I'll start with the pros: It's a nice, chill spot to relax and the vibe is cool. The flavor of the…read morehookah I had was nice and fruity (forgot the name of it). Disclaimer: Please keep in mind there was a total of 7 other patrons in the Building during my visit. It's sad to say that this establishment falls in line with the rest of the Black owned establishments in Charlotte with poor customer service. My visit started off ok with the customer service and then it went nonexistent. Let's start with the "Cockotail" menu. Yes, the word cocktail is incorrectly spelled on the menu --and this was not intentional. PLEASE RUN THE SPELL CHECK AND UPDATE THIS PLEASE!! It's embarrassing ! I came here on a Friday night during the finals, and I ordered drinks and hookah. There was an issue with our hookah not pulling, so we asked the bartender if they could look into it. Five to ten minutes go by, no one comes by to assist. The wait time would've been acceptable if there were a lot of people in the place, but it wasn't. I went back to the bar and had to remind the bartender to please check on the hookah. They finally came over and then returned the hookah about another 10 minutes later and the hookah issue was resolved. My guest ordered one drink and it came out in a decent amount of time. We ordered a second drink and we were told that they would bring it right out. We literally watched the bartender with the curly hair sitting down to talk with another patron and she NEVER brought the drink. At that point, we were irritated because I'm not going to keep on reminding someone to do their job, especially when it is slow. I am so appreciative that a man paid for our bill because I was most certainly going to have a conversation with the manager due to the lack of customer service. If the service was this poor on a slow night, don't bother wasting your time going in when place is packed. I'm not sure if this place is new, but they have some kinks to work out because it makes NO SENSE as to why you are paying for customer service that you cannot get. It is so irritating that you can't go anywhere these days and not have some type of issue when you go out. The purpose of going out is to relax and have a good time, not to be irritated your entire visit. I could've stayed home and saved money. Unfortunately, returning here is not on the top of my priority list. My best advice is to stand at the bar and watch them make your drink or bring your hookah so you can guarantee that you get your items in a timely manner.

We arrived at 10 p.m., and I was gone by 11:30 p.m. In that time, we only got hookah. The drinks never came. The booth size was absurd, so other customers kept asking if they could take a seat because there was nowhere else to sit. I'm sure not every group payed for a booth because everyone in there was sitting down. By about 11 p.m., the scene was still dead, and the vibe was non-existent. I spoke to a hookah girl and asked for a refund because this place was just not worth it. They had to call the manager and he said I wouldn't be charged, and free to go. I waited to write this post to see what the outcome would be because I ended up being charged and ended up having to file a complaint with my bank. I had no receipts, and the manager stopped responding after he agreed to meet me to fix the matter. I was scammed $300 by this place, and it wasn't worth the headache. Drinks were nonexistent, and the service was slow. Experience Trash.

This is a new nightclub in the university area, the interior is small but there is a dance floor in front of the Dj booth. Good sound system, expensive drinks (maybe this was because entry was free) and one of the bartenders did a fire breathing act. Service was on par tonight, cocktail girls with free shots were brought around to each of us in addition to a dessert at closing: chocolate jelly shots. We will return if they keep up the high dollar DJ names. Give 'em a try- there are different theme nights. It's a restaurant so might have good food. Gender specific restrooms and lot's of parking (beside the theatre.) BIG plus: you don't have to drive into downtown Charlotte.

I was celebrating my 42nd birthday and was looking forward to experiencing an unforgettable night. When I called Aura and spoke with a hostess I was very polite in letting her know my rsvp had been cancelled without my knowledge and I had accepted the text confirmation of attending the restaurant on Saturday 12/27. She began to explain the reservations were canceled due to a private event and the restaurant was closing at 9pm. I immediately started to shake and ask "what, why, there weren't any blackout dates or anything preventing me from making reservations? The hostess only said " you will need to go online and purchase tickets". I was in utter disbelief that this was happening. The hostess was not apologetic or anything. Aura this is unacceptable and this ruined my birthday night. Why would you not call, text or email and let me know the reservations would be cancelled and I needed to pick another time and date? There were no alternative solutions provided just a simple " go online and purchase tickets." Aura you all have to do better with notifications to inform your paying patrons of cancellations especially when they are celebrating a special day.

