be merry with our friends and family! Overall we really loved working with Kathy, as she is such a friendly, easy going, and patient person who will entertain all your ideas, realistically breakdown what will be needed to make your vision happen, and be there to support you on your wedding day. She has an eye for detail and beauty and is very well connected to other vendors too. For example, we absolutely adored our lychee wedding cake by Pan-ya which she introduced us to! We are extremely pleased and happy with her service and would recommend her to anyone feeling a bit overwhelmed by the wedding process or just needing another helper to make their wedding dreams a reality.

Simple picnic, sunny so they included an umbrella!

This picnic experience was well thought out and we enjoyed every bit of it. The food was so delicious and Kathy even made me vegetarian Pokémon pokeball onigiri! It was so good the set up was absolutely perfect and the best way to celebrate our 7 year anniversary. Kathy let us keep the flowers and packed our left over food for us the Happy Anniversary sign was a big plus! From BF: "I like the cheese." In terms of booking, I was surprised at how professional the interaction was and worth the experience 10/10 would do this again! If you want to have a super lovely picnic without any of the planning and clean up, I highly recommend Experiences by K!

I have been following Kathy's IG account since the beginning and have loved all of the picnics and events that she has done. I finally got the chance to book her services for my engagement party! I reached out to her and she got back to me in a timely manner. We had a call to discuss what I wanted and she put together a whole document with her ideas and the different options that I could pick out. We went back and forth a lot and she was very responsive and respectful during the entire process. She really took our asks and opinions into careful consideration and she ultimately helped us pick out the perfect options for decorations and desserts! On the day of the event, Kathy and her team went early to set up and worked so efficiently. It turned out absolutely BEAUTIFUL. My fiancé and I couldn't believe that this venue was for us! All of our guests commented how amazing all of the decorations were and they also loved the dessert table and all of the dessert vendors that Kathy works with. Another huge hit was the balloon arch backdrop that Kathy and her vendor set up. We were unsure of the venue table setup before the event, but Kathy was gracious enough to make more centerpieces at the last minute for us! And at the end of the event, her team cleaned everything up so quickly and packaged everything up for us. They all went above and beyond and for that, we are so so grateful. Kathy and her team made our special day so smooth, worry-free, and hassle-free. They really took care of everything and even coordinated with our venue coordinator on our behalf. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I can't wait until I can work with Kathy and her team again!

Build your own Harry Potter themed cocktail!
    Tiffany S.

Our wedding got postponed due to COVID and our bride tribe and groomsmen surprised us with a Harry Potter themed picnic on what would have been our wedding day! The experience was beautiful. Kathy thought through and executed the theme so well: from mixing "potions" to make your own Harry Potter themed cocktails, to providing Harry Potter themed scarves, glasses, etc! To top off the experience, 5% of your booking goes to a charity of your choice!

I really enjoyed my picnic experience booking with Kathy! It was very well decorated and from the moment that I arrived I felt that she took care of us. She thought out the details and really made the experience special for the occasion. I loved her charcuterie plate that she provided us and the wine was a nice touch! As we were wrapping up, she gave us the flowers as a gift and definitely got us on our way to continue celebrating for the evening. Thank you so much Experiences by K! If you are looking for a creative picnic experience, highly recommend booking with her!

Kathy gave me the wedding of my dreams. I wanted a boho beach ceremony with an intimate picnic for our guests and she far-exceeded my hopes. I've been following her for a while on IG looking at all the dreamy romantic setups, but wasn't sure if she could do a picnic for 25 people. She was so easy to talk to, captured my vision better than I could describe it, and chose the perfect charcuterie vendor (Enjoy Your Treat) and my favorite macaron baker (Always Yours Bakery Cafe) to perfectly complement the beautiful pillows, place settings, and of course that perfect tepee. And all of it was within our modest budget. I really hope to work with Kathy again for a future event. (Photos by Labra Photography)

However, a few months before the wedding I was so overwhelmed with all the detail that Brenda offered to meet and she just helped me organized my priorities and made me feel really good about the progress I had made. She did the same 6 weeks later. OMG, so helpful to keep me going and manage the overwhelm. As the date grew nearer, she started leading more to ensure we took care of those horrible details (seating charts, signage, communication with vendors, table set ups, and the timeline, etc). At every moment she was calm, lovely, relatable, fun, reassuring, and extremely competent. The week before the wedding she came over and took ownership of all the "stuff" (candles, ceremony items, decorations, etc). That felt sooo good. She was great at the rehearsal and made sure "all the cats were herded"so we got through the rehearsal and worked out all the details. The day of the wedding? We were so relaxed and didn't think about a single thing. The tables were set exactly as we had discussed, the ambiance was amazing, every little detail she had taken care of. and then she cleaned up and stored everything for us and then brought it back to us a couple of days later. During the wedding, Brenda was a total ninja....I barely saw her at the wedding as she was in the background making it all happen so we could enjoy our guests. A guest even took a picture of her that makes her look like the super hero she is, LOL! You will LOVE working with Brenda. I cannot recommend her more vigorously. She is amazing.

