This exceeded my wildest expectations. I went there just expecting them to look at an issue and tell me what I already know. Instead, I got my exhaust issues fixed, on the spot, for a fraction of the price others quoted me. I was charged 250, compared to 1000 which is what firestone and NYB suggested. Bill is knowledgeable, but Bill us also a liar. He told me he had parts chromed that obviously weren't. He told me he would have them chromed again and they still had paint on them. Had to pay him just to get the parts back. I could go on and on. Shady to say the least. read more

Wow. These guys are great. I took my car to two other places and had work quoted at $2K for very different fixes. Took it to these guys and they spent 2 days on it. Just found out about this place today and luckily I did. My muffler was dragging on my way to get an oil changed. And stopped by a local jiffy to have them tie it up temporarily. Luckily the worker there told me about the place. Even though the tying it up temporarily didn't hold the whole ride there. I made it there. And it completely fell out at the shop's parking lot. The people were friendly, they actually showed me the problem and worked extremely fast. They really saved me today. Would recommend!!! read more

I'm so impressed with Exhaust Works! My brother recommended them. He said they will fix only what needs fixed and the prices are very reasonable. OH MY GOODNESS, that was putting it mildly! My heat shield was loose on the catalytic converter. When I asked if they could do a free check, he told me absolutely. I told him I wasn't sure if I could get it fixed today because money is tight. I was told, "If it's something they can just pull off and throw away, there will be no charge." The guy that checked it was Mike. He went to work looking, and before you know it he was torching and pulling off the heat shield. He got it all off, tossed it aside, brought my car down, drove it outside to me and said," There ya go!" I asked him how much it cost and he said, "Nothing, just send people my way." Wow!! I tipped him $20.00. This place is like the good old days of helping people without trying to gouge them. I highly recommend Exhaust Works and won't go anywhere else ever again! JUST THE FIX !! That's all they want you to pay for. Bookmark this place for when you hear about anyone with a possible exhaust issue. The owner Wade is a no nonsense guy. Bring the vehicle in, and check in. That gets you in line. Now you can leave and come back, depending on the wait time, without losing your place in line. My experience... My wife's car reduced available power from 70mph to 20mph. That's called "Limp Mode" on most vehicles. It's scary for her to drive down the shoulder to the next exit she can get off the highway. That exit was close to my mechanic *Bonus. A co-worker recommended EW, but I would have to tow it from New Albany. I did call EW after my mechanic diagnosed(symptoms over the phone). Told Wade he said it was most likely catalytic convertor. "Did he SEE it?" No, he got the symptoms over the phone, just like Wade. He agreed with Limp Mode and CC, but wanted to look first. They told her that the exhaust system was original, and rusted through in many spots. $1000+ . Now was my chance to try Exhaust Works. Grabbed her car and drove it down on a Saturday morning. Quite literally the big yellow building at the corner of RT 104 and S. High St. Upon entry, I was immediately intoxicated with the aroma of a smoker. That's fine I was warned about it. Wade handed me a card, got me on the list, and estimated 90min until my turn. He encouraged me to call the number on the card if I needed to confirm they were still on time for my turn. I departed for some breakfast in Merion Village, and some browsing at a nearby bookstore. I called Wade and they would be ready for me in 10min. Sure enough it was as promised. Within minutes up on the rack, with it running, the mechanic waved me over. He pointed to a rusty broken connection. "Your flange is broken. It's a common thing. I'm going to make 2 cuts, and weld a new connection piece in. $110 plus tax. Is that OK?" I asked about the rest of the exhaust. He tugged on it to check the mounting. Brushed mild rust dust off the muffler area, and said "everything else looks good to go." I was stunned. He even repeated the mantra "We only fix what's broken". No upsell pitches for more money. 20min later he was pulling it out of the garage. I gladly paid(credit card) and thanked Wade for his honest service. There is no doubt that this will be my exhaust place in the future. I did talk to him about the other car, and he confirmed it was a comparable cost for all that needed done. Short version.. Sketchy neighborhood. Friendly, honest, professional service. Excellent value. I will take a folding chair to sit outside. read more

Just like they say, they fix the problem only. This was my experience at Exhaust Works. I was told it would be about 15 minutes to get a free estimate on my exhaust issue. Right around 15 minutes a technician came to take a look at my car. He showed me the problem, how he could fix it and how much it would cost. I had been quoted at $1,000 and told by my normal mechanic that I needed a whole new exhaust system. The technician at Exhaust Works showed me where two sections of pipe were rusted through and said he could replace those two sections for $250. It took him about 35 minutes and I was out the door with my car fixed. I would highly recommend Exhaust Works! read more

I have had two separate occasions where Wade and his team has saved me hundreds of dollars. Both occasions I was getting my oil changed at a well known car repair shop and they recommended maintenance that didn't need done. Both times I took the work to Exhaust Works because I knew they would do it cheaper. Once they looked over the car they told me that nothing was wrong and instead of spending over $800 dollars I walked away without a bill at all. The building is pretty sketchy on the outside and the waiting area reeks of cigarette smoke but the service was friendly and fast, and the price was great. They repaired my exhaust for $200 when my regular repair shop was going to charge me $1,200 to replace it. They even take you in and show you what's wrong with your car while it's up on the rack. I talked to someone at Exhaust Works on the phone. I tried to explain what was happening with my car, the guy I was talking to interrupted me and said bring it in we'll figure it out. I took my car in to the shop, and tried explaining the problem again, interrupted again, so I left my car there to have it repaired. I get a call telling me that the problem my car has isn't something that they can fix. I got mad, because if they had just listened to me to begin with, I wouldn't have wasted my time and their time. read more

Dealership said my Lexus RX300 with 300K miles needed a new flex pipe. Local mechanic said I needed everything from the exhaust manifold back (pipe, cat, muffler) Took it to Exhaust Works. They found a broken flange... $112 out the door!! Sounds like new. DON'T listen to the stealership, folks. They only replace parts instead of diagnosing the problem These guys are an honest shop. I moved here from Cincinnati. When my car ended work I took it to exhaust works, i had driven by a few times, they repaired my car for a reasonable price awe did quality work. I would recommend this place 100 times over on satisfaction with outcome, customer service and price. But MOST importantly, price. I went to two other places in town to get price estimates on getting my muffler repaired, and both other places estimated a price almost THREE TIMES higher than Exhaust Works. I came in to Exhaust Works during my lunch hour, they raised the car up and showed me exactly what was wrong with it and walked me through exactly what he was going to do to fix it, and then he had the job done within 15 minutes. The repair costs under $120. Every other place in town will try to jack the prices up by saying that you need to buy all these different new parts, or have way more done than is actually necessary.
