The staff were really…read morefriendly and each game is private as long as you have at least 2 people-- amazing :D There are only 3 rooms here, with the hardest one being a 90 minute room! While the room didn't look as polished as the usual corporate escape rooms I have played, the room was still really fun and all of the puzzles worked well. The room ended up being way bigger than I thought. The puzzles didn't require a ton of abstract thinking (like second letter of every word starting a sentence in the second chapter of a book, etc.) and were fun and satisfying to complete. The game master does initially try to help you out if you are stuck, but you can ask for less clues (or ask for unlimited clues without penalty). Our game master, Dana, was super nice and enthusiastic :) You can reserve online, pay in advance, and add an optional tip to your game master via venmo/zelle. Totally worth the 30 minute drive for me-- excited to play again (but also sad there are only 2 more to try)!

There's a clean and bright minimalistic waiting area with clever quirky riddles, bird pics and signs on the walls. (Sidenote: the bathroom is a time portal so be careful). When the escape room event begins Madame Daphne comes out to greet your group and leads you to her tarot reading room where she does readings for about 2 people after handing each person a liability waiver that's kept in their own personalized box, each disguised as a book she pulls from her bookshelf. You crumble your waiver up and throw it in the birdcage with her co-worker Sir Walter, who is in charge of the forms. Each person puts their belongings away for safekeeping in Madame Daphne's wardrobe. It's recommended to put your cellphone away but you are allowed to keep it in case you feel you might need your flashlight. That is the only reason you are to use your cell phone once inside. When everyone's items are stored away and after going over the rules, Madame Daphne leads you into her seance parlor. She uses your group's help to channel the ghosts of Harry Houdini and strange things begin to occur as Houdini confirms he's in the room with you. He demands that Madame Daphne leave and you and your group are then left to solve various clues to free his ghost and yourselves from the escape room. The sound and visual effects, realistic props and stellar acting by the individuals who portray Madame Daphne and the ghost of Harry Houdini make this a truly immersive experience. It's easy to see why this escape room has been ranked as the best one in the country.

The theme was a space mission and our large group were spilt into two smaller groups with different tasks. The commitment to the theme was evident in all the details and props. The little launch simulators were very exciting and we really felt like we had to succeed. It was a novel set up compared to the traditional "escape" rooms of the past. I will say it was a higher difficulty room and finishing in time is a worthy effort. The staff were kind and helpful and even took pictures for us at the end.

Perhaps it's a bit cheaper because the inside is a bit rough/unfinished. I mean It's not dirty, unsafe, or disgusting - but you can tell that little investment is made to "upscale" things. Staff - the lady working the room ( I believe she's the owner) is super cool. We did the Avengers themed room and succeeded ( and it was not because of my skills). It was a lot of finding clues to open locks. I felt that maybe 80% of it was finding ways to open locks then use what was hidden to do something to move to the next step. Now, let's be honest, if we are the Avengers, I don't think we are going to look for clues to open locks. I sure there are more effective/efficient ways to open them:-). Same goes for a normal person, lock cutters anyone? Overall it was fun and we finished with about 5 minutes remaining. Think we were there for about an hour total.