Being based in Seattle and planning an Indian wedding with fusion multicultural elements in Los Angeles, reaching out to a Bay Area based wedding planning team felt like a leap of faith, but we couldn't have made a better decision. We began working with Behl 10 months before our August 2025 wedding, and Anjali's expertise immediately shifted wedding planning from utter chaos into organized process. The relief I felt after our first meeting was palpable, and my confidence in the team only grew as we saw the depth of knowledge and organization they would provide. Anjali made the planning process so seamless as she helped us put words to our ideas, guided us through vendor selection (with an incredible database full of vetted selections), and kept our planning timeline on track. While I was (literally) having nightmares about absurdly high decor quotes, Anjali was already prepared with a backup plan with different vendors and idea adjustments. We chose the partial planning package, but even our vendor communication felt well-supported through regular check-in meetings where she answered any and all of our questions. As our wedding went from fleeting ideas to a concrete concept, we were introduced to Risha. Her attention to detail and promptness were so crucial (and so so appreciated) as the chaos of the wedding day loomed closer. Risha took over all the vendor communication several weeks before the wedding and became an invaluable resource to us as we had last minute thoughts and touches for our day. What really stood out to us about the planning process was how both Risha and Anjali were so proactive with the fine details! Whether it be about how the timeline should be adjusted to include a snack break inbetween baraat and ceremony or how we could set up our welcome table with all of our desired elements, they both always had creative ideas and a solution for a problem (even if it hadn't happened yet). But however impressed we already were with the team, they truly blew us away on the actual day of. There wasn't a single moment throughout the entire ceremony and reception where my (now) husband and I were stressed or concerned about anything because the Behl coordination team took care of it all. I only got to see glimpses of them in full force because they were all covering so many duties with grace and professionalism (and incredible speed - one of my highlights of the day was watching Anjali sprint from one end of the venue to the other to manage traffic around the baraat processional). They made magic happen for us, our families, and our guests. When my saree blouse zipper broke as I was supposed to be getting ready, I didn't even have the time to be stressed about it because Anjali returned with the blouse fully fixed with a new zipper within 30 minutes. My bridal attendant, Riya, helped me switch between my wedding heels and crocs no less than 1000 times during the day (while ensuring I had my lip combo on as I hydrated). Risha not only acted as our personal bodyguard during our reception so we could eat a little bit of dinner, she also somehow procured a glass of mango lassi after it was done being served for my sister, who missed cocktail hour. We had so many guests note on how smooth the event was run and particularly how incredibly kind the entire team was throughout the day, and we couldn't agree more. Their special touches took our wedding from amazing to exquisitely marvelous. We would absolutely, wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone and everyone!

The Ultimate Surprise: A 40th Birthday Dinner to Remember!…read more I don't even know where to begin -- my 40th birthday dinner was beyond anything I could have imagined. It was a total surprise, flawlessly planned and executed by the incredible team at Bash Please, and filled with exactly 40 of my favorite people. Yes, 40 people for 40 years -- how perfect is that? The setting was stunning. Bash Please somehow captured everything I love and turned it into an effortlessly beautiful, inviting, and joy-filled atmosphere. Every detail -- from the long communal tables to the coastal-inspired décor -- felt personal and thoughtful, like it was made just for me. Because it was. And the food? A crab feed feast that dreams are made of. Piles of fresh, buttery crab, warm sourdough, crisp salads, and all the fixings. The kind of meal that gets messy in the best way -- everyone cracking shells, passing platters, laughing, and making memories. It was communal, it was delicious, and it was so me. Champagne flowed, the conversations never stopped, and I felt completely surrounded by love. I genuinely can't think of a better way to ring in a new decade. Massive thanks to Bash Please for pulling off a night that was perfectly designed and truly unforgettable. I felt celebrated, cherished, and completely surprised -- and that's no easy feat. 10/10. Would turn 40 again.

A few weeks ago was my senior prom, which was at the Exploratorium. The exhibits and environment were very fun and made for a super engaging night! As a trans person, I have a lot of anxiety in public bathrooms. Although they were unable to open up the general neutral bathroom (I mean, it's high schoolers, you can't trust them). However, the staff was extremely accommodating and kind, and escorted me to a separate bathroom. They made sure I got to pick the bathroom I was most comfortable in, as well as apologized for the inconvenience. Not only is this place fun, entertaining, and family friendly, they are welcoming, kind, and caring. I will never forget the kindness that I was shown.

