I am not really into all the foo-foo coffee drinks, so I picked up my plain cup of dark roast and found a seat outside to take in both the coffee and the bustle of downtown Blairsville on Thanksgiving weekend. Decorated in mountain chic style, Cabin Coffee is a cute, happening shop with some great outdoor seating. If you love people watching and coffee, you have found your spot.

As always, everything is Starbucks quality, so you can always expect that, which includes the drink promise (don't like your drink, they'll make another one free of charge typically). The merchandise is well placed and presented, and the kiosk is always very clean. Another plus is that since its in Ingles, you can still scan your Ingles rewards card and get gas points. The drawback with this partnership is that you can't redeem free drinks from your star rewards (12 stars or birthday reward); however if you use your Starbucks gift card you're still awarded a star, which you can always redeem at a corporate location elsewhere. In short, while only a kiosk, you can expect the same awesome service and quality as any Starbucks; shine on, Blairsville Starbucks!

The Distillery has a great rustic feel, but with a slight grunge feel to it. The bar is front and center upon entering, with shiny bottles lined up everywhere. We were greeted right away and chose to go with their sampler, any 8 tastes for $7. Now don't get too excited, they are thimble sized, but it's a great way to find the shine you'll love. On this day there wasn't a bad on on the batch. They offer cocktails made with all of their moonshine and spirits. I ended up picking up two bottles, The first was their "Barrel Aged Shine" a limited edition, 109 proof, 2 year corn whiskey shine. It was, and I say was, because it only lasted Thanksgiving weekend, a fantastic moonshine whiskey. Perfect for a stiff old fashioned. I am tempted to make the three hour round trip to pick up another one. The second was their Sorghum Rum. I'm not sure if there's a lot of competition in the sorghum rum space, but this is definitely a winner. A very sweet sipping rum, absolutely delicious on its own or in a cocktail. I am definitely pacing this bottle to make sure it lasts until I can make it back to Blairsville. They have a stage and different events, so it would be fun to come back and hang out longer.
