I saw this place on TikTok and decided to make the trip uptown to check out all the perfume oils Exotic Fragrances had to offer. It is located on the corner of Lexington and 104th, one block away from the 103rd (6) train station. I was surprised to see a line on a random Wednesday morning, but I believe it only speaks to the level of service at Exotic Fragrances. The staff are all incredibly patient and helpful, and are happy to give recommendations if you are looking to try something new. The prices are very reasonable-- I walked away with a travel-sized rollerball for $4.64! Just a note-- remember to grab a ticket when you walk in, and expect a short wait. They have catalogues available that you can peruse while you wait as well. read more

About 5 years ago, I was on the hunt for a signature fragrance and was given the address and description of this store. When I got there I was overwhelmed and impressed with the selection and variety. I have been going here every other month since. The owner Mohammed is always helpful and pleasant and so is his staff. I love that you are able tell them what notes you are looking for in a fragrance and they provide different scents to match. They have new fragrances every month, which are available in oil or perfume, they sell incense, soap, butters and much more. They also sell a variety of bottles which makes this a great gift giving option. read more

My coworker and I went shopping during our lunch hour and our experience was great! Gabriel was very attentive and kind. He was very patient with us. Imagine four people asking for different fragrances at the same time during rush hour. Once you enter the store, pick a number and grab the fragrance book. They have a lot of fragrances, different sizes and prices. Decide which ones you want to smell and once your number is called, just give your choice to the associate. Don't listen to rude people saying that they were coming to the store before the viral tik-tok video, and they deserve to be first in the line. Enjoy your time there and spend your time choosing what fragrance is the one you would like to buy. This is my new go-to place for oils and perfumes! They win for customer service! They take their time with you, ask you things about yourself, personality and what you like to help find scents that fit you! We spend about an hour here. It was fun, exploratory and educational. They have cute designed bottles for your scents that add to the experience. I was happy to find some oldie but goodies and some newbies to add to my collection. I HATE to do this, but I have to . Exotic Fragrance...WHAT HAPPENED??? I've been a customer for over 20 years. Absolutely stood by your products. The fragrances were SPOT ON in duplicating scents. And the longevity was definitely there. In the past few months, I noticed a difference. The fragrances weren't lasting, and the scents were a little off. I just thought I had a bad batch or something. But it's been pretty consistent. You guys kinda fell off. Whatever you changed, CHANGE IT BACK! read more

I'm literally telling you, I've stopped buying overly expensive perfumes ever since I started coming to this place. They sell the top name brand perfumes as body oils that are much cheaper, stronger, last longer in terms of use and the scent staying on your skin. The staff are there are friendly and allow you to sample fragrances according to what you like to smell like. They sell female, male, and unisex. The beat part? you fan walk out of there barely making a dent in your wallet. The roll on perfumes I bought only cost about $7 I think? And I've had them for months. So far my favorite scents I've received from there is the Juicy Couture, La Lumierre, and Dior Cherry. :)o read more

My friends and I went to Exotics to fill up on some new fragrances for the summer. To be seen you'll need to come before 5:30pm. On arrival, you'll be asked to take a number and wait to be serviced. Ms. Dominque assisted my friends and I with finding some great scents such as Yara Candy, H. Al SuTan, Gorg Jasmine. I have been holding back on doing a review because I wanted to gatekeep. First time I ever didn't want to share. But sharing is caring and I saw someone else's review and it brought me right to Harlem like 2 months ago. Since then I developed a relationship with my very first supplier for a candle company that I have been secretly starting. Babikur is my guy and I think Maria is my girl. They have been WILDY helpful on my journey to entrepreneurship. Honest, patient, knowledgeable and enlightening. I could spend hours in there smelling things but they are such great guides to what I'm looking for I cannot tell you have lucky I feel. Full disclosure they have anything you want. ANY fragrance, any smell- in an oil form. They customize it and will jar it for you in perfume bottles that they sell in all shapes and sizes. They have many things but me I go for the oils. And if you want to smell amazing in the town. Then you will have at least gone here once in your life. Lastly the way they check out my product and how invested they are in what I have going on it's more than just business to business relationship it is truly a blessing. The shop is small and I believe they can serve up to 4 or 5 ppl at a time if not you sit on the left and wait your turn. They have lists of hundred of fragrances so you can take it home, decide and come back. And they also do scent pairing which is just incredible. Although you may have to wait to be served because they're so busy it was definitely well worth it. The staff is knowledgeable. They can hit you with recommendations based off of what you like already and the prices are more than reasonable. I'll give them a A+ all around and definitely recommend stopping by there if you want to smell good. read more

I was looking for a store to match a fragrance that has been discontinued, and the owner helped us go through many scents till I found the perfect one. He was patient, and genuinely wanted our business and was not rude even when his store was filled with customers. The sales associates were super nice and happy to share their favorite scents and explained how the process works. I left with three scents, and it definitely stays longer than other perfumes. They were really sweet! The associate was attentive and listened to what I wanted. They brought out fragrances that matched the description I was looking for and there was a cup for fragrances I didn't like as much and ones I like I could put on a shelf. The experience is overall so great and the staff is so friendly. Isabella helped us find exactly what we wanted and even made some amazing suggestions! I have been here twice now and everything I've gotten has been amazing. I get tons of compliments on the scents and they are long lasting. I want to report that this website continues to post and promote products that are clearly a scam…read more In my case, I placed an order for body creams on March 3rd, and the company that processed the charge on my account was a completely different one called MELIO. Right after they charged me, the order was canceled with the excuse that I had requested the cancellation, which is absolutely false. I never canceled anything. Since then, my money has been in dispute because: The company does not respond to emails. They only send automated messages saying someone will get in touch with me, but no one ever does. Meanwhile, MELIO claims that they already sent the money to the seller and is now asking me to either pay again or provide my card number so they can try to charge me again. Absolutely not! This is robbery. I should not have to lose my money like this. And who is going to compensate me for the damage? This situation is unacceptable. I have already reported this case to: My credit card company The Better Business Bureau The appropriate authorities here in California These two companies are working together to scam people.