I saw lots of laughter, play, and wonder and despite it being packed everyone was respectful and I didn't see any hogging of the different activities. You could easily spend at least 3 or 4 hours in there. Food Court I ordered a chicken avocado bacon burger and it was surprisingly delicious! Also, not too expensive. Overall I highly recommend coming her with your kids, on a date, or just for some fun scientific exploring! I didn't get to see what the regular entrance fee was, but I'd say this would be worth it for about $25-$30 per person. I wish I would've taken more pictures of the different activities Recommendations - More hand sanitizing stations, I only recall seeing one throughout the entire place

I could only describe a very crude version of what I was picturing in my head. Even with my largely useless guidance, Olivia absolutely nailed it!! Her talent and taste are just beyond words. I carried my bouquet around all night and even forced my now-husband to drive two centerpieces to our honeymoon to decorate our room because I wasn't quite ready to say goodbye, lol! Beyond that, she's so kind, easy-going, and hardworking. She and her team made our wedding day a dream! Thank you, Olivia! I hope to work with you again!! I would highly recommend for any and all projects!

We absolutely loved that she had a full catalog built out with photos and pricing. This allowed for full transparency and no unexpected surprises. During our initial call, she pulled up an itemized spreadsheet to track all of our selections which included centerpieces (flowers, eucalyptus leaves & floating candles), a floral arrangement for the mantel, florals for the sweetheart table, bridal bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages and much more. We had also been looking on Etsy for our signage items. Come to find out, Olivia does that as well! This was a life saver because she was able to print our seating chart, place cards, dinner menus, bar menu, table numbers and welcome sign. Everything turned our perfect and absolutely stunning! We are still receiving rave reviews and compliments from friends & family about the details. Olivia listened to our desires and made each and every one of our dreams come to life! She's professional and a joy to work with. I highly recommend her services for future brides!

The Delancey Street Foundation's own web page is too modest for the incredible party they helped me…read morehost - so three cheers to Yelp! First of all, Delancey Street's event manager is dynamite, and she handles everything from space rental to catering to audio/visual equipment to room set up. Among the variety of venues I could rent at their well-tended center on the Embarcadero boardwalk, I chose the spectacular Club Room. The photo on their web page shows only the balcony from the outside - wow!, you should see the view from the *inside* overlooking the San Francisco waterfront and the awesome west span of the Bay Bridge! My friends were floored by scenery as well as a most memorable sunset, with light reflecting off Yerba Buena Island. Our evening program was staffed by a host of gracious and friendly Delancey Street residents who greeted us at the gate and ushered guests up to the Club Room for the evening. The event coordinator had arranged the space so we could easily and comfortably navigate the flow of people picking up name tags, enjoying healthy cocktail food, ordering wine and beer at the bar, or visiting out on the balcony. When it was time for our formal program, the staff had set up a laptop projector and a large screen with a podium and microphone - all situated so that the guests could have clear views from seats around round tables across the room. For our party, we ordered the healthiest combination of cocktail food on the Delancey Street menu. It was delicious - and abundant. For dessert, we caved into the chocolate cake and gingerbread cake. :-) The Restaurant below had kindly agreed to make a few additional cakes for us even with only a couple day's notice, and I'm glad we did because it was so good that only a few pieces were left at the end! During our program, I had invited our event manager to say a few words about their residential center for people who have hit rock bottom and found a way to Delancey Street from a path that otherwise would have led to prison. The guests listened intently as she described their program for helping residents recover, take responsibility for their lives, learn three marketable job skills, and teach other residents around them. It was truly a teachable moment about human potential. People started to put the dots together - Oh, so you are the Delancey Street Movers, too! The spirited applause from the guests was deeply gratifying for the staff, and I was heartened to see friends approaching the residents working the party to ask them more about their experience. The Delancey Street Foundation supports itself through the many enterprises its residents operate like the movers, the Christmas tree sales, their restaurant - and the catering and space rental business. Though the party wasn't cheap to host, I don't think there is any place on the San Francisco waterfront with the same combination of easy access (BART, Muni, CalTrain, bike, and plenty of parking), healthy food prepared at a terrific restaurant, flexible and adaptive floor plans, ready A/V for music and slide shows, ample staff support, and purposeful profits - all for about $35/person for the whole evening, including tip, tax, drinks, equipment rental, staff, space, the works. When the program was over, some guests wanted to linger, so I was happy to be able to invite friends to simply join me for a drink at the Delancey Street Restaurant right down stairs - marvelous. I hope someday I get to do it all again, but in the meantime, I highly recommend taking advantage of this amazing venue and the remarkable people whose personal investment in the success of each event makes it all the more magical.
