Escaped in 33 minutes!
Loreta W.

My child and 5 of her friends decided to get together on a spring break. They had so much fun. Builds teamwork. Price is reasonable. Host was friendly. Place is immaculate. Will definitely try another room adventure.

Is this a good place for kids or does it have too much gore?

There is no gore! A lot of kids (10+) enjoy our Zombie Bunker room. It’s the lighting and environment that makes it a little scary!

There's free parking in the garage (upper level), which made things easy. When we walked in, we were greeted right away and got checked in while waiting for our time slot. The waiting area was clean and had some photo opportunity spots. Our game master, Brianna, came over and gave us a quick rundown since it was my first time, which I really appreciated. As soon as we entered the room, I noticed how clean and well-organized everything was. The props were also well taken care of, making this whole experience super immersive. Brianna was really helpful and gave us hints at the right moments whenever we got stuck. There were multiple layers to the puzzles, which made it more exciting and less predictable. It truly kept us engaged the entire time. It ended up being such a great escape room experience for me, and even my friends who have done others said this one stood out. Definitely worth checking out if you're looking for something fun to do with friends!

It was really frustrating bc the game master was not really helping us so we waisted a lot of time. We were kind of close towards the end but she still didn't willingly help us like we asked (bc we knew it would be harder with only 3 people really trying at it). It was really fun but we left frustrated. Especially for the price you pay. Definitely come here with your quick thinking, murder mystery, detective friends!

The hints gave just enough info so that someone in our group would be able to work out the solution without us ever getting frustrated. We escaped with a few minutes remaining and felt very accomplished (we did save the galaxy after all haha). For those worried about difficulty, this location allows you to ask for hints at any time, making the challenge scalable to your own preference. The theming of Cosmic Crisis was very cool, and the technology was also pretty impressive! We'll definitely be returning to tackle some of their more challenging rooms!

To be fair, the second time was because our original room stopped working, but the staff handled it so well. They moved us to a new room, gave us free T-shirts, and made sure we still had a great experience. I never realized how exciting it could be to work together to solve puzzles and "escape" before. They give you just enough help so you don't get stuck, but not so much that it feels unfair. It's the perfect balance of challenging and fun. That said, I probably wouldn't recommend doing three rooms in a single day--by the third time, everyone was a little aggravated (normal when you're locked in small spaces together!). Once or twice is perfect. Overall, 10/10 would recommend The Escape Game Houston. It's exciting, well-run, and a fantastic way to bond with coworkers, friends, or family.

You go through an entrance that kind of looks like a hotel building ish. You'll still be outside and inside an elevator Theme: you'll figure out what happened to houdini. And right from the get go (when you do find the actual place), it feels incredibly immersive In terms of difficulty, this one one of the more easier ones. I went with 3 other people who have never done an escape room before, and we all succeeded. Some challenging puzzles but nothing you can't figure out with some trial and error This feels a little more on the pricier side ($64/person), but you semi-interact with the "staff" (where most escape rooms they leave you alone). But all in all, probably the most unique one I've done!

Once there, the escape room is a wonderful way to spend a hot summer afternoon in the cool a/c and out of the Houston heat! There's a clean and bright minimalistic waiting area with clever quirky riddles, bird pics and signs on the walls. (Sidenote: the bathroom is a time portal so be careful). When the escape room event begins Madame Daphne comes out to greet your group and leads you to her tarot reading room where she does readings for about 2 people after handing each person a liability waiver that's kept in their own personalized box, each disguised as a book she pulls from her bookshelf. You crumble your waiver up and throw it in the birdcage with her co-worker Sir Walter, who is in charge of the forms. Each person puts their belongings away for safekeeping in Madame Daphne's wardrobe. It's recommended to put your cellphone away but you are allowed to keep it in case you feel you might need your flashlight. That is the only reason you are to use your cell phone once inside. When everyone's items are stored away and after going over the rules, Madame Daphne leads you into her seance parlor. She uses your group's help to channel the ghosts of Harry Houdini and strange things begin to occur as Houdini confirms he's in the room with you. He demands that Madame Daphne leave and you and your group are then left to solve various clues to free his ghost and yourselves from the escape room. The sound and visual effects, realistic props and stellar acting by the individuals who portray Madame Daphne and the ghost of Harry Houdini make this a truly immersive experience. It's easy to see why this escape room has been ranked as the best one in the country.

The theme was a space mission and our large group were spilt into two smaller groups with different tasks. The commitment to the theme was evident in all the details and props. The little launch simulators were very exciting and we really felt like we had to succeed. It was a novel set up compared to the traditional "escape" rooms of the past. I will say it was a higher difficulty room and finishing in time is a worthy effort. The staff were kind and helpful and even took pictures for us at the end.

The OK experience was within the Escape rooms itself. Very mediocre experience and not very immersive. The game we selected just didnt make us feel like we traveled to a foreign place. Clues were not hidden away tactfully. Some clues were just thrown on the floor. When you solved a puzzle, there was an unlocking sound on the speaker which is not very helpful with knowing what items unlocked - Took away from the immersive part. Some of the sensors weren't even working so we were lost on what was supposed to happen next. Had to tell our game master a couple of times. Things were falling apart as well. Even with all the time lost on malfunctioning pieces, we beat it with a lot of time to spare so not very challenging.

Perhaps it's a bit cheaper because the inside is a bit rough/unfinished. I mean It's not dirty, unsafe, or disgusting - but you can tell that little investment is made to "upscale" things. Staff - the lady working the room ( I believe she's the owner) is super cool. We did the Avengers themed room and succeeded ( and it was not because of my skills). It was a lot of finding clues to open locks. I felt that maybe 80% of it was finding ways to open locks then use what was hidden to do something to move to the next step. Now, let's be honest, if we are the Avengers, I don't think we are going to look for clues to open locks. I sure there are more effective/efficient ways to open them:-). Same goes for a normal person, lock cutters anyone? Overall it was fun and we finished with about 5 minutes remaining. Think we were there for about an hour total.