It was completely unnecessary, aggressive, and honestly humiliating. During the incident one of the guards had his arm around my neck to the point where I couldn't breathe and my necklace was ripped off in the process. At no point did anyone try to calmly speak to me or explain what the issue was. Being handled by multiple security guards like that felt excessive and unprofessional, especially in a place that's supposed to be about having a good time. Instead of basic communication, the situation immediately escalated to physical force. I would strongly caution anyone thinking about going here. A night out shouldn't end with you being physically dragged out by security with no explanation. There are plenty of lounges in the city that treat their guests with far more respect.

The young man working tonight is representing you all as the face of your business, and he did a horrendous job. One of the worst attitudes I've ever some across and if ppl are going for true Chicago authenticity, he's definitely got it. Thought I was ordering Italian Fiesta off 71st (IYKYK). If buddy doesn't want to work there, yall should let him go. If it weren't for the fact I desparately wanted a taste of home, I would've walked out and not made an order at all. Businesses thrive thru word of mouth, and he is the type to get the wrong mouths speaking. I got a better welcome and hospitality from the DJ, and that's an insane statement to have to make. As a fellow Chicagoan, I was super excited about this place - didn't even look at reviews because I only trust the palate of fellow Chicagoans. I walked in and stood at the register at the "wait to be seated" sign, and behind it was a young man wrapping silverware. This man looked at me come in (we made eye contact, check your cameras) and still made me wait SEVERAL MINUTES until HE WAS READY to speak. He walks over and literally whispers "You wna place an order?" That's it. Just like that. Theres a DJ literally right behind us at the entrance so I asked him to repeat what he said and leaned in closer to hear him. He whispered it again and I had to lean in closer to hear him. Every single question he asked, he whispered it knowing full well I could not hear him and he made ZERO EFFORT to pipe up. I was damn near behind the register with how far I had to lean in to hear him. It was absolutely without a doubt intentional. What an attitude. Wow. I place my order and see yall charge a 15% gratuity for take out orders. That's insane. Food was decent but yall are cheap on the mild sauce. I had a little bit on my chicken (not even covering it), and none on the fries. HUH???? Yall want ppl to come back and tell their friends about this place, right? Cuz it doesn't seem like it. PUT THE MILD SAUCE ON THE FRIES. As aforementioned, if that young man does not want to work there, then yall need to let him go. He is not a good representation of your business, as the rest of your staff was incredibly nice. Not every person he encounters will be from the Carolinas and carry that southern hospitality with them. It took everything in my soul to not act up in yall's beautiful restaurant, but his behavior is totally unacceptable. Disgusting, truly. They have a good menu of drinks and food - obviously chicken but some other apps, like that you can get the snack size. I tried the snack size mozzarella and the pizza puff. Staff was friendly overall but they refused to serve me a glass of water in the event room even though I had had a glass earlier while I was waiting for the event to start. They said they only sold $3 bottles during events. They also add a mandatory gratuity after a certain time each night. Overall area is a good spot with other shops nearby and plenty of parking. I'd give it another chance, maybe just for a regular visit and not something in the separate event space.

The customer service was actually pretty good, too; however, unfortunately, due to the crowd, I would not go back. As a woman in my late thirties, I simply cannot take the club culture. I wasn't informed that it was giving TRAP nightclub vibes before I went. My friend described it as a sports bar. I stayed to enjoy quality time with her, but no... You can't bring or chew chewing gum in there - that tells you a lot. Also, upon entering, there were a group of girls discussing keying someone's car bc they saw an ex's car in the parking lot. I felt like I had to be on guard walking through bc most people were mean-mugging. There wasn't much joy in there. Additionally, I saw at least two men rolling blunts. The venue is beautiful, but the crowd is a major deterrent.
